Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Weighed myself (heaviest ever) and started the blood sugar diet again. Made Spanish chicken for tea, with 4 portions in the freezer.
3) Spent over 3 hours in the garden, weeding and mowing the lower lawn.
4) Tidying up continues and smaller son cleaned the bathroom floor after my painting.
5) Went to Sainsburys.
6) Watched the Turkish Detective.7 -
🤞this time Mhags
Lovely on the flowers Amps
For yesterday,
Into horsey town for a food shop and saw my young pal riding out to the gallops.
Budget done as last spend before payday, vet fees have already hit yearly target and now making inroads into holiday budget, it is what it is. We count our blessings that there is the wriggle room.
Over to see the beautiful grey one, fuss and a groom then turned her out into the sunshine. Sorted out my box in the tack room as needed my leather hole punch to fix my sandals, found it right at the bottom of course.
My DB came round and we enjoyed a cuppa and a catch up in the garden, not seen for a couple of months so plenty of news to swap.
The bronze fennel is now as tall as me with lots of flower heads, I’m hoping to keep the seeds this year.

Yes, yes....2nd Gallops-y go.
Try again. All just disappeared ½-way through intro words Could have been worse. At first, not a soul up here besides &, idéal.....ah, but yoga ladies have arrived and class now underway. Perfect evening for it, as last week.
1. Outside kitchen flowers include yesterday's 49p emporium freesias. Everyone seems to have hollyhock magnificence this year, & included, also phlox and nicotiana abundance.
2. Oh no! Then Oh well, could have been worse. Extra 18-mile round trip to find.... phew! Bank card was still on village p.o. counter, after & posted a parcel first thing.
3. Back to Town of Horse, into lovely Bank, with lovely S and long, long, long overdue chq finally arrived, finally banked, refunding half what is owed to &. Now to chase the rest, well over £300 again.
4. Found 3 perfect cs £1 rack things to wear, of type sought. Ditto, tall round freestanding lined laundry hamper, with handles - perfect replacement for collapsed container of current crochet afghan blanket squares and just some of &'s million-ty masses of use-up wool.😬
5. Happy 10% discount Tuesday-ness in Food Warehouse, applied to more ½-price goodies. Especially pleased to lug 2 50-litre bags of their top grade multi-purpose compost into Doblo, @£4.50 each. Will fill potato bags tonight, before heading Worcester-wards for tomorrow night's concert.

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Did lots of little jobs early on. Took some stuff to the charity shops, some mint tea bags to the food bank drop off point then some batteries for recycling.
3) Went to Sainsburys for a cup of tea and read my new (from Sainsburys' free book shelf) book for an hour.
4) Went to my sister's birthday tea (at her house). I bought what she asked for but also had saved 2 pieces of Woods Ware from charity shops, which is what she collects. Bigger son and his girlfriend were there and showed everyone their folding tent, that is attached to the roof rack of the car. (Ladder included).
5) Came back and did lots of hoovering. I am trying to get the house as good as possible by Thursday so I can do before and after photos. I will have lived here for one year on Friday.7 -
Hello again,
For some reason I always seem to rock up just before I go to bed!
mhagster - really hope it's third time lucky for you, it'll all come right in the end but what a journey!
Suffolksue - oh, you definitely know where we were then! We were just up Spout Lane from the village hall in Little Cornard. Yes, we did go to Gainsborough's House and Museum and were pretty much blown away by it, so much more than I had expected, just fabulous and very intimate and personal somehow. I had tears in my eyes looking at the portraits of his daughters, so tender, just sublime. And the view from the third floor of the gallery was simply breathtaking. What a treat!
Recent pleasures:
1) The lovely summer weather is continuing in our neck of the woods, really warm but not too hot today with a slight breeze, just perfect.
2) Currently reading and enjoying The Painter's Daughters, brings back very happy memories of our recent holiday as I bought it there.
3) Had run the freezers pretty low before we went away so a couple of shopping trips have topped them up with nice, easy meals for the summer weather. Jut some salads to add and we are sorted.
4) Finished The Night Caller tonight, a good watch and quite thought-provoking.
5) Have made a picnic ready for our day trip tomorrow to a new to us garden about an hour away that sounds delightful and comes highly recommended.A good for ecast too!
Right, bed and my book are calling. Sleep well.

For yesterday,
Bit of sloggus domesticus then it was time to take small dog for her hydrotherapy, Mum read her book and enjoyed seeing her little pal trot back into reception after her ‘swim’.
Warm, sunny day so back door open and the hum of bees on the nepeta.
Listening to the latest podcast from Natalie Haynes, one of my favourite authors. She was standing up for Aphrodite which tied in nicely with finishing the House of Odysseus.
Time with my horse, think we were both a bit drowsy in the warmth of the afternoon so a gentle meander and graze in-hand.
Tasty tea, roasted veg and baked feta pasta, enough leftover for today as well.5 -
Up early.Kind of thought ‘house schmouse ‘ today and just got on with other stuff!Pup dropped off and out for his walk.Sorted my flowers. Picked more sweet peas.I went in to town and managed to get a free parking space near where I sometimes work. Was a woman on a mission. Wanted a black hat suitable for a wedding…I have a black hat suitable for a wedding…it’s in a box in a container. So I had a look around the charity shops. Had a look in the independent shops…not a black hat for a price that I was willing to pay! So no hat for me. I’m not really a fan of fascinators and they often have feathers in them ( I’m allergic) so they’re a no! Anyway went into florist and ordered a fresh flower wrist corsage that will make me happier than any hat! Had a nice chat with the girls there.Got a pair of blue linen trousers that’s still had tags on them from charity shop. And a black clutch.Home. And hello my doggy. Let’s have a cuddle then it was time for pup to be returned from his walk. And a quiet afternoon. Had a tiny doze. Chatted to sister. Hoovered ( after brushing 3 Yorkshire terriers out of dog)
Pup picked up.
Bit of work done . Had printing to do. And then type up my speech for wedding.Today it has looked like it’s been going to pour all day but hasn’t…until now. Good for the garden.9 -
1 DH really wants a couple of days in the van despite or because of being poorly for so long, so after a few days mulling about it I caved and said yup, as long as we can slow it and not overdo it. We already had the tickets to go, but I previously said well we can’t, it might be better to be moving about.
2 Errands ran, DH’s car dropped into the garage, then I drove over and picked up caravan gas, then back via the pharmacy and Aldiii
3 Washing out on the line and just got it in from impending showers.
4 The estate agents have been busy sending properties through, and I thought the right one came up and then it was no, nope, and definitely not. Then I had a little look online with the blurb of “improvable” etc etc. they really do have their own dictionary.
5 There has been a takeaway, it was very enjoyed and leftovers are tomorrow's lunch.
6 A lovely one, I made a vet apt for a very old fuzzie here, who suddenly came up in a hot and awful rash, so I gently washed it and put some oatmeal soak on it and followed it with a cream we had for a previous one with problems and this morning had calmed right down to, what on earth was the problem, so phoned and cancelled the appointment we said to the we’ve never had to cancel it for a “good” reason before now.

Writing from the parking area by the racecourse near The Swan in Worcester. Way more than 1-5 osps in tonight's Spookymen's Chorale concert.
Just fantastic, a completely different audience and vibe from Wirksworth.
Everyone loved them, except - it appeared - the couple who didn't return after the interval. Philistines?
& will now head 150 miles steadily back, finding fuel en route.
Carmarthen next Wednesday. Yum-yum,😁.
Bonne nuit.👋CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
