Many congratulations DD 🎉
For yesterday,
Scrambled egg and coffee for breakfast after yet another rough night.
Sloggus domesticus and made numerous spiders homeless, didn’t do much last week due to heat and they had made the most of my absence.
Early over to see the beautiful grey one, had just finished working her when it started to rain. By the time I had sorted, then turned her out I closely remembered a drowned rat so it’s a good job I keep an old towel at the yard! Sat in the kitchen with my friend and warmed up with a cuppa.
Late afternoon and the rain had stopped so a bit of weeding done.
Dark by 9ish and a coolness to the air when small dog had her last constitutional, last month of summer.5 -
A kind of blah day…living in limbo waiting to hear …well nothing!Up early. Saw two foxes 🦊🦊 when we were out.
Pup dropped off.
Should have had work today but it was rescheduled.
Started a book. And just finished the book.DD2 picked up dog. She stayed for tea.Been a day of so much weather…rain, wind, sun repeat often. Currently dry.7 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to badminton/table tennis in the afternoon. Not as hot as last week
3) Went to Sainsburys afterwards very briefly.
4) Watched the Olympics a bit.
5) Just trimmed the grass with scissors where the mower won't reach and there were hundreds of slugs everywhere! I rarely bother with them but the slug pellets came out this evening.6 -

For yesterday,
Trip into horsey town to run some errands and treated myself to some Fressias from the emporium, they are now sat in a vase on the dining room table making the whole of downstairs smell lovely.
My friend has leant me a book about yoga for horses, made me smile thinking about the two of us doing the downward dog in her field.
So many apples on the tree now and the blackbirds are making the most of the early windfalls.
HG courgettes with the pork & potato bake I did for tea.
Letting small dog out for her last wee and hearing a screech from an owl coming from the beech trees.6 -

I’m having a bit of an off day, our little Truffle, part of a group we took on when a close friend died earlier this year, just loved being away in the van this weekend, has started to shut down. I got up every couple of hours to check on him last night and he’s still with us today. He is still eating and drinking but his sparks gone, miffed I was looking forward to our next weekend away as he loved it so much. I’m still hoping it’s an off day for him.
1 The house is clean again, I did the whole lot, and it took an age to deep clean, I started deep cleaning the wood in the lounge I cleared the surface, sugar soaped, then beeswaxed, stopped to make lunch and before I could blink the clear space had an awning strewn over it. We really do need a place with some extra space.
2 I found a new book I want to try, fed up with the kindle I want a proper book, I’m going to try “deadly animals” as a “proper read”.
3 A bit of an oven to plate meal of haddock bannisters stuffed jalapeño potato skins and baked beans.
4 Snuggles with the Truffle, he likes to be beside us / with us.
5 Not sure if this is a pleasure looking into flooring, we need to put a new floor in the hallway and lounge, as DH isn’t able to do it this time, I’m not sure what to expect with quotes, as we live in an area that makes them rub their hands together, but we don’t live in one of “those” houses…But I’m making a start by tracking down some recommendations to get some quotes. I’m looking around wondering how they do it. As I am happy to pack all the Nik naks away but we have nowhere to move the furniture too, I’m hoping this is a “normal” problem?

aw purple kitten hugs to you and truffle
1) worked at home this morning - i love going into this office but every now and then working at home is a treat
2) also meant i was at home when the dog walker arrived. poorly doggie decided he wanted to go for the walk too and he kept up the whole timethis is his first time out with the dog walker since he was so poorly and we never thought he'd go again!

5) and a long phone call. from ds at 6 - he wanted to congratulate me and we ended up chatting and laughing for nearly 2 hours. i've arranged a call with dd1 tomorrow morning :-)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
