For yesterday,
Bbbrrr cold first thing but lots of sunshine all day, the best kind of autumn day.
Busy morning with getting stuff done and the surveys seem to be stepping up again after the summer holidays.
Over the yard and my girlie was in a much better mood, perhaps she suffers from SAD 🤔 no work but a long groom and much fussing. Chat and a catch up with friend.
Meal out with Capt S and friend, food was ok but company was great which is the preferred way round.
I drove home and it was a starry night with a bright half moon low in the sky.6 -
Hello.I’ve just worked up a heat so don’t need to click the heating on 😆
Early schmearly.
Chat to friend as she was on her way to work.
Sat at table and finished second part of script. Sent it off and got the okay for that. Did a bit more work admin /invoice stuff then I have printed off script for Monday. Packed my bag and shut the cupboard door where everything lives! Done!
Chat to sister.
Pup was dropped off.Washing out, in, ironed and put away! All the work outfits ready for next time!
Hoovered, just washed floors ( hence being overheated) cleaned bathrooms and kitchen. And cleaned dog nose marks off the porch glass.Friend popped by to collect something so quick chat with her.
Quick doggy walk with DD2…and goodbye pup!
Had my tea which was a RTC curry and very tasty too !Email from solicitor at 4.45pm…sigh! ( my actual reply was sigh!) they are as frustrated as me trying to chase the bottom of the chain…nothing moves ( literally) till they do!It’s been bright and dry all day. Chilly wind and I’ve had a jumper on all day but just nice to see bright and dry!7 -
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to the coffee morning first thing.
3) Went to Croome NT with smaller son in the afternoon. He wanted to go in the RAF former hospital cafe and look in the orangery, so we did.
4) Stopped at the Millennium Green on the way home where they used to like to play. We picked some mushrooms and looked at the pears but they are not ripe.
5) Mowed the front lawn when we got home.

Hello again.
The weeks seem to zip by, Saturday again already.
Some pleasures:
1) Lovely sunny days with just that little nip in the air and cold-ish nights - just right.
2) 3lb off this week, tried hard and done stacks of walking so feel justly rewarded for my efforts.
3) Sorting autumn clothes and looking for 'gaps' where shopping will need to be done, not a pleasure in itself but will be when we pack for our upcoming holiday. Can always find hubby exctly what he needs, me not so much.
4) Spent an afternoon baking which I enjoy but don't do for us (see 2) above!) so all tucked in the freezer ready for grandson to take to Uni next weekend.
5) A good evening in the local pub in the nerest village with son and DIL, live music on Friday nights and definitely foot tapping so had a bit of a bop (do they still even say that?!) and a smooch to one of our favourites at the end with hubby. Won't see much of him this week as they are set-building for the latest play this weekend and then he's at the theatre every night next week so good to have a night out together beforehand.
And now the weekend, hope you all have a good one.

For yesterday,
Another cold start but lots of sunshine.
Over to see the pony in the morning, first part of the drive is on boring A road but then I turn off to go through the lovely Suffolk countryside where the autumn colours are really starting to shine. Most of the crops are now in so lots of fields being ploughed and prepared for next year.
My girlie stood dozing in the sun while I groomed and tidied up mane, legs and tail. I might take advantage of the dentist sedation next week to take the clippers to her legs ahead of the mud appearing soon. Chat with friends.
An afternoon at home, bit of work in the garden then a snooze on the sofa.
Lazy evening in front of tv, old TOTP’s then the cricket, we won so series levelled.

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Walked into town early on. Not to the centre, so only 3 miles.
3) Can get my favourite size 16 tunic top on again so wore that today.
4) Went to the football with smaller son (FA cup qualifying round) and we won (in extra time) 2-1.
5) Played catch with smaller son in the garden.
6) Watching Strictly now. I want to catch more of this series. I haven't watched weekly for many years. Last year, my friend was staying here for 6 weeks (from the ME originally) and he would shout, "ANGELA!" every time Angela Rippon came on!5 -
1) hosted 25 alumni 'class of 91' at 10am so early start for a Saturday to make sure everything set up - pleasure one is seeing all their faces as we compared today with then - went very well
2) my condition was that I could leave in time for watching the Luton match. amazingly the organiser from the group was from Luton and her grandad a big fan. so #2 is finding luton fans in unexpected places
3) met DrM outside - we were greeted by the barmaid saying 'Luton match is on in the back parlour'. I bought the tea and DrM the toasties. so my #3 is my local
4) haircut so lovely catch-up with my hairdresser. He's just starting uni and very excited #4 is seeing excited freshers
5) and now last night of the proms. #5 is the joy of music (and yes i did enjoy the footie theme start of part 2)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Hello. Just watching a beautiful sun rise. A golden glow this morning.
Yesterday I really didn’t do too much. I’ve had a quite a mentally busy /frazzled mind kind of week. The house stuff is really dragging now. 25 weeks of drag! And any little glimmers of something happening are quickly put on the back burner! So it’s all very uppy and downy. And work has been busy this week which of course I’m grateful for.Anyway up with doggy first thing then went back to bed and had a doze! And most of the rest of the day was spent just pottering around. Had done all housework on Friday evening so didn’t need to do anything extra yesterday.
Had a chicken pie RTC with RTC parsnips and potatoes, peas and sprouts and carrots. And very nice it was too…same again tonight though 😆
Watched some stuff. Chatted to DD2 on phone. And just generally switched off for a bit which I think was needed. Lots of doggy cuddles. It had been a week of in and outs.Went to bed early. And think I slept not too bad.and today is of course a new day!Have a good Sunday7 -
For yesterday,
A visit to the farm shop and the treat of breakfast out, I had a warm cheese scone and very nice it was too, Capt S had his usual snorker bap.
Pottering kind of morning, made a loaf but it didn’t seem to rise much, so much so that I checked the kitchen bin to make sure that there was an empty packet of yeast in there! Seem to bake ok just a little flatter than usual.
At the yard and the summer coat shed is well under way, grooming girlie at the moment is like standing in the middle of a snowstorm as all the hair comes out, she loves it of course and points out all itchy spots to human companion. It was lovely out in the paddocks with warm sunshine and a gentle breeze so left her naked with a promise from helpful staff member that he would pop a rug on at teatime. Cup of tea and a natter with pal.
Home and lay on the swing seat for the rest of the afternoon reading my book, it’s in a sheltered position in the garden and can be too hot at the height of summer but on days like these it’s a perfect spot.
Downloaded and watched two episodes of the Chelsea Detective, a more gentle kind of drama and not violent at all so suits me. Then we caught the end of Last night of the Proms and went to bed with Jerusalem running through my head, reminds me of DM’s funeral ❤️
