2 Tidied out the caravan bathroom and packed the winter duvet to the van.
3 Picked up 60 percent of rtcs of for that we will try it, we tried the gnocchi last night, never again for that particular one. Trying some jalapeno fritters and beef kebabs for tea.
4 I finally sold off the animal food, the chap collected it this evening, it was a bit odd dealing out of the back of the car, here’s 6 bags of cat food, thank you very much, more pennies to the Fuse fund, we find out more next week for him.
5 Looking forward to a quiet and de cluttering weekend.

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to the coffee morning and took a pot of chives for someone there. Another man travelled in on his new motorbike so we all went in the car park to look at that.
3) Home for lunch.
4) Smaller son and I went to floody city to take advantage of Heritage Open Day. We looked round a former church with a guided tour.
5) Waitrose after for (finally!) the free weekend newspaper.
6) Made a cooked breakfast for dinner and am now cooking a lemon drizzle cake.
7) Will take the patio door curtains down shortly as I hope the repair cafe will help me shorten them tomorrow.6 -
Hello. It’s been a beautiful day here.
Early schmearly then dozed off again and woke with an eek as I had things to do!Into town. Post office. Pharmacy for DD2. M&S for lunch stuff. Back to car and managed to get parked outside DD2 work so dropped off her stuff.
Then out to caravan. Had a lovely walk. Then painting of the big hall wall. The wall didn’t love the paint. I’ve done three coats but think it will probably need another one tomorrow. It was blooming roasting. We had a nice walk before leaving.
Home and hello solicitor on the phone. The ridiculously ridiculous continues. It was all supposed to be sorted by today and it hasn’t been. I will add without saying too much as I don’t know who reads this it’s not my solicitors fault…further down the line. But it is just so truly awful. So ate some crisps for my tea as that’s just what I felt like!Chat to friend on phone.
Beautiful sunset. And it’s dark at 8.30pm. Bah!7 -

For yesterday,
A misty start to the morning and you could see all the cobwebs in the garden as they were covered in dew.
Into horsey town for a food shop, we have a lot of visitors this weekend so fridge now suitably stocked.
Home and warm now in the sunshine, quick change into shorts which I had thought were put away for the summer. Wiped down the hearth and cleaned everything on there.
Dusting my record player and decided to have a vinyl listening afternoon, long forgotten album by the Bible ( local band ) brought back many memories of living in Cambridge in my mid twenties, happy days. Then moved on to Paul Weller, ‘our’ song is You Do Something To Me and that’s what was playing when Capt S walked in from work.
Oven fish & chips for tea then we rewatched a Strike.7 -
Good afternoon. Grey, misty here
BUT
Yesterday was gloriously sunny for the wedding of the year ( in our family!)
DD and fiance were married outside in a beautiful walled garden in almost too hot weather ( no such thing for me but other people were wilting a bit)
We were so lucky and had a wonderful day with family and friends, a marvellous sax player ( another friend) good food and occasional drinks. Dancing and merriment.
Back to earth now. Tired but happy
May we all have days like this in our lives x7 -
So glad you had a lovely day Happycas !Early schmearly.Went to caravan. Had a nice walk when we got there.Holy moly at dried in painting from yesterday! Another two coats today. DD2 came down and we went for a swim in the outdoor pool. It was just perfect! It’s not too deep, the sun was shining and was warm. Autumn leaves were fluttering down!Home. And doors all wide open as it was so warm!Cut the grass. Did a quick washing and hung it out about 3.30pm but it was so sunny it was dried!Got the thumbs up for one of my services. Just waiting on an add on for the second.Have cleaned the bathrooms and ironed. Just to hoover and wash floors. And just sitting just now with doors wide open listening to the birds. It will be dark in an hour.5

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Off to a local church to look round for Heritage Open Day. The vicar suddenly loomed up and said there was about to be an "uplifting and relaxing communion". I said "Ooo!" in such an impressed voice that it made her laugh! Then I looked round outside to let them do the God bit.
3) Also looked round another church and adjoining village hall but it was really disorganised! I poured myself a cup of tea in the end.
4) Went to salty town and looked round the charity shops then went in the library (surprisingly impressive) to print out an application form.
5) De flead the cat.
6) Double episode of Casualty.6 -
Hello again.
Happycas - it sounds as if you had a wonderful day and have made some fantastic memories. Sometimes you just get a day that is pure gold and your daughter certainy had one of those. I'm so glad for you all and send very best wishes to the happy couple.
Some small, in comparison, pleasures!
1) Eldest grandson is all signed up and enrolled at Uni and deposit paid on his accommodation. Two weeks and counting...
2) Three weeks til we go away, started some sorting, will need to go in-between seasons clothes shopping.
3) Nice diet meals so hope I lose more than half a pound this week!
4) On with a really good book and enjoyed an afternoon of reading and napping while the rain did it's thing outside the window, a grey and miserable day here after the glorious sunshine yesterday.
5) Got the very last ticket for a Heritage Open Day event next week, luckily hubby isn't too interested so will have a coffee and wait for me and then we can have lunch and 'do' an exhibition in a local museum afterwards.
Hoping for a better day weatherwise tomorrow as we have our town show and hoping to go along for a couple of hours. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.6 -
That sounds like a wonderful day HappyCas.
For yesterday,
Capt S got up with small dog and left me to have a lie-in.
Busy morning with baking & cleaning.
DSS arrived with DDIL and their new puppy, he was introduced to small dog and instantly thought she should be playing with him but she told him in no uncertain terms that she was too old for that so he explored the garden instead which included some digging! So much energy and then he just flopped down to sleep. Warm in the sunshine so we sat outside and caught up. DSS put up a new garden gate that he’d kindly made for us then they drove on to see friends and I left for the yard.
My pony was very sleepy in the heat so long groom and a turnout.
Got a lasagne out of the freezer for an easy tea then we finished watching Strike, can’t wait for the new adaptation.5
