Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) A bit more painting and glossing.
3) Bigger son came over and stuck some loose tiles back up for me in the bathroom. He had made some props at his work to hold them in place until they dry. Then he managed to take the white glass globe part of the bathroom light down. The underneath part must be the same date as the house!
4) I spent an annoying hour fitting my new (1960s) FB marketplace glass lampshade. Of course the hall light was a weird measurement so nothing fit and I ended up having to repurpose an ancient bakelite attachment.
5) Bigger son and I then went to the bookshop then for a walk to look for mushrooms and toadstools so he could practise identifying them.
6) I've been watching more of the Alan Carr series but need to get up now and have a tidy up.

Picked up an olio order, most of it going in the freezer.
popped in to supermarket as I needed printer paper and got 3 packs of very RTC puff pastry that will go in the freezer.

Hello.
Phew! It's warm out there, may have to put the outside cushions out if this continues.
Recent pleasures:
1) Summer seems to have finally arrived, will make the most of it in case it's short-lived.
2) Some lovely pottering days enjoying being back at home after our holiday.
3) Have eaten mainly out of the freezer since we came back so have avoided having to go shopping. Will need to top up on veg and salad soon though.
4) My sister has ongoing health problems, had another emergency rush to hospital, is now thankfully home again but can't drive. This will pose a few problems as she lives in the middle of nowhere but at least she is home and doing ok and they are monitoring her.
5) Younger brother is over halfway through his radiotherapy and is coping ok.
Grandsons break up from school tomorrow so this feels like the calm before the storm as we will be more involved with little fella for the next few weeks - but that is a definite pleasure!!!
Hope you have the sun where you are.6 -

pleasures this week
OH came back from his holiday - glad to be home and moaning about his mates but, apparently, had a nice time
feeling under the weather but not having to do anything was good rather than b*ggering on
baked a rainbow (ish - 5 layers rather than 7) cake for DD's birthday
Which went down really well as did their pressies
we had a lovely day in London to see Starlight Express
The sunshine and warmth - at last.I wanna be in the room where it happens6 -
Up early and straight out to beach.Husband’s birthday today and it’s been a bit of a teary day for all the reasons! And you know the silly thing that set me off first? I have a felt happy birthday banner that I put up in the window for everyone’s birthday ( even though they don’t live here) and it’s in a box in a blooming container so that started me off.
Anyway I had a howl at the beach ( like huge racking sobs) . Shouted happy birthday to the wind and write HB in the sand.
Home and had a howl in the shower.
DD2 had an appointment in the city so she parked at mine and I drove her to and from bus stop.Sat and did a bit of work. Got the shape of my script done so was happy enough with that for today.Went to TKMaxx . Honestly the amount of traffic in town was ridiculous! Hold ups everywhere. Bought a few nice things. Felt better!Home and brought some pictures and mirrors out of garage ( they were all bubble wrapped) I’m
not putting them all out but I seriously need to feel like I live in my home again. The last seven weeks have been hard and I can’t face another however long living in an empty house.
put curtains up in living room
My house is back on the market. My buyers are too ( they still want to buy mine but need to sell)
DD2 brought me pink roses went a quick walk with her and pup.Home and made tea ( curry ready meal)
and had an empire biscuit in lieu of birthday cake. It was my husband favourite . Shared it with the dog.
lots of kind messages from friends. Which I of course appreciate but I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve written ‘the buyers buyer!’
Moved rugs round. So pinky one that was in dining room now in living room to tie in with new to me curtains. And big one now in dining room and I’ve moved the table and chairs round. It’s been mainly dry ( the odd shower) but very grey all day however washing dried. And of course tomorrow is another day!9
