Hello.
Had an early ish night last night but another rubbish sleep
Up early and was at my dining table for 8am to start working. Wrote for 3.5 hours ( with a hot water bottle tucked in beside me!) Sent it off. My wee word baby!Went to old work place for lunch with DD2
Home and I’d had another work offer so called the family to book in their appointment to meet with them.Had a nice big walk…need it to clear my head after doing work stuff. Was dry but very breezy! Has been heavy showers and bluster all day! Doggy was dilly-dallying all the way home.Sat and read until the light faded. My sofa is at my big window and one of the spaces I was going to miss if I’d moved. When I designed the extension this was always to be where I’d read. Had refilled the hot water bottle to keep cosy. Started a nice new library book.
Moved the desk into extension. It was to go upstairs in my office but I quite like it where it is at the moment. I’ll see!Didn’t really need tea as I was out for lunch.A good day after a couple of rubbishy ones.6 -
Good evening.
Lainey - we had exactly the same meal yesterday! But for tea ( served between 5 and 6 pm). The midday meal here is dinner! I know! It's mad how many language variations there are in such a small island!
Tea was a little late anyway because DS had turned up with littlest DGD. DDiL had taken the oldest two to the cinema to see Wicked. We had a great time playing with all the toys in the floor. Haven't done that for ages.
Just had our gift aid letter from Children's Air Ambulance. I suspect it wouldn't pay for enough fuel to start the ignition but I suppose every little helps.
Dreadful news about the floods. Hope everyone is warm and dry.
Happy teatime everyone

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Porridge for breakfast.
3) Played chess online.
4) Went to work which was ok and I got to help out on another department.
5) Made shepherds pie for tea.
6) Watched I'm a Celebrity.5 -
1 Cut DH’s hair, I think I’m starting to get the hang of it, it’s only taken 5 years.
2 Ack, well we do need a fridge / freezer, and we’ve decided to stick to our guns and not buy new. DH has found the one we want, but have to wait and see. We appear to have reached the age of do you realise how long ago we bought this and it was old then......
3 I had no idea what I was cooking for dinner until I went to do it, it turned into build your own wraps.
4 Custard went to the vets for a check-up and after 3 weeks of an awful chest infection, he’s shifted it with twice daily meds thee whole time and an amazing powder, and got all clear, and the vets compliments of what a “cool dude” he is.

Evening all.
Well done, Custard. on shifting the nasty infection.
Late again, I really should check in earlier in the day. Not felt totally brill today, bit of a reaction methinks and random 'not quite rights' which I actually think have resulted from stong and prolonged meds. Hmmm...
Anyway, there were pleasures:
1) Much milder and the wind seems to have dropped, though we have leaves all over the garden. A tomorrow job for hubhy to get those cleared. Very minor compared to what other people are having to cope with, some dreadful damage done in some areas of the country.
2) Little fella came in last night to tell us about his newly invented card game, pretty much Fish with some variations in his favour as we discovered over a few games. He came back in after school today to beat us yet again. I got a rare cuddle too as consolation for losing.
3) A very kind invitation from my lad and his partner for Christmas dinner. They will have a total of 15 to cater for but I am much relieved I have finally handed the baton over as I don't think I could have coped this year. Just next door so I can socialise just as much as I can cope with and then come home, hopefully will be feeling much recovered by then. I feel like a weight has been lifted, one less thing to worry about.
4) Got a text from Uni grandson to say he and three pals have paid a deposit on a rented house for next year, ideally placed 10 minutes from Uni, 10 minutes from the gym and five minutes from the local pubs! Four bedrooms and two bathrooms, all newly renovated. Seems very early but my sister, who has student houses, said it is best to get sorted before Christmas. SuffolkSue - thought of you and your grandson too.
5) My appetite seems to be coming back - this may or may not be a good thing! Anyway, I was hungry at tea time for a change and enjoyed my tea while watching the usual Monday quizzes.
And now to bed, night night.

I saw that tractor go through Frith
For yesterday,
Breezy rather than windy so washing dried on line.
Bit the bullet and completed a form online at Gov Gateway to get tax back from pension lump sum, meant to do it last week but kept procrastinating!
My old dog sitting on the grass, face up to the sun.
At the yard and time spent with my other girl, bit of exercise and lots of cuddles. She was in a good mood after spending the day munching grass.
Stripped yesterday’s chicken and tea was a chicken & apple bake. Small dog was tap dancing next to me as I did the chook and had the jelly and skin.5 -
Morning from our holiday cottage in the Cotswolds 😊
We made it here on Saturday just before the worst of storm Bert! Luckily I had prepared and brought the makings of a full Christmas 🎄 turkey dinner with all the trimmings (and Baileys and mince pies and cream!) with us. So we hunkered down with some the log burner and fairy lights for the rest of Saturday and all of Sunday. A few glasses of red 🍷as well and watched Slow Horses and played a few games. Thoroughly enjoyable with the wind and rain lashing down outside.
Yesterday it had all calmed down and we visited Stow on the Wold, the Slaughters and beautiful Bourton on the Water then onto Chipping Norton for a late lunch.
We’re off to Blenheim and Christmas 🎄 today, which we have enjoyed in the past.
Have a great day everyone and hugs to anyone feeling sad or poorly 😘7 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Walked into town and looked round the charity shops but didn't buy anything,
3) Had a cup of tea in M and S and talked to my friend who works there.
4) Walked to college as they don't really answer the phone and I need a haircut!
5) Tidied up, cleaned the porch and the living room floor.
6) Smaller son and I had a good look round B and Q and bought a radiator key.
7) Smaller son bled all the radiators but the one with air in (my room) we found someone had sheared off the key bit so we couldn't do it.
8) Made cheese and potato pie plus salad for tea then raspberry Eton Mess.
9) Listening to our football match online. Losing 0-1 at the moment.
10) Just read the MSE email and have followed the National Trust free day offer.6 -
