For yesterday,
Up and at’em as dropping the mini into the garage in the village for his annual service, talked through all the various noises etc and lovely mechanics promised to do their best!
Luckily Capt S was working from home so I could borrow his car for a trip over to the yard, girlie all fine after previous days dental treatment but gave her another day off in case her mouth was a little tender. Lots of grooming and cuddles though.
Talked through car with garage, he will need an overnight stay as needs new bushes (?) on suspension and they were struggling to get bolts off, joys of having a 14 year old car! Pleasure is there is money in car maintenance pot and he’s worth it to me.
Sitting on back door step and enjoying the late afternoon sunshine.
Tasty tea of pork with roasted veg, then enjoyed Race across the world.7 -
1) lovely long boat trip including 1 lock 3 swing bridges and one that came out on a wheel
2) trip included a visit to villa Foscari, La Malcontenta - very interesting
3) a convivial lunch before headed
4) back to Venice on the bus - only 3 euros
5) and a gelato as we walked back to the apartments

Greetings from Addenbrookes and NHS signal.💕 A long time since I posted osps. Permanent signal and connectivity blahblah means online activity now has to be planned for time and for fuel.
1. Today's sarcoma appt chain began 6½hrs ago, now liaising with BROH re: today's x-rays. Happy to wait and thankful again for all that is done. & is well, has her leg and her life. Birmingham next.🫶
2. This beautiful weather, great night skies and amazing moon.
3. Still enjoying h-g raspberries, figs, salad greens etc. Loads of grapes ripening. Squirrels taking all the walnuts, entirely fearless, leaving empty shells everywhere.
4. Silent hour in Town of Gown Quaker House last Friday - glad I went. Special Library Society Garden party last Saturday was marvellous - only one bag of No More Books.😁 LP councillor remembered me and & was v.pleased re: updates.
5. Crocheting away - baby bits for a little chap due to young rugby friends next month and a throw to donate to Sarcoma UK. Nearly 100 squares done, another 150 or so to go. Darning in at least 16 ends per square is what it is😵💫, has to be done.
6. Free JLP afternoon tea for 2 - placatory broadband mess freebie - shared yesterday with old uni friend. Good for us both. Lovely time and naughty cakes had, then Not Really Looking+Definitely Not Buying at the long-established market book stall.....😁. Well done &, another Soddit couple jumped into &'s bag:

Terrific, a keeper!🫶
7. Think &'s £6.50 in CS on collotype no.4/200, Raoul Dufy, 'La Cirque' could well be worthwhile. Had to Google collotype,😁. Back label is interesting:

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to Sainsburys.
3) House reasonably tidy.
4) Took smaller son to the dentist. Somehow, the flake that snapped off his eye tooth is bigger than you can see from the front so the new (very nice) dentist is going to try and fill it but there is a 10% chance it will be too sensitive afterwards and will need to be extracted! I can't have 2 sons with false teeth at the front!!
5) Played catch in the garden.
6) Watching series 3 of Clarksons Farm and will watch Who Do You Think You Are? later.5 -
Thinking of you Ampersand, and grateful to the nhs.
1 The mattress topper, duvet etc were all popped through the washing machine in the past few days, a new duvet and cover picked up and stashed in previous sales, popped on for now should be lovely tonight.
2 Also swapped washed etc the ferret bedding.
3 For yesterday we visited the in laws for the day, who are dealing with some serious grief, my stepfather in law at 95, has in the past week lost his son to cancer that spread to the brain. We went out together for a meal, and down to the see the sea front for a while, I walked along took in the sea air, watched wag tails in the sand, and bees using the seaweed? The coast is my happy place and where I go to full stop. I know it’s just distraction for them but hope it helped.
4 Tomorrow we get to find out what’s what with Fuse, desperately hoping as quite frankly he’s full of life.
5 Dinner tonight was build your own wraps using grilled chicken, brown rice, salad, salsa and wrap

Early schmearly.
Star filled sky with bright moon first thing.
Gentle sunrise.
Friend phoned on her way to work.
Down to CP. Absolutely gorgeous walk this morning.Swimming. Amazing. Sunlight on my face. Just me …and the robin on the hedge. Blue sky. Trees changing colour.Did a bit of painting.
And home. Snoozette on the sofa. Pup dropped off for a couple of hours.
Had Kyiv doodahs for tea( RTC)( had to rake in freezer to see what there was ) with veggies.
Long chat with DD2
And then hoovered and tidied up. Once that hairy big pup was away for at least a couple of days.Sat and watched the sun going down.7 -
Good to hear from you Ampersand and huzzah for our beloved NHS.
For yesterday,
Trip into horsey town for a food shop, still in beloved’s car as he has a couple of days off - with no holidays / breaks away this year he has a silly amount of holidays to use up - and picked up a few rtc bits. Did treat us to some ripe figs and duck legs to do a favourite recipe for Sunday lunch.
Call from the garage, the mini is ready! The bill not too ouchy but he’s worth so much more to me and I don’t want to think about a replacement yet.
Over to see my girlie, warm in the sunshine and she was sleepy going through the exercises I’d planned but we finished with a walk around the farm which she enjoyed.
Tea was rtc salmon with pesto linguine.
The return of ACGAS, lovely gentle programme with Sam West and lots of animals, what’s not to like.5 -
Huzzah for Addenbrookes Ampersand may your recovery be swift and pain-free
1) there is a vaporetto stroke today but the canals are no less busy - first pleasure watching all the water taxis and gondolas
2) Bellinis at Harry’s Bar - just the one but we sat there a long time people watching and the waiters didn’t hurry us - the loos are also very beautiful
3) walk along busy little streets to a restaurant where the locals dine - extremely good and reasonable price
4) the pleasure of taking off my socks and shoes when we got back and placing them on the cool of the marble floor
5) the last pleasure will be pizza and salad on the group of 8 - mum and I have already bought the salad and others will go get the pizza slicesMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Hello.Up early. Big shiny moon.Went to CP. We had a lovely walk though I did need my wooly hat on! Did a bit more painting. Put the new bedding on in the wee room. It’s almost done. And niece took away the spare mattress today that’s been in my blooming way for weeks!Niece and great nephew arrived early afternoon. I thought we were all going to go swimming but they never brought their things, Nah! ( grrr as I would have swam this morning) but we did go a lovely walk this afternoon. They left ( with a spare mattress) and I went for a later than expected swim which was nice. Sun still warm enough.
Late in the working day email from solicitor and a smidgeon of a maybe! Take it with a pinch of salt.Sister had called this afternoon and I spoke to DD2 when she got in from work.Just had a shower and jammies on and I’ve just clicked the heating on for half an hour.Had a curry ready meal for tea which was very nice ( whilst DD2 talked…I listened as I ate and said uhuh occasionally 😆)7 -
1-5000 Fuse got the all clear today, there’s finally no blood or pus in his urine test! We are so happy it’s hard to take in! He came down very ill back since Christmas / Jan and had 2 emergency surgeries, one to get it under control, and then again 4 weeks later to understand what we are dealing with. Since then, we have been fighting infection, but the vets’ words where we are there, we can draw a line under it. There may be other things that happen as he was so poorly but for now, he is happy and reasonably healthy, there are some continence side effects, but we can manage it. Such a sigh of relief.
Had a grilled bacon sarnie for lunch
Mowed the front and back lawns, wondering if it will be the last cut.
Grilled fish for tea
The moon looks amazing tonight.
Fuse is currently snoring loudly behind the sofa, he cuddled all the way back from the vets and full of treats.
