In 5 mins, a few miles away, is a round ball kick-off and & intends watching!😱🫣😁
1. Just x'd paths with garden centre BR(Lainey knows who)whose sporty+academic daughter is already a county rep. and playing. He it was, during another greetings hug, who heard Addenbrookes oncology Prof. saying 'cancer, a rare one I'm afraid.'
2. This morning's happily muddly Harvest Festival family service play enacted by Beavers, DFV! Lots of fun and again, real live organ music💖 by C.
3. A sort of not-osp osp being &, wearing her p.v. hat, recognising and applauding much of the writing around George's prison experience so far and current UK lock-up situations.4. So much good listening of so many kinds!
-Hadn't heard of Selina Brown. What dynamism! Super lady, writer, R4 guest on Saturday Live yesterday. Great gathering with Nigel Slater, Sir Ian Rankin's Inheritance Tracks and stone mason, Andrew Ziminski, with his book, 'The Stonemason'.
-Olive Shapley on R4X's 'Unsung Heroines'. Must find and listen to the others
-Women's cricket-Rugby, apart from the watching and keeping up with other clubs scores yesterday(2 not good losses, but another magnificent 68-0 victory for our 3s!), then somehow ending up feeding them all, as on training nights.
5. Successful home de-badgering.#
Grumps and rants -
Wreckage of Johnson's placemen Davie and Sharpe ongoing in current affairs tory-fied BBC, also riddled with poor spelling and grammar. All news re: Keir is given negative verbs, 'He admitted that.... ', not 'He said', along with repetition of incorrect Tory media muck, e.g. 'Starmer's shame' etc.

& will often turn the offending so-called newspapers over, sometimes ferry+dump them to other parts of tainted stores.
#
Despite being out late every night, & still hasn't seen all the wondrous skies borealis in everyone else's nearby skies. Will try again tonight.🤞🤞🤞
#That is such good news HappyCas and Mr HappyCas👏

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) An early (ish) shift at work - 8-12. I moved from pizzas to hot food today, so just another 10,000 new things to remember!
3) To my horror, left work and I had left one of the back doors of my car slightly ajar so the interior light had stayed on and drained the battery. Had a cup of tea at M and S and a little sulk then walked home (2.5 miles). Asked my brother and sister for help but brother was too busy and my sister's solution was that of someone living in a home with 2 decent salaries - just pop out and buy a new battery (!) This is one of the reasons for the unsuitable men - there is literally no one in the world willing to help me with anything.
Anyway, I got home and got smaller son to put some trousers on and walk 2.5 miles back with me and push my car across the car park so I could bump start it! Obviously we then had to go for a drive so I taught him the theory of bump starting a car. I don't think anyone who learned to drive after 2000 knows how to do it.
4) Came home and cleaned the bathroom as my penance. It had needed doing so it looks much better now.
5) Had chicken tikka from the freezer for tea with some naan.
6) Will watch Gone Fishing later.
7) I will restart the blood sugar diet tomorrow (had a week off) so there is shortbread in the oven to eat during my programme with a pot of tea.7 -
A very quick good morning. As not much battery on my iPad! Beautiful but cold morning! For Sunday. Early start and a lovely walk with doggy.Emptied two boxes today. Now onto the ones in the garage, so going to do these bit by bit. But I once again have lamps! Hurrah for subtle lighting!Went over to pick up DD2 to take her to an appointment. The leaves on the trees are stunning.Dropped off a pile of cookery books at supermarket charity book shelf and a small box of bits and pieces for DD2.Went for a lunch and it was so overly expensive it was ridiculous! We were sharing a toastie and sharing a can of fizzy drink and two small add on soups, could have had a 2 course meal elsewhere each! Dropped her off home , admired the leaves on the way back!Home and hello doggy! Let’s have a snuggle before I empty another box.And an early night which was needed!6

For yesterday,
Small dog slept through the night and therefore so did we! More tea and reading in bed, perfect for these darker, colder autumn mornings.
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge, will save DID with the wonderful Lesley Manville for another day.
Had half a thought about clearing some of the veggie beds but cold outside and my book was calling, a compendium of stories by AC called Autumn Chills so a very lazy day in the end. Did stir my stumps enough to cook a roast chicken dinner followed by treacle tart.
Watched some of the womens cricket then did venture outside for a walk with small dog, she only manages 20 mins max nowadays ☹️Toasted crumpets for tea, Chelsea detective and then went fishing with Bob & Paul.7 -
Ooooh when you remember to bring your kettle back ( was at caravan for when I had no hot water the very first week!) and you’ve found your hot water bottles in a box!!Odd sleep so a relief to just get up.Dropped off a box of stuff at charity shop then headed to CP
we had such a lovely walk. It was a gorgeous day though cold but bright and cold.Had a couple of hours there which was nice but had to be back as DD2 had a hospital appointment, with a very nice doctor. And a nice chatty student nurse who we chatted to before doctor came in.Dropped her off at home ( whilst thinking what lovely tree colours)
And was just pulling into the drive as my friend was walking up it. So had a very nice chat with her and her doggy. She’s brought me a wee Halloween gift she’d made. We both love this time of year.
Made cheese on toast for my tea as I filled my HWBsAnd I have not looked in a single box today!6 -
We have an unwelcome visitor, after all this time we’ve both tested positive for the first time with Covid. I can’t put a stoic face on this, I’m very very worried.
1 We both got Dr’s appointments.
2 All things such as clothes / bedding washed, and the house is airing when possible.
3 Comforting chicken soup for lunch, tea is gammon, egg, pineapple, and a tiny portion of rice, as I can’t taste. anything.
4 Raided the freezers to try and prepare food planning.
5 Reading through your various happys.:-)

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Amazed that smaller son didn't sustain worse injuries falling down the stairs. He thinks he only fell down the last 5 or 6 steps, and that is where the damage to the wall starts... He hurt his arm, his arris and carpet burned the inside of his other arm. I will be removing the carpet tomorrow!
3) Played chess online.
4) Went to work. The one hour with my not favourite person seemed to last much longer than the 3 hours I worked after she had gone.
5) Making shakshuka now and cooking sausages ready for toad in the hole tomorrow.7 -
Illness and tumbles taken in the parish, take care folks x
For yesterday,
Woke up with the monday blues, no idea why but it helped when the sun come out later in the morning.
Have started the dreaded process of looking for a new car, the mini has his MOT at his week but is costing us more and more so make sense to change before further expense. Will be another mini but hate the whole thing plus dislike change!
Soothing time with my horse, she is one big lump of therapy.
Arrangements made to go out with friends this week, it’s been a while since all got together so lots to catch up on.
The skies were clear, no sign of the comet but moon was bright.6 -
PK ,I hope you both feel better quickly
oddly after suddenly developing a cold on Sunday evening,I felt increasingly grim and tested positive for the first time yesterday evening too !
I’ve had every vaccine ever offered ,no loss of taste or cough though .
Pleasure
when I rang the hospital to re arrange my hip follow up this morning, they were very kind and kept thanking me for testing and telling them ,apparently hardly anyone does anymore
friends who are offering to get things etc
feeling better if I keep taking the parrots regularly
Hope you both get over it quickly xx7
