Glad to hear the op went well vjsmum and that your service hit the right spot with the couple mhags. goodness last time I posted was last day of my staycation. Work has been busier than ever, with colleagues off (both planned and unplanned) so juggling to make sure all is covered. Pleasures since then

2) MrG's a season ticket holder and sat a few rows behind so we met him after and got a lift to the pub for a celebratory pint (hasten to add he dropped us off, took his car home, walked back by which time I'd got the round in)
3) glorious Saturday and a bbq - lovely catch-up with a colleague i haven't seen for far too long
4) The Olympics - loving every moment so with you there ampers - watched Murray / Evans last night and was late to the pub where we then watched the day's highlights while the musicians played ceilidh music in the front parlour

For yesterday,
Driving to the yard first thing and listening to more Natalie Haynes, it was Artemis on the way there and Spartan women on the way home as the distance is just right for an episode.
Leg stretch for my girlie, she was intrigued by the gardener’s hat which was just visible above the fence beside the lunge pen and kept looking at me as if to say “ can you see this Mum?”. We walked down the road afterwards and she went past a combine & tractor without blinking.
Too hot in the afternoon so small dog and I stayed cocooned in the living room watching Sense & Sensibility, as always I cried at the end.
Chicken kebabs and salad for tea.
Gentle stroll under the beech trees in the cool of the evening, small dog checking for smells.

Hi all - still laid up, still not doing much
pleasures recently
1. enjoying the olympics - as ampersand said the Brits (especially Tom on his bike and Alex on his arms(🤣), bike and feet). But also appreciating the excellence in others - especially Simone Biles and the swimmer Marchand.
2. reading in the garden - i do not understand the concept of 'too hot' although it is very close.
3. went out yesterday. A visit to MiL's and a trip to a restaurant using her mobility buggy which was fun. Was kind of hoping she might offer it on loan but no. I can't ask her as it'll send her into a tizz.
4. friend's daughter turned up to see her as a surpirse for friend's 60th birthday. DD lives on the other side of the world so friend was not expecting it at all. I feel so pleased for her (vicarious pleasures are still pleasures, right?)
5. getting on with the marking.
I wanna be in the room where it happens6 -
Hello from the garden.
Day started off wet. Dog’s limp seemed to have disappeared overnight but didn’t want to risk a beach walk ( he runs)
Worked for an hour and then went to visit a friend. Took them some garden flowers.
pup was dropped off
Back home and got stuck in and finished my script. Sent it off and got lovely feedback straight away.Took myself and a library book out in to the garden. And that’s where I’ve been since. It’s just been the right amount of warm for me ( don’t do hot)
Chicken and veg for tea
walk with DD2 then they went away and I came back out and have just finished book. What a lovely easy reading story .Will be in soon as the midges will be out!9 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep. Smaller son woke me up to put a bumble bee out through his window.
2) Cleaned the bathroom. So hot! Then had a shower when I finished.
3) Went to Waitrose for the free newspaper and did the prize crossword.
4) Cleaned the kitchen window and the patio door. Too hot for that as well.
5) Went to the Range for bits and have been doing some embroidery.
6) Watched bits of the Olympics including Clare Balding crying when Andy Murray was knocked out.
7) Made a roast dinner.7 -
For yesterday, Lammas
Up early to bake a loaf as is my tradition, also changed the decorations over on my mantlepiece to a harvest theme.
Not really a pleasure as received via messenger a nasty comment about my life from a so called friend who has form for such bitchiness, younger Lainey would have bitten straight back and gotten into a row but I let it rest for a while before replying. Getting wiser as I get older ha ha. That said have no place for that kind of friendship so will not be contacting her again.
Soothing time with my horse, just what was needed!
29 degrees in our garden and for the first time in my life I have a heat rash, my lovely man was in cathedral city so he popped to the SM there and picked up some calamine lotion together with a fresh cream scone each as an afternoon treat.
Watering the garden and we should be eating homegrown tomatoes soon.

Currently raining…the kind of rain that’s good for the garden …as long as it remembers to stop! After yesterday’s beautiful day it was a bit of a disappointment today not to be as nice but was dry ( and windy) till about 3.30pm. Got washing dried though.
Up early. Beautiful sunrise. Was a morning of life admin/ work admin. Never off the blooming phone!‘nice’ chat with solicitor, nothing new happening but she’s ever so chatty!Went out for lunch with DD2, who had a day off. Was nice, we shared a panini.Have came upstairs early as I’m just going to start a new book.7 -

3) Popped out for some string for the birthday decorations.
