Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to M and S as I didn't pay for my cup of tea last time (the till was broken). They said I could have it for free for being honest. So had another cup of tea (paid for) and talked to my friend who works there then read my book.
3) Went to Sainsburys and saw some enamel baking trays. I've had my eye on them for ages but they are £11 each. I never go to Argos but I thought I would look online for similar and exactly the same tray is sold at Argos (which is within Sainsburys) for £5 !
4) Just bought potatoes, onions and cat food from Sainsburys.
5) Went to bigger son's house to feed his cats again. I phoned him up to see if I could open the window (their usual exit).
6) Was fed up this afternoon so thought I would write a list and I completed the following:
Rubbish out
Tomatoes and other pots watered
Hoovered downstairs and porch
Cleaned the glass of the porch (i.e 99% of the porch) and the floor
Weeded the beds around the front lawn
Cut the front lawn
Moved my car and weeded and brushed the drive then hosepiped it clean
Moved the home grown garlic from in the garage because something keeps getting in there and throwing it around!
Repotted the coriander in the kitchen
Washing away, dishwasher emptied and yesterday's chutney jars washed down and put away
7) Made jacket potatoes for tea with cheese and beans plus rice pudding.

1 A reminder came up, that it’s 23 years to the day since I moved here, time really does zoooom.
2 Spent the whole day gardening, the maple tree is now in. A vast number of various things done and enough for a few tip runs, oh the temptation to hire a skip sometimes.
3 We laid Truffle to rest under a white rose tree, that smells amazing, there were tears, and one of our guys Rhubarb always senses when I’m sad and came straight over to cuddle me.
4 Just had a bath, surprising how much garden tries to reside in my hair.
5 I have a vase of hydrangea flowers we had to trim some overgrown, as we’ve moved the bird feeders a little closer, look very pretty.

@Gers - I've been to the Willow Tea Room also - just had to get some of the goodies. I can now recognize those chairs anywhere.
@Purple_kitten - that was a nice send off to Truffle. I'm glad Rhubarb knew what to do.5 -
Perfect PK
For yesterday,
Not too early a start - just after 7am - but left Capt S upstairs snoozing and enjoyed a cuppa with small dog cuddles.
Spent the morning in the garden, beloved did another stretch of the hedge while I lifted the larger crop of potatoes. Bit of a shame really as the early wet weather had obviously caused them to have blight, funny it didn’t happen to those in the large tub 🤔 so think I will stick to that in the future. Sorted through and we do have a decent enough amount to store. Tomatoes and courgettes are thriving but the strawberries have never recovered from the rain / snails so lifted those and will need replacing next year.
A well-earned lunch followed by a snooze on sofa.
A little afternoon stroll, the sun now has that lovely, golden glow of late summer, the days march away.
Watched the mens hundred final.3 -
Hello from the land of sogginess.
Up early.
Pup dropped off and as soon as he was picked up for his walk me and my dog boy headed to caravan.
Had a nice doggy walk. We frightened a grouse which flew up in front of us and across the field being very vocal in it’s annoyance.
Finished painting the cabinet doors and did the framework/kickboards. They’ll need another coat. That’s a tomorrow job.And then just as we were thinking of another walk it absolutely bounced with rain. Oh my goodness. Sat for another half hour or so but realised it wasn’t for stopping which it hasn’t.Pup was collected. See ya tomorrow!5 -
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Phoned the bank first thing (I wish the app would work on my ancient phone) and have a bit more in there than I thought.
3) Weighed myself and am now following the blood sugar diet again.
4) Walked to town via the garage and booked the car in for next Tuesday.
5) Had a pot of tea at Sainsburys. I hadn't been for a long walk in a month.
6) My sister is giving away her piano so I will take it if I can pay for someone to move it. It will depend how the MOT goes.
7) Watched Vicky McClure on Who Do You Think You Are?
8) Salad with LO chicken for lunch and Spanish chicken from the freezer for tea.5 -
For yesterday,
Normal Monday routine of a trip into horsey town for a quick food shop and a coffee with my pal.
Sloggus domesticus, this time of the ironing variety, I stuck a podcast on my phone and cleared the basket.
Farrier texted to say that he was 20 mins away, errr I live 30 mins away! Bonus of being on such a lovely yard is that they will help in these situations so when I got there she was tied up and dozing in the sunshine while the farrier did his thing. Seeing as she’d had a pedicure I went on to tidy up her legs and do a pamper before turning out.
Sat on the mounting block watching my pal work her horse, the weather was perfect with hazy sunshine and a pleasant breeze.
Tea was goats cheese risotto, then we watched the Spurs match with a break for Uni Challenge.5 -
Creeps in guiltily - hello again, it's been a while.
Pleasures recently
1. WEnt to Norfolk last week in a caravan owned by friends - we have great friends - overlooking the sea. Weather was perfect
2. National Trust mobility scooters meant i could be independent going around grounds and, in one hall, all over the ground floor.
3. Foot is getting better, but slowly. Like Mhags (but for different reasons) "I'm over it" now - soooooo bored.
4. My boy passed his mock train simulator assessment.
5. Am now back in ICT for a few days - a different window to gaze out of. I can't wait to get out of the surgical shoe.
6. a day out in London yesterday meeting up with schoolfriends for our 60th birthdays. Mine was in December, but i'm still milking it! 🤣
I wanna be in the room where it happens4
