Hello. Hope you’re following post op advice and not doing too much VJsmum
After I had posted here last night we had a huge downpour of rain, whilst I was talking to friend on phone and then it was thunder and lightning ( which I don’t like)
Anyway finished call, took myself up to bed planning to read, obviously fell asleep straight away and woke about 10 minutes later at 8.50pm…only I thought it was 8.50 am on Friday morning…well I jumped out of bed so quickly, thought I’d missed my hairdressers appointment at 8am, I had work at 10.30am oh my goodness I was in such a state! Couldn’t believe it when it was 8.50pm and still on Thursday night!Anyway I re-woke at 5am on Friday and took dog a shorter walk than normal as he had a bit of a limp yesterday evening. But it was nice and peaceful.
Then I was at hairdressers for 8am!
Work went well. I got a beautiful card and chocs as a thank you which was so kind. The card had such beautiful words.
And then it was home and time to sit and start the next service. I had said I probably wouldn’t start it till Sunday but I cracked on and it means I have Sunday free. ( although a day is a day is a day to me)
Had RTC food for tea.I’m just going to get hoovered and floors washed and bathrooms cleaned as I’ve a wedding to get dolled up for tomorrow! Travel arrangements all confirmed.6 -
Sending healthy healing vibes VJSMUM
For yesterday,
A quick scale up Mount Ironmore, the only downside of summer is the few bits of linen that I like to wear.
Morning visit to yard as equine pal had her physio session, he wanted to watch me working her but no problems spotted and she enjoyed her massage afterwards.
Home for a late lunch then made a loaf and some fruit buns, one of which we had warm with our afternoon cuppa.
Cricket watching, the test and then some of the Hundred.
Made a chicken tikka for tea, no rice but we did have a mini naan with some raita.7 -
Get well soon, VJsmum. That operation is a bit nippy, from what I've heard.
Pleasures for yesterday (Friday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to the coffee morning locally. The quiz has turned into the quiz master just asking me questions from his book then we discuss what the answers might be (usually history questions) before turning to the answers.
3) Went to Waitrose afterwards to do the prize crossword and to get the free paper and food magazine.
4) Someone had over ordered bread so were giving away several loaves outside their house as I drove home. I took one and sliced it up then put it in the freezer.
5) Made a falafel wrap for our tea.
6) Went with my brother to the forest of Dean for his work. I should have gone for a walk as the views were amazing but I read the Waitrose literature and did a meal plan! On the way home we saw a wild boar at the side of the road.
7) Smaller son was in a good mood when I returned and had not only booked tickets for the football (later today) but had booked seats! So no standing.6 -
Me again!
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Porridge and a cup of tea for breakfast.
3) Managed to whizz the washing in before the rain started.
4) Football! The best match our team has played in for years. It was a pre season friendly and we were playing a team 2 leagues above ours but we played outstandingly well and won 2-0.
5) More free bread today! We chose a baguette. I roast some little cubes of courgette with some chorizo and had that with pasta and creme fraiche. I made the baguette into garlic bread.
6) Made a rice pudding.
7) WIll watch Casualty later.7 -
Hello! Sun is just rising beautifully. Just been up with dog and will no doubt doze off again! Late night by my standards! The most beautiful day ever! A day filled with love and joy and I was happy all day ( and I think I keenly felt the happy due to recent life stuff! )
Up early.
Started back at not so skinny club…Lordy! Heaviest I have ever been in my life but I knew that , could see it and most certainly feel it! And lots of hellooooos! And met a girl I was at a school with and had a great chat with her. We have seen each other since school but probably not in last 5 years!Went to big supermarket as I had a money off voucher …still have a money off voucher! I just can’t spend that amount easily as it’s just me!Then went to florist to pick up my beautiful wrist corsage. Handed in a bag of Percy pigs as it’s nice to be nice! And then it was home to start getting ready! DD2 came over and did my makeup…I do not generally wear make up but most of it’s in a box in a container like 90% of my life! We had quite the laugh!Friends son in law drove us to the venue. About 30 minutes drive away. It was perfect! And then the most lovely ceremony, at which I did a little part of and got a huge round of applause for ( which I wasn’t expecting!) the couples love for each other just shone!A lovely meal.An evening of dancing! The music was amazing. We had a saxophonist on the dance floor and he was great, really upbeat music and oh how I danced! And oh how my hips nipped! Then it was time for Cinderella to get picked up and The Chap came and got us!And the dog who had been at his sisters house enjoying country walks, didn’t even flinch when I came in..a wee wag of his tail in a what time of night do you call this kind of way! I was going to take him a quick walk but he was like leave me alone, I’m sleeping!7 -
Sounds like a smashing day Mhags
For yesterday,
Bit of a lie-in followed by boiled egg and marmite soldiers.
Capt S set to once again with the hedge cutter ( we have a lot of high hedging ) so I pottered around inside changing the bed & towels and then clipped small dog’s claws. She really doesn’t like it and has such a martyred look on her face as she reluctantly holds each paw out!
Swallows are nesting in the feed barn at the yard and you are severely told off whenever you go near the nests, this is the third brood they’ve had so are doing well and guess they will be preparing to fly back to Africa in a month or so.
The beautiful grey one fell asleep in the sunshine as I tidied up her legs, mane & tail, the latter grows really quickly during the summer months, is very thick and makes her neck hot so takes a lot of thinning out.
The treat of a payday Chinese takeaway, small dog loves a prawn cracker.

And I’ve never been very good at late night so have been a bit blah today!Still up early! ( that’s the issue!)
chat to sister.Had a doze for about an hour. And a pottering around kind of day doing nothing specifically.
The lawn mower was borrowed. So they popped in for 20 minutes.
I went out to the garden sofa to ‘listen ‘ to a podcast, heard the start and the finish but not the bit in-between.Been a lovely day here. Nice warm not too hot.Had a curry from the freezer for tea.Chat to friend.7 -
Hello all.
A very quiet few days here, I've either pulled a muscle or got a trapped nerve in my back so moving around is very painful - but so is sitting, walking, bending and pretty much anything really. Hope it sorts itself soon, definitely not a pleasure!
Will find some pleasures though:
1) Some lovely sunny days, meals outside, doors and windows open, summer is here.
2) Quite a few tomatoes appearing on the tomato plants and an abundance of flowers so hoping for a good crop from my freebie plants.
3) Son and partner have been at a 3 day music festival so very quiet on the home front, just eldest grandson to feed at regular intervals.
4) After a month of radiotherapy my brother only has two more sessions and he's done. Hooray!
5) The usual big pleasure of Sunday evening with no work tomorrow. The retirement gift that just keeps giving.
Hope you've had a good weekend and enjoyed the sunshine whre you are.
