PK yep it’s open air but only open till last day of September !Change of plan as The Chap had to nip to work for something. Way the other end of next big town so we didn’t go swimming. Went for brunch instead. They had brekkie and I had a baked potato.Their washing line snapped so I said use mine so it was all actually dry. They took the excess soup away too.
I’d a snoozette this afternoon. With the sun coming through the big window.
Picked something up for free for friend that someone local was giving away. Popped in to see friend in same street but just the big son in so had a nice chat with him.
Curry meal for tea.Lovely sunset but that’s it dark just before 8pm7 -
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Had a phone call from a voluntary job I had applied for. I will go tomorrow at 9 to see how it goes.
3) Rained all day so played chess online and watched Clarkson's Farm. I had wanted to go for a long walk.
4) Went to M and S cafe after lunch and read my friend's book. She lent it to me at the coffee morning but it's quite slow reading.
5) Made smaller son a cheese and ham toastie for lunch. We bought some Jersey milk a day or two ago so I then made him a banana and strawberry milkshake. For tea we had chicken wraps with guacamole.
6) Looking forward to Gone Fishing at 9.5 -
Really good news re: Fuse, PK.
🤞re: Sainsbury's, Frith.
Happy reading of others' osps.

1. Wading weather again to HC, crashing downpour usuals. Pinecones one week on.2. Then to BStE after watching our Women's 1st XV moderately walloped by Bury. Slow start+handling errors didn't help. Last week's 53-7 win can't happen every time.
3. Wonderful emporium generosity hier. Was given 6 café bakery cakes gratis, otherwise to be thrown out!
& has never emporium café'd, but nice lady stepped out, pointed to them and asked! Yes, certainly👌💖and handed on👏🤗.
4. Only 2 No More Books today, including John Baxter's brilliant 'A Pound of Paper'. No idea where my old copy went.
5. Post-match this arvo, back in long-loved Abbey Gardens by 17h. Formal central beds look magnificent. Ancient tree roots among ancient stones. Always so good to be there.👌and still the passion flowers are blooming!🤗

3) vaporetto to the guidecca and a lovely wander
4) rescued a poor English couple who’d lost their keys

For yesterday,
A bad night for small dog so a bad night for us too but we all had a lie-in followed by bacon butties and coffee, lots of coffee!
Over to the yard, usually I take a Sunday off but my pal is on holiday so I’m on medication duty. All was well and the beautiful grey one was also enjoying a lie-in, chat to other owners and avoided the heavy showers when they came.
Did the duck legs with figs which were very yum then watched the Arsenal / City game.
Evening stroll, small dog very ploddy so didn’t go far but good to be out and no rain.
Last episode of Grace, looking forward to the new series already, will catch up on Bob & Paul tonight.5 -
Good afternoon. Grey here but so far no heavy rain.
Lots of recent pleasures on our rail trip to Italy
Lake Maggiore - so beautiful and peaceful
Train ride through the Alps to Switzerland - spectacular scenery
Lots of good food and excellent coffee
Good company. Lots of chats and laughs.
Read an excellent collection of short stories by Elly Griffiths. I'm not normally a fan of short stories but these were really good.
Definitely not a pleasure
We both have heavy colds/ covid? (no tests) which made the journey back a bit challenging but we're home now so can rest until we feel better.
Happy grey day everyone

Hello. For today! Up at ridiculously silly o’clock and out with a poorly doggy! I’d had a weird dream ( all my dreams are weird but this was particularly so…woke up went to the loo then thought where is the dog? Hmmm…at the back door next to a pile of sick! So had to deal with that. He’s not been quite right over the weekend. Anyway, we lay on the sofas, I dozed off again and had a horrid dream and woke up in tears. I often dream about my mum and dad now, with me as an adult but in my childhood home. Anyway as I was coming out of dream I knew they had both died and this was upsetting. So two weird dreams and dog sick to start the week off.Chat to friend first thing, local holiday today so she wasn’t working.Went to supermarket to get chicken for poorly pup. Er…it’s a bit chilly and was that a spot of rain.Had a nice long chat with DD1 in Australia. Then home and wrote a list of chores and all but one ticked off. All hoovered and floors washed and bathrooms cleaned and bedding changed. Bit of work admin stuff done.Watching Greys Anatomy…so almost caught up on last series…new one begins this week. Quite ridiculous to have watched 20 series over summer! Says a lot about the weather and my current home situation…
…email reply from solicitors…sigh!Have had the heating on for a couple of hours as had bedding to try and dry off.I will probably overheat tonight as I have the spare bedroom bedding on (thicker quilt, flannel quilt cover ( with very nice koalas on it) and the big throw from my mums…that is so unattractive however cosy! ) so whilst it’s nice at the moment I’ll probably wake up roasted!6 -
I’ve been asked for some parent information on a tight deadline, que me digging out boxes, but I can’t find my mums NI number. One more box to go through tomorrow.
What am I supposed to do with Royal Albert Hall programmes from 1950’s, and his Royal Air Force, airman’s service book, they are going to have to be filed again as I don’t know what else to do with them.
1 Is the leftover Chinese takeaway half price if it also fed us all day today it was both lunch and dinner, well that’s my logic any rate, that, and we need to order half next time.
2 A lot of tidying achieved but finding it a bit draining going through inherited bits, one more box left to go through tomorrow.
3 That fresh bedding feeling for us.
4 Water Butts have refilled with last night's heavy rain.
