For yesterday,
Another very warm day, felt muggy but not a drop of rain unfortunately.
At the yard and just a bit of gentle groundwork to loosen up my girl’s muscles followed by a cool wash down. It’s getting on for 7 years now since she first come into my life, she’d obviously had a bit of a beating at some point before we met as she was terrified of anything long and thin including hoses ☹️ Now she relishes a nice bath, warm or cool.
Long chat with my bf and told her about previous day, she’s never met that particular person but wisely commented that it says far more about the state of her own life.
Snooze on the sofa then a nice breeze got up so I did a bit of deheading and watering.
Tasty tea, spicy ribs with salad, cheese & grapes followed by a square or two of chocolate, so three course meal really.6 -
Hello all - still sat here not doing much.
Pleasures recently
1. visit from a friend. SHe brought me a pressie from the festival we were both meant to be at.
2. DS had a fab few days experiencing the train cab
3. reading in the garden - enjoying my book about an octopus
4. being able to walk round much better using the side of my foot.
5. left over curries from the freezer for tea.
Have a great weekend all.I wanna be in the room where it happens6 -
Hi everyone, hope you've been enjoying the warm weather.
VJs mum - so glad your boy is having fun, I often think about him and wonder how he is doing. Really living his dream, good for him.
I've had a couple of difficult days, my mum's two year anniversary yesterday and the run up was hard although the day passed quite well. This year seems to have been tougher than last, she does feel a long way away now and I miss her so much.
Anyway, to some pleasures:
1) My back is much better, thank goodness. It was very painful and then almost overnight seemed to stop hurting. Good, I'm a big baby when it comes to pain.
2) A couple of days out with little fella and we were joined by middle grandson one day for lunch out and the latest Minions film. Lovely air conditioning in the cinema was a real pleasure and we had a good laugh about hubby and I saying we were 'going to the pictures'.
3) Long chat with oldest grandson, so lovely to be amongst young people and getting their refreshing take on life. We must seem very old to them but I'm still a teenager in my head and I love how they often call in for a chat. Aww!!!
4) Bit cooler today but it's been too hot this week to do much in the house so a nice, lazy week. It's felt like a holiday all week.
5) Treated myself today to a real newspaper, lots of interesting and relevant-to-me stuff in the supplements even if the 'proper' news is dire.
That's all from me for now. Enjoy the weekend,7 -
Hello. 10pm and it is DARK! Nooooooo!Up early and out to beach was just us and then the blooming spaniel that the chap had no control over a few weeks ago started running towards us…my doggy voiced his displeasure and he left…chap had no control today either. I’m like it’s 5.30am it should just be us!Anyway home and out to skinny club. Was 3lbs lighter ( surprisingly) stayed for a wee while but had to pop to vets to pick up meds.Supermarket then home.Walked up to shop to post a Vinted parcel. Walked back the longer way and came past mums house. I’ve been having lots of dreams recently and the garage side door was open and it was as if my dad could just have been in there. I’d a wee moment. My dad was always in the garage/shed / garden/ under car bonnet!Went to dog park with both dogs but it’s been too much for my old boy and he’s limping again so vets on Monday I think for some pain meds. He wants to chase the ball .
Went to see a mobile home on way back. Lovely site in a country setting. Hmmmm…consideration being made! Depending on what happens!
Home and tidied up. Hoovered , washed floors , cleaned downstairs loo.Sisters in law visited which was nice. They always fill me with joy when they come.DD2 and The chap and the pup came over too so it was a bit loud and a bit busy with the dogs, especially as my boy just wanted peace and quiet! He cuddled in with one of his aunties.Had to put the lamp on! My goodness!8 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) I woke early to find the local cat (no owner) sitting on my bed, staring at me intently!
2) Did various cleaning and tidying type jobs throughout the day.
3) Went to watch our football team and they won 2-0.
4) Ate rocky road, cooked by smaller son yesterday.
5) Panini for tea.
6) Spoke to my school friend.
It is now technically smaller son's birthday - 21 !7 -
Happy 21st birthday 🎉 to smaller son!
For yesterday,
We went out for breakfast at the farm shop, sat in the conservatory part as they had the windows wide open and the early morning rain smelt lush.
A pottering kind of morning, changed the bed and sorted through some books for re-homing, the local cattery sells them for charity.
With my big girl, bit of work done then she went out in her field and her Mum had a cuppa & a catch up with fellow owners.
The hay harvest is now finished at the stables and all the bales stacked up in the big barn, ready for winter. Smells wonderful in there.
Steak burgers and salad for tea, few games of Yahtzee then we watched an old episode of Strike.

quick pleasures as loading up the car and a trip to the dump awaits
1) the hanging baskets across town - absolute joy
2) the Olympics - enjoying sports of all sorts
3) having the house to myself yesterday morning - cleaning, sunshine, writing my talk for my interview on Tuesday, repeat
4) finding another box of my new crockery set again reduced from £60 to £30 - think 12 settings is enough
5) 2 of my premium bonds came up for small wins which will go nicely towards the fact i have found out i will have to go to the passport office due to not having enough time between work trip and holiday (friend had assured me i didn't need to send in my old passport, i do, he then after much memory searching remembered he didn't because his old one had expired d'oh)

Hello. Sorry. Been AWOL for a while but back now.
Had a trip to Devon. Can you believe we've never been there before. Lots of pleasures
The weather. Bit too hot for most people but 'too hot' is not in my vocabulary. And I just love warm evenings.
Lots of new places and experiences. Loved Buckfast Abbey. Would move in if they'd let me! They even have a Cadfael type physic garden!
Enjoyed the ferry to Brixham - very refreshing on a hot day.
Too many more to mention but walked miles. And Devon seems to be uphill whichever direction you go!
Also lots of friends and relatives were there at the same time so we had meals/ drinks with DD and fiance/ next door neighbours/ in-laws-to-be at various times and locations. So lucky!
And now home. It's much cooler but still lovely, and warm enough to dry the washing. And it's good to be back.
Happy tea time everyone

Hello! Currently raining though has been dry most of day.Up not early! Having woken myself up screaming at midnight and seeing my reflected shadow on my bathroom door screamed more. In that moment I was absolutely terrified! No idea what I’d been dreaming about. Poor dog listening to that! So took me a while to get back to sleep.
it was 6.40am when I woke which is late by my standards!
Pootled about this morning, hung out a washing. Was very windy.
The lawnmower was dropped off and then utilised straight away…just as well as half hour later the rain started. Did a bit of snipping and weeding in the garden . Picked a big bunch of sweet peas .Dog not so limpy today thankfully but will try and get him seen at vets to get checked out. Don’t like to think he’s sore.Just ( fingers crossed) finished a script that family wanted a couple of last minute bits added.Spoke to a couple of different neighbours when I was cutting the grass…no, I don’t know what is happening with house! But it’s almost a new week…who knows?5 -
