Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to Waitrose to do the crossword in the weekend newspaper. Also saw some orchids reduced to £1.99 so I bought one for me and one for my friend.
3) Met my friend in Cafe Nero and had a good chat with her.
4) Cleaned the fridge and the microwave.
5) Had a chat with my neighbour about the cats.
6) A Sainsburys order - hoorah!
7) Reading my autobiography by Rylan. Got it for 20p from the Sainsburys swap bookshelf.5 -
@Purple_kitten - give Truffle some extra hugs from America. Will be thinking about you. Hoping things look up for the weekend trip away.6

Bless little Truffle, hope he rallies again 🤞
For yesterday,
Bathrooms cleaned and made the most of a bright, sunny day to dry washing outside.
In the garden, this time of year it’s mostly about dead heading and my never ending battle with bindweed, small dog found a sunny spot and fell asleep in the grass.
As always time spent with the beautiful grey one, bit of work done and then a gentle meander around the farm. Now that the hay has been cut the farmer has let jumps be put up in the field and others have been making the most of it, I’m not so keen on leaving the ground these days!
Drove out to cathedral city to meet my bf for a meal and a catch up, it’s getting on for 40 years since we first met.
The wind had really got up during the evening and the trees were swaying wildly on drive home, was glad to get back.7 -
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to the coffee morning and had a lot of games of Connect 4.
3) Made egg mayonnaise sandwiches for lunch.
4) Brought the washing in (after 2 days of intermittent rain!) and changed smaller son's bed, did another load of washing and put it outside.
5) Tidied up a bit and smaller son made rocky road.
6) A man came to do a housing survey for the district council. I will get a £20 voucher for my cooperation.
7) Made a big batch of tomato sauce then meatballs and spaghetti for tea.
8) Watched bits of the Olympics.
9) Just watered the tomatoes and pots and picked raspberries and blackberries.

Oooh it’s dark already!Up early.
Big chat to sister. She wasn’t very enthusiastic about my purchase on Monday and didn’t mention it till Wednesday and said you’ll need to send me pics. So I did of a horrid derelict caravan that I said just needed a good scrub. And then a horrible interior of another. Anyway she believed me and I spent the day chuckling! I came clean this morning! Still made me laugh 😆
Made lentil soup with a free onion, free potatoes and paid for carrots 🥕.
And went down to said purchase! Had a good but breezy walk with dog…oooh all the new smells to be smelled…then into the caravan with all its smells! Windows open. Kitchen worktops/cupboards washed. Windows cleaned. Will be back tomorrow.
And home. Had two bowls of soup. Leftover in a tub for DD2 to take home when she collected pup.Went down to other side of town to big supermarket. Got bits and pieces for new to me home from home.
And was just going to hoover when friend called so that never happened!7 -
Ohh Mhags, you have my sense of humour, I would happily do that to bruv.
1 I fed the roses and tomatoes. We have a total of 2 tomatoes picked to eat, one cherry orange and one large red.
2 I mowed the front garden, but left the back one as it's supposed to be very hot, and the animals like the slightly longer grass to cool in.
3 Spent a break in the garden, barefoot, just staring at the trails of planes.
4 Roasted a duck part, served with pancake things, cucumber, and hoisin sauce for a change. I’ve never mastered how to slice the cucumber thinly, thou.
5 Truffles is still determined and with us, he's had lots of snuggles when he wanted them, I made sure he knows he's had a USA cuddle (weenancyinamerica).
6 Did I really get anything done that I wrote on my list, nope, and not feeling guilty about it.

For yesterday,
Over to the yard early as other things to do, equine girlie was groomed and fussed over, day off today so left her snoozing in her stable.
Home, quick change from dirty, hairy yard clothes and small dog popped in car to take to hydrotherapy. While I was waiting I got chatting to a nice lady with two GSD’s, one of which was a therapy dog for non-verbal kids. That one wasn’t the poorly one so lay quietly on the floor, the other was and in for a round of chemo ☹️Home and we both had a late lunch before a lazy afternoon, me reading and her asleep in basket.
Capt S finished early so spent an hour in garden, watered and tidied up veg planters.
Easy tea of egg & chips then wandered down to the pub in the village for a drink in the beer garden, small dog came too and enjoyed the outing.5 -
Up early.
Out to skinny malinky club. Wasn’t staying.Because I had a caravan to go to!Dog walk when I got there.Spent most of day there. Cleaning. Four bags of rubbish ( why would you not just take it with you? ) and three bags for charity shop. All curtains down. Not my taste at all! And cushions in bag too. Had planned to put them in charity bin at supermarket but it was full, will go next week.Had a FaceTime chat with DD1, she was on the train so I had to remember the stations!Niece and great niece and great nephew came. They will come and stay for an overnighter when I’m all sorted out. Want to get rooms painted /decor etc before then. The boyo had fun at the park. They helped with curtain taking down! Then DD2 and pup arrived. So they were all there for about half an hour. Then the niecelys left. So DD2 and I did some more cleaning, she hoovered and wiped over kitchen again. And I did the loo and the shower room. Had all the windows open and thankfully there was such a good breeze. Then we walked the dogs. Turns out there’s a bit they can be off lead. So they both had a run. Not that I really want H to be running too much just now. But it’s not mad like at the dog park or at the beach.Anyway they left and we sat in the peacefulness! Then time to come home. Nice drive back.Had taken hoover with me so hoovered the car in the driveway when I got back. The usual half a beach! I have work on Tuesday so always like to have a tidy car.Brought washing in, sorted it into needs ironing ( tomorrow morning job) and folded .Put some kitchenware from caravan in a hot wash in the dishwasher. A decent dog water bowl and a couple of deep oven ware dishes. And was watching Casualty when DD2 phoned me, which was a bit bizarre but she was very uncomfortable where she was walking the dog, a chap was following her. Anyway talked her till she got home. But I had to ask her leading questions. Not very nice. But she’s home safe and front door locked. So I shall watch the rest. Feel rather tired so hopefully 🤞 sleep better.6 -
At 1.30am this morning, Truffle passed away in my arms, knowing he is very loved. He was humbling always looking at us adoringly, he was a treat fiend and gave us the impression of always being interested in whatever we were doing. He loved being inside, free roaming, and truly loved his time with us in the caravan.
1 What is it with Boursin that makes it so moorish, this week’s habit is 2 crackers and Boursin.
2 Out in the garden, DH heard the neighbours window cleaner this morning and looked up at the soffits etc and was miffed they are/were grubby after he cleaned them last October not quite doing the maths in his head and so the grumbles and ladder came out. I think it’s the last time he’ll do it, time to ask the neighbours window cleaner to include us, I think.
3 Dinner is leftover quiche slice, cooked chicken, salad and obligatory oven chips.
4 A soak in the bath.
5 Appreciating the time we had with Truffs, feeling very heavy hearted.
