Hello again.
Just heading bedwards so quick pleasures for the last few days:
1) Very autumnal weather, wouldn't like it permanently but grey skies, rain and swirling leaves were the perfect excuse for curling up with candles lit and a good book.
2) Hair colour and cut, don't enjoy the process but happy with the result. Fourth time with my new hairdresser and we are getting there - or rather, she is getting it into the right sort of shape as it grows out from previous not-so-good cuts.
3) Grandson is now in residence at Uni, Freshers Week, so hope he is having fun and making new friends. The two other boys wanted to go with him to make sure he settled in his room ok so they all squeezed in the car with all his stuff (Awww...).
4) To my brother's for a delicious meal and to finalise arrangements for our Cornwall trip. We will go down to my other brother's in convoy on Friday, stay the night at his to break the long journey and then all continue down to Cornwall on Saturday morning.
5) A lovely Monday pottering around at home doing a bit of this and that, Monday quizzes followed by a good film on the telly, warm and comfy. Simple pleasures but all the better for that.
Right, off to bed now, sleep well all.

I’ve been asked for some parent information on a tight deadline, que me digging out boxes, but I can’t find my mums NI number. One more box to go through tomorrow.
What am I supposed to do with Royal Albert Hall programmes from 1950’s, and his Royal Air Force, airman’s service book, they are going to have to be filed again as I don’t know what else to do with them.
1 Is the leftover Chinese takeaway half price if it also fed us all day today it was both lunch and dinner, well that’s my logic any rate, that, and we need to order half next time.
2 A lot of tidying achieved but finding it a bit draining going through inherited bits, one more box left to go through tomorrow.
3 That fresh bedding feeling for us.
4 Water Butts have refilled with last night's heavy rain.

Good Luck with it all!

1 Sent off the paperwork requesting info.
2 De cluttering, long overdue, 20 books to move on loaded to the car, and 4 boxes cleared for packing a bit of the living room stuff into.
3 Popped out to Aldee for ferret chicken and picked up milk and bread, the shop was very noticeably “sparse”.
4 Fridge leftovers are remaining veg and leftover cooked chicken together in a soup base for dinner.
5 Packed some bits in the van.

Hello
Just finished with work for the day…not finished as in it’s all done…just finished as in I’m done in 😆…tomorrow is another day for work!Anyway can you imagine the shock when I woke at 6.40am…unheard of! C’mon dog!Out for work this morning, managed to get free parking which is always a bonus.
Popped to bank to deposit work cheques. Nipped to M&S. Back to car. Out to big retail park at other end of town to collect something for DD2. Away to other side of town to drop it off. And home…as the sky got darker and darker the nearer I got to my side of town! Absolutely torrential! First proper rain in what feels like ages! Sat in the driveway for about 8 minutes then thought this is ridiculous…just get wet! I did! Hello doggy!
Friend was coming round this afternoon. Prepped Tuesday Tea before that friend came, set alarm timer to put it on as other friend was coming a wee bit earlier…so it was hellos and goodbyes as they were both leaving /coming in at same time!
Anyway TT was chopped up sausages, potatoes, parsnips and carrots with a drizzle of oil. Into the oven and served with sprouts, broccoli and green beans. All RTC or clubcard price. Pudding was a little selection of lemon drizzle, little brownie bite and a little ice cream cakes thing with sliced apple…so there was fruit! And very nice too. All served with a hearty dose of laughter and chatter.Friend left and then it was sit at the table time and start writing. So I’ve done about an hour but my eyes were getting tired so shall be heading to bed soon. And that was Tuesday…a day with zero house update!6 -

3) and I had bought a sarnie and crisps from the supermarket for my squeezyjet flight and refilled my flask with cold water
4) Costa's at Edinburgh airport always brings a smile - had my flask so saved on ‘reusable cup’ and had a 20% discount treat

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep,
2) Walked to town and back including across to TKMaxx so 5 miles today.
3) Had a cup of tea in Sainsburys cafe.
4) Had a text and I now have a job!
5) Text also asked if I would mind swapping Tuesday to Monday and I replied saying that was absolutely ideal as I wouldn't have to rush and get to football late on Tuesdays,
6) Had soup from the freezer for lunch then made a stuffed marrow for tea.
7) Smaller son wanted to go to Currys to compare kettles and fridges (one of his favourite trips) so we did that.
8) Watched the Great British Bakeoff.7 -
A sneaky extra few now I’m home
1) the sunset from the plane - stunning
2) the walk to mennies - there was no bus and good to stretch my legs
3) a couple of pints with DrM and MrE (MrG had left - DrM said he’d said to MrG he was sure I’d be calling in but MrG has a poorly dog - then a lovely walk home with DrM
4) being greeted by my own doggies - b is still skinny as wotsit but he is bright eyed and waggy tailed
5) the archers - to some I need say no more :-)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

@Purple_kitten - there may be someone out there that collects programs and pamphlets of different kinds. When I was doing research for a television mini-series, I needed to know what time the Illinois Central Railroad came through a certain town on a certain day - and was it on time. My uncle, who was president of the local toy train society, had someone in his club who collected just the time tables I needed and he had noted if they got there when they were supposed to! You might make them available online - someone may need to know who was appearing on a certain date for something they are writing. I still collect things like old scout books and military handbooks, because I am still helping with other people's research.5

Many congrats on the job Frith
My last post seems to have disappeared into the the ether so for yesterday,
Small dog seems to have bounced back and was a happy bunny again ( she had an awful fit early hours of Monday morning and we thought it was the end) it’s such a rollercoaster these days, am sure DD can empathise.
Morning visit to my other girl, we did some work on the lunge and she was very woohoo! As I said to my friend was glad wasn’t trying to stay sat on that!
Lunchtime drive into Uni City for a haircut, gone short and my ears are now cold.
Batch cooking, Spag Bol and Chilli, prepping for heartier freezer meals.
Return of the Bake Off.6
