Me again
Another quiet day.Been mainly dry with the occasional shower.
Went to supermarket as I had another voucher to use by today. Again went round with my calculator! The Chap and the Pup popped over to help me with a work thing.Sold a thing on Vinted so walked up and posted it at local shop. Met a person who asked me about house move ( the only conversation I ever seem to have) thought I’d gone but left my car…yeah because that’s a normal thing to do…one house, car free. I realise people mean well but when you’re saying the same blooming thing…
Had leftover chicken pie and veggies for tea

4) Made lots of soup with vegetables, lentils and the pak choi.
5) Walked into town and back.
6) Phoned my school friend.
7) Roasted all the garlic grown in the garden. Ate half of them!
8) Watching series 2 of Clarksons Farm.6 -
oops. I've been reading & enjoying but not posting - result mayhem.mhagster - somehow I am unsurprised there has been washing while the weather & light cooperates. Pools can be fun. Solicitor Still Going On?! This other souls karma is in such overdraft they may come back as a politician. Owch poor Haggis & eye infection. Glad your mum's NDN still part of your community. Hurrah linen top - a lovely fibre. Good to hear invoice prepared too. You really should have some down time to recharge! Grinning at the idea of shopping with a calculator running to wring the juice out of a voucher.Frith - good to hear you enjoying Heritage Open Day, even if you had to pour your own tea. And, yikes, the other place sounds massively dubious. Hurrah firewood, chainsaw chap & apple tree plan! Malvern station not as interesting as hoped? Bigger son your personal hairdresser - excellent! "Lovely and cold!" - yes, though my seedlings wouldn't wholly agree. Think they'd love the temple orangery! Congratulations on the return to your favourite top! Hoping virtuous veg soup tastes good too.Highdays - a fortnight & counting to launch?! it's a very exciting time. Attagal having a night out with husband!LaineyT - love dog telling pup "Nope"! Hurrah family "do"! Gazing wistfully at the paddock... Then grumphing at the groom & not even getting any treat from the vet. Getting heating oil laid in - I should wash the fleece blankets... A starry night? Envious, we have cloud. Love contemplating sneaking the clippers whilst sedated. Chelsea Detective, eh? currently I'm bingeing Sewing Bee with outbreaks of Midsomer, but a gentle murder sounds intriguing.VJsmum - you got to ICT and got to the beach - Excellent!Purple kitten - awed at the amount you pack in between not feeling right. Bulbs need time, dashit.DundeeDoll - I do love Sandra Bullock films - they're usually very funny. Giving her serious stuff even more ulp. Love the idea of "bright pink hoodie". Heavens yes "finding luton fans in unexpected places" - your tribe Anywhere when unexpected is a treat.Happycas - rousing congratulations on the wedding & ah yes the "much washing, ironing and packing" but still, better now than after treatment?OS Pleasures recentlyCar passed its MOT! OhThankHeavens.Had a snootch through charity shops, where party of 7 was led by strong-minded young lady of 4. So I explained there are another 6 to visit, that the bottom shelves will have the remarkable fun (as she is uniquely placed to appreciate) & to tow the adults off to Asda for a brew after. Got an appreciative chuckle from the adult & something of an eye roll from the other young folk who weren’t as keen…There are days when I hang into psalm 22 like a rope. A lifeline. Thankful the psalm stays solid, even as I gibber!Playing hunt the mother, came across a lady rejoicing in the surname Lamp-Bentley & wondering what can single life have been like with that on your name tape?!Chucked a modest sum to Wikipedia on the grounds it’s a handy start to moving from utter ignorance to relative ignorance.<weak with laughter> never realised the Goon Show would never have been without this: Famously, Milligan first encountered Secombe after Milligan's artillery unit accidentally allowed a large howitzer to roll off a cliff, under which Secombe was sitting in a small wireless truck: "Suddenly there was a terrible noise as some monstrous object fell from the sky quite close to us. There was considerable confusion, and in the middle of it all the flap of the truck was pushed open and a young, helmeted idiot asked 'Anybody seen a gun?' It was Milligan." Secombe's answer to that question was "What colour was it?"…And I have wandered back into the Goons’ orbit after Middleson’s car number plate is effectively “Chisholm”. Which sounded familiar, if not in my voice so Google & aha! Rabbit hole, wheee! The chatter over Oasis tickets!Ah, crunchy peanut butter… on a lovely crunchy Bonio biscuit - yum. (So I eat dog biscuits - started making my quarter of sweeties go further, as my sisters didn’t want to share, & the habit stuck across decades. The peanut butter is a new discovery!)Ooops, the pinger for the laundry went off mid phone call & I clean forgot to go out…. Let’s see. Not too bad & sunny enough to dry while the bedding washes. Clean line dried bedlinen, yum…In the “you just don’t care” war, I am lauded by both sides as the voice of calm. Which after 28 texts straight takes some maintaining - so far so good!Apparently “the gigolo industry in the sewers is very profitable”, but then Youngest has just realised I’ve sent our first parental contribution…Middleson taking Groom & CoBest man camping by Loch Lomond on a belated stag do & having a ball. Stunning night skies, & he took one of the flaming brands which worked as hoped, & they only burnt a few small holes in the tent waving the brand about… I can feel Himself laughing & enjoying it with them. The shower is not pumping water. We had to empty the bathtub before Youngest was prepared to leave the house “it’s called shame, mum”. How has my mudpup become so scrubbed in public?!Youngest whistled me through one of our fastest weekly shops yet. So long as the meals keep coming, I’m much amused.Just realised he missed a new student online event (or may have done) & I’m trying not to freak as there’s no point. I’m his mum not his keeper. [I did him an injustice, all is in hand. I am so relieved & proud & have a pinch of guilt at doubting.]Middleson has three kayaks stacked in his front room & is muttering “there must be a better way” & I am delighted he hasn’t promptly thought “take it to mum!” (It’s all about space, and air circulation.)Family tree climbing - a Christmas Day born son given Emmanuel as a prefix to the rest of his names. I slightly wonder if it got used much but in 1910, possibly so.Only connect! Gosh those walls, but the missing vowels were hard too.Just met wedding song from hadestown. Fun!Cousin on in-laws side is 21 - I find I’m strangely relieved. Part of me has taken to thinking it potentially perilous. His parents are just glowing with delight - good to see.Scouts are back & have grown! Wonderful to see them & to meet several new faces, including two girl guides who’ve moved over. I’ll be interested to hear what they reckon.A scout mum brought a tub of celebrations in & I feel not bribed but appreciated!Meanwhile the lads have helped me find the bits that turn the vax into a carpet washer, after they came back from watching the new Aliens movie. I am hugely lucky. There’s a queue at the bird feeder. Birds perched on branches awaiting their turn.Home bargains cafe scores treble bonus points for recognising me & for sharing a conversation about autumn & the welcome coolth & the delight of a nice hot drink. Anyone who cheers on the carers gets my approval!Prof Dobrojelski’s (? Jan Dobrowolski?) toast, “to the health of the ladies, for the first time” is a long-running family gag, which he started at a formal dinner & with each repetition got a louder laugh (the number never changed.) My parents enjoyed it, & continued it, & we invoke it & we all still laugh. Good to make mum chuckle.Aldi’s (discounted) lilies still in bud draw mum like a moth, so I got her still more to enjoy. Plus a winebox which she’s approved!I do enjoy time down south with mum, we get to relax & enjoy things together. Pity about the family meeting & a horde of family barrelling into my time (& leave) but it’s the easiest way to share the info accurately.Winding & setting the grandfather clock, then hearing it chime 10 correctly. It’s part of my soundtrack from infancy!Sister’s friend managed to tell Massive Attack she couldn’t work for them as she needed a holiday. Sis utterly awed.Coz on hols in Camargues, France watched pelican courtship ritual dances, & he & girlfriend learned the individual moves & then taught the family when in holiday in Wales. Somehow ran out of time to teach us but treat in store…Sis & I recalling someone’s spoof of the royal review of the fleet “mine, mine, mine, frigate!, mine, frigate!, mine”…. Somehow we got the vowel sounds right back to the early radio queens speech…Youngest nearly went shopping with "emotional support vinegar don’t judge!”…Lovely chat with the bloke who makes the pizzas, ex-army himself & proud father of several serving - one currently in red minding keys, I may see a photo next week.Mug spotting on sewing bee, those are le creuset mugs. Our museum is open today so I’m on leave & pondering matters sartorial. The rain is pruning several branches of the decision tree, which simplifies things! [Ended up in work gear, as footwear could cope with 5 hours stood.]Fellow museum volunteer had never heard of nine men’s morris or hne…tafl & put up with me sketching boards on scrap paper & showing pictures on my phone.Sewing bee, again. Patrick strolling & I recall the sotto voce comment “great white”….Scouts! New arrival watched flint & steel try, and on his second strike got flame. We built the fire, then toasted marshmallows: smoky happy sticky scouts.Eavesdropping on lads moving wardrobe. “‘Ang on a minute, let me think!” The time for that was Before you started lifting…. So far, so good though. And into the car & now further fraternal grunts as it’s hauled upstairs into Middleson’s place. I am penned in the kitchen, listening & waiting to drive Youngest back. [Experience &/or upstairs seems to be easier. Til Middleson realised he’ll have to rotate the wardrobe so he can still use the chest of drawers already in situ. For an engineer, he’s not drawn any floor plans.]Driving home it rained, but we saw a rainbow.Youngest opines he does not want the little bottles of shandy any more but will move on to real beer & lemonade. Which doesn’t need refrigeration “Yes, it does. Standards, darling!” emerged from my lips. Not sure which of us was more shocked at Audrey Forbes-Hamilton emerging.Ah good intentions - “shop early while it’s quiet” - we then both slept in rather more thoroughly than anticipated.“I’ll be over there, waiting for you to stop being embarrassing.” Poor Youngest, he’s in for a Long Wait. The delights of Autumn include stocking up on flowerpots that’ll cost silly money in Spring.Remembered tea supplies were low, so Youngest off clutching loyalty plastic & swag bag. Gladdens a mother’s heart that he gets the very best value but leaves at least one box. We were both a bit startled that we’d managed to drain the stash but we both drink it!More sewing bee and the Victorian sleep set has even me thinking “hm!” appreciatively more so than the silky flimsies, but then I prize warmth over wow for sleep. Love the demarcation where Patrick does waist up & Esmé inspects the underpants.More Only Connect on iplayer - recorded in Cardiff? (And an entire series can be recorded in short time frame - VCM was 8 months pregnant for one & understandably viewers were somewhat bewildered!)Health Strength Love & Courage to all as have need, & abundant layers while the mercury plays hopscotch...7

#1 your updates are as ever an mse pleasure in themselves.
#2 singing in the cathedral choir - I'm certainly not the best but I love it so much and I have been practising more
#3 friend who married a kiwi and is very happy over there is here for his annual visit - meeting up with old friends and chatting like they've never been away
#4 the afternoon with my gbf - we're both a wee bit stressed and I think the afternoon did us both a lot of good
#5 family - my lovely ds, his gf and their cat are up for the week to look after the dogs when we're in Venice. we don't go till tuesday so we have 2 lovely days together. again puts the stress of work into perspective and reminds me I don't always put family first. careers are funny things - always hungry, always wanting more - sometimes we just need to take a step back and reflectMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

There is a variety of crunchy Peanut Butter that is both sweet & salty DFV, just saying 😉
For yesterday,
Let beloved sleep in and us two came downstairs, I’m allowed 20 mins to drink my tea before the spaniel eyes start pleading for an early breakfast.
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge, wow that was a week!
Popped a chook in the oven to roast while I did some jobs in the garden, tomatoes stripped of all unnecessary leaves as we have two weeks of decent weather forecasted and I’m determined to eat at least one of the beefsteak variety! Capt S cut the grass and small dog supervised us both from the back door step.
A full roast dinner then settled down to an afternoon of sport, mixed feelings about the result of the North London derby and then found out that the Manchester weather had put pay to the deciding match in the cricket so read my book instead.
Bid and won on a pair of green suede Chelsea boots on a well known selling site, the old Mod in me still rears it’s head at times.5 -

Rubbish sleep ( but nice afternoon snooze 😆) and the most beautiful sunrise.
Work this morning.Home and hello doggy.
Chat to sister.
Hung out a washing then down to CP. Had a lovely walk and a lovely snooze! It was so pleasantly warm.
Went home via the beach. Tide was out and it did me the power of mental good being there. It was still warm ( I’m used to going so early that it’s always cool)
And then home and an email from solicitor…just when you think it can’t get any more ridiculous…well it can! It’s like a very unfunny joke now.
Nice words from the family I was working for this morning. Makes it all worthwhile.Chat to DD2.
And I’m having an early night.5 -

1-5 We’ve just had a lovely weekend away at a steam fair, honestly couldn’t have been better weather wise, we met lovely people. And the ferrets did their part. Also included was entry to the aviation museum and gardens, which was interesting. This is Fuse enjoying a treat. Spent a fair amount of time watching planes come in and take off all fascinating.
6 Not a great drive back due to a shut motorway for a couple of junctions, but I mapped us across an “a road” which was far prettier.
7 I've just taken 2 subscriptions down to basics.
8 Wash loads started, and the line is full now.
9 We did treat ourselves to the local takeaway tonight, but I still put a tenner in the Fuse fund.
10 I started gathering some hamper bits for my brother, I always try and get as independent products as possible, the steam fair achieved honey, hot choc and cookies.
