Enjoy Venice DD
Thinking of Ampersand and hoping she is ok.
For yesterday,
A low mist hanging over the fields first thing.
Then a sunny morning so washing done and hung outside. With my pony, very warm in the sunshine so she went out naked and I sat on the grass in her paddock for a bit, listening to the buzzards keening as they rode the thermals high above us. She grazed around me and come over a couple of times just to make sure that there wasn’t another apple in my pocket.
Home and watered my pots & planters, fed the toms and courgettes.Made a macaroni cheese for tea, am fancying more autumnal food now.6 -
Morning all.
topsyturphy - excellent news about your boy, he's certainly had a long, hard journey to get to this point so well done him. Hope you have a lovely holiday.
Some pleasures:
1) Loving this Indian Summer, just perfect. Hoping it lasts for our holiday.
2) Still getting tomatoes off our free plants, they've done really well.
3) Have inherited another freezer, even I don't think we need four (!) but the others are full so when we get back from our hols I can start planning ahead for December but not thinking about it yet.
4) Hubby's set is in and the play starts tonight, looking forward to seeing it on Thursday.
5) Dermatology appointment this afternoon, hoping to get signed off as my face is completely better.
Will enjoy our walk in the sunshine, hope you have some sun where you are.6 -
1 I received my car insurance through, and they thought wrongly I would like to pay £955, for my 23-year-old car!!I took this to be a please sod off as a customer and took it out else where same level and via cashback for £320.
2 So much washing achieved, only possible with the good weather, thankfully.
3 HM chilli for tea with proper brown rice, and extra leftover Rice to go with chicken for tomorrow's wraps.
4 Popped out to pick up a prescription and dropped into Aldeee for the weekly shop.
5 Swept and mopped up the whole house, nice when it’s done for a few minutes.

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to floody town for my prescription but the doctor hadn't sent it to the pharmacy. It is not a good system (I've never had a repeat prescription before in my life) and has taken 3 logs ins to the NHS, 2 identical surveys texted to me, a phone call and a visit to the surgery and the pharmacy so far with another visit tomorrow!
3) Went to Ludlow for the charity shops but didn't buy anything. Had lunch in Bill's Cafe on the square.
4) Played catch with smaller son.
5) Took smaller son to Tesco.
6) Bigger son is going to Barcelona for his birthday and says he would like money rather than a present.
7) Caught up with the penultimate episode of Race Across the World.
8) Bright day today and the washing is almost dry on the line.5 -
Hello. Bedtime. Just been outside to look at the moon.
Early schmearly.
Pup dropped off.
Me and my dog boy went to CP…pup looking out the porch window as we left…he gets picked up and is out for a few hours.
Lovely walk when we got there, then I went for a swim and a huge big chatter! Chatted for ages to two other ladies…then we’d swim and chatter more. But how lovely to be swimming outside!Did a teeny tiny bit of painting. Had bought a new runner rug. That just goes perfectly.
Walk before we came home. Watched the combine harvester.
Met friend as I was coming out the car so had a chatter.Pup dropped off, just after we got home.
Hello solicitor on the phone…more deep sighing.
Then quick in and baked potatoes in the oven, then went for a shower and got ready to go out to a fundraising event.Friend arrived and we ate our baked potatoes with RTC coleslaw and cheese and salad.
Very noisy evening but met up with friends so we all sat together.
And home…then DD2 picked up pup and we went a quick walk as sun was setting beautifully.5 -
For yesterday,
A couple of hours doing sloggus domesticus, bedrooms and bathrooms, as always the pleasure is only when done.
Postie came with a small parcel of books.
Over to the yard, groomed my girlie and then waited on the vet, finally turned up at 2pm. My girl was sedated and he did her teeth, couple of sharp points on one side which had been rubbing but they were quickly rasped down. So much better now they use battery powered rasps. Made a cuppa and sat with her while the sedation wore off then turned her out.
Was hungry all day so leftover macaroni cheese for an early lunch then made a quiche lorraine for tea, or as DM called it and egg & bacon pie.
Was a full moon but around 7 a big bank of cloud rolled over so nothing seen, the cloud itself was very impressive and looked like something out of a disaster movie!

1 journey straight forward. Bus from airport 10 euros then we walked to the appartment
2) had brought a cheese roll which I didn’t eat so that was perfect for breakfast
3) then coffee at hotel metropole and a good catch-up with the others (we’re 7) and a friend from Venice who joined us
4) then very good art exhibition
5) then we shared pizzas overlooking the lagoon. 15 euros each including Prosecco and tip so thought that pretty mseMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Back to floody town to collect my prescription. A new problem today - they didn't have it in stock and were not in the mood for checking when it might be back in stock, thank you very much. Eventually managed to get the paper prescription off them to try other pharmacies. Did take a library book back while I was there.
3) Off to a big Boots to get the prescription. Only given 3 months worth. Looked at my text from the doctor which said 6 months. Texted surgery. They only give prescriptions for 3 months, against what they told me a few days before... At least it is done now - for 3 months!
4) Had my eyebrows threaded.
5) Had a bowl of soup in M and S.
6) Changed my bed, hoovered all the downstairs and the stairs, did a load of washing. Emptied the pots that were past their best on the patio, cleaned all the cat bowls, tidied outside. Dusted inside.
7) Still sticking to the BSD but made smaller son a sausage and egg sandwich just now.
8) Phoned my school friend.
9) Looking forward to watching Race Across the World in a minute.6 -
Hello. A bit earlier to bed tonight.
Early schmearly. Beautiful sky filled with stars and full moon at one side and daybreak creeping in at other.
Gentle sunrise ( and a gentle sunset tonight)
Hello pup…goodbye pup ( pup is a fully grown dog now so can be left) he was being collected in about half an hour then he’s out about 2.5-3 hours with his dog walker.
And off we went to CP via garden centre for a cheese scone. Christmas stuff out…me I don’t need…also me, it’s pretty!
Beautiful walk. I actually wish I could bottle it up! Sun, blue sky, harvested field on one side, other side still to be done. Changing colours of trees. Leaves pitter pattering down. Finding conkers all shiny. Just being out with my dog. Then left him to go for a swim. Oh my goodness! It was just so perfect! Sunshine. Blue sky. Trees changing colour. Birds singing. Warm. Lady I met yesterday was there and we just chatted for ages, then we’d swim and chat. And just talking about everything! Then time to go and feed my doggy his lunch and eat my scone.Nice drive home. Hello Pup. Granny’s home! He’d probably just been in half an hour before us.Work call so next service booked but not meeting family till next week.Chat to sister.Did a washing and hung it out , about 3/4 dry which was fine as it was later when it went out.DD2 picked up her dog boy and we went a nice walk, said hello to some ducks.Had made an extra baked potato yesterday so reheated it in the airfryer and had with the remaining RTC coleslaw and salad.
Watched the day fade out listening to the birds with the patio door open. Then had a quick peruse of the garden looking at the stars. Big moon out the front.
A good day despite radio silence about house ( or maybe because of 😆)7 -
