Hello! All the weathers today! Started with thunder and lightning, torrential rain ( could hardly see in front of me driving) to oh my goodness so so muggy when I had a hoody and a coat on in town and then oh hello sunshine this afternoon.Anyway up early. Still dark at 5am.No likey. Then I dozed off and felt worse when I woke!Into town. Lashing rain. Handed in an invoice for my work tomorrow. Rain stopped. Totally overdressed and overheated! Had a mooch round the two main charity shops. There are a couple more but down other side of town. There used to be loads! And home and grabbed my doggy and off we went a-caravanning. Today was clean the cooker! Much scrubbing and it’s clean! Had a nice walk with my doggy boy.My real boy is in NZ at the moment and saw amazing Aurora Australis…great pics.
Home via the motorway….hmmm was fine until I had to let a lorry and a car off the slip road but then had to try and overtake in my tiny wee car that doesn’t like to go too fast! No likey!Call from estate agent. Email from solicitor. I am so so so over it all.Home and hoovered and washed floors.Did some work stuff.Friend called. Had toast and jam for tea.More work stuff. And bed with windows open as it’s so blooming warm …not hot warm just I’m too warm!9 -
@Happycas - what are you doing for your sciatica to lesson the problems with housework? I feel better when I am sitting down, but having problems with work that needs to be done standing up. One of the main advantages of being a family historian is it is mostly done sitting down.7

For yesterday,
Out early and into horsey town for a food shop, no coffee as needed to get over to the yard but did treat myself to some more Fressias, yellow this time.
With my equine pal, she was hot just standing in her stable so did a quick thinning of her mane, slathered some suncream on that pink nose and turned her out, at least there was a breeze in the paddocks and she has some shade from the trees if she needs it. The swallows have all hatched and now gone on their travels, so much quieter without them screaming around the yard.
Home and late lunch followed by a 1.5 hour nap, as my Mum would have said must have needed it.
So so hot, 35 degrees according to garden thermometer, small dog struggled in a fur coat but had her cool pad to lie on.
Tea was rtc poached salmon with various salads followed by blueberries and mango sorbet, yum. Pleased to see Monday quiz night was back, tested little grey cells with UC but left Only Connect for another day.

Pleasures for yesterday (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to Wolverhampton to buy a 1960s glass lampshade from FB marketplace.
3) Went to the sweet centre for baklava and sweets.
4) Went to the little supermarket for halva and bits and was spoken to in Kurdish for the first time in 5 months.
5) Realised I needed a new plastic bit of the light fitting to support the glass shade for went to the ironmongers for that,
6) Went to M and S for a pot of tea and a tin of soup that smaller son had been craving..
7) Went to my brother's work (read in his car) then we parked and walked behind a village hall in the middle of nowhere and watched the meteorites for an hour. Some very good ones last night.8 -
Good afternoon
Wee Nancy - sorry you're suffering too. Have PMd you x
Lainey - another one here pleased that Monday quiz night is back. Always good to see if I can answer more than three questions per episode 😂
Fingers crossed, sciatica is easing. It's now painful rather than unbearable!
A lovely day today so may go and sit in the sun to do the crossword. I'm sure sun is good for sciatica!
Trying to finish off unfinished craft projects such as crocheting a trailing plant ( !! No wonder I have no time to do housework), making a cotton waist slip ( have you tried to buy a cotton one lately?) and using up left over wool to make a small throw. If I could finish one I'd feel I'd achieved something😂
Happy 🌞day everyone9 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep but an early start for...
2) Bigger son's cats! They came to stay for the day as he was having work done in his house. One managed to push the bathroom window open and I found her nestling in the gap, legs hanging out into mid air. The other cat nowhere to be seen. I texted the neighbour, woke smaller son and we looked for nearly 2 hours - in the garage, garden, road - everywhere.
We were just wondering how to break the news to bigger son when we found her, stretched out between 2 storage boxes under my bed! We had already looked there a few times.
3) Read a bit of my book.
4) Played some chess online.
5) Made 4 jars of pickled beetroot after my brother gave me a bag yesterday.

Hello.Almost bedtime. Was dark at 9.30 pm
Early schmearly after a rubbish sleep.I had work this morning. A beautiful service.Home. It has poured all day until 4.30pm…when I put my washing out. By then it was very blowy so it was still just a wee bit damp when I brought it in…thankfully I brought it in when I did as 5 minutes later it was lashing!
Popped into old work on way home from new work. Had a chat and picked up some paint. Then supermarket. And hello doggy just in time for lunch.Chat to sister.A wee snoozette.
Tuesday Tea was BLT (on RTC sourdough) using up tomatoes. RTC chips (tesc0 finest) salad, using up spring onions that were free from olio , hard boiled eggs and coleslaw. Pud was use up raspberries and grapes and fresh strawberries with some ice cream.Chatter and laughter. And very little washing up as I used paper plates as I needed my bowls for sides!Put heating on for 10 minutes to check all the radiators are working and popped damp washing on them . 2 aren’t working properly ( though were pre getting new thermostat doodahs so shall get in touch with plumber tomorrow) A few weeks ago the heating kicked in as the battery on my thermostat ran out and I thought then some weren’t working properly but it’s never been appropriately cool enough to bear putting the heating on!9 -
Thank you @Happycas. It just hurts so much every time I stand up. I wish I had a chair in the back yard right now - will have to get something to sit in and an umbrella soon. We still have two more months of "summer" so it will be used. Even our autumn and winter will still be outdoor weather most days.
I am trying to get in more walking using the walker. Maybe I will be able to fit it in.7 -
For yesterday,
Another very warm night so thankful to get up and have a cool shower.
Lovely friend came with her mobile dog grooming parlour and small one had a short back & sides. She was charging around like a pup afterwards so clearly approved of her new look!
With my other girl, still very hot so she another day off which isn’t going to help the summer belly but don’t think either of us would have enjoyed it, so cool wash down instead and a turnout.
Trip to the vets for small dog’s monthly injection, he was pleased with how the new pain management is working and she was pleased with the treats he gave her.
Inspired by Frith I wandered outside at bedtime to see what I could see but the cloud cover had come over, cooler night though and much more comfy to sleep in.6 -
Hello. It’s went from being ooft it’s warm to being pleasantly cool!Didn’t wake till 5.45am and had dreamt I’d already been up with doggy! So was a bit confused when I woke as to whether he’d been fed and I’d just went back to bed! Poor soul! He was fed just a bit later than usual!
A bit of work stuff to do for next week’s service.
Lovely visit from the family who I took the service for yesterday with a beautiful gift and a card. So nice to be appreciated.
Then up to city on the bus. The city was busy because that’s what they are like…I’m not a fan of busy like that. Did what I had to do then back home on bus. Met a friends mum at the bus stop so had a nice chat with her.
Very warm.DD2 picked up the pup , we went a quick walk and they went home.
And I may try for an early night! ( she says but doesn’t happen!)7
