    Pleasures for today (Sunday)

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Went to M and S as I didn't pay for my cup of tea last time (the till was broken). They said I could have it for free for being honest. So had another cup of tea (paid for) and talked to my friend who works there then read my book.

    3) Went to Sainsburys and saw some enamel baking trays. I've had my eye on them for ages but they are £11 each. I never go to Argos but I thought I would look online for similar and exactly the same tray is sold at Argos (which is within Sainsburys) for £5 !

    4) Just bought potatoes, onions and cat food from Sainsburys.

    5) Went to bigger son's house to feed his cats again. I phoned him up to see if I could open the window (their usual exit).

    6) Was fed up this afternoon so thought I would write a list and I completed the following:

    Rubbish out
    Tomatoes and other pots watered
    Hoovered downstairs and porch
Cleaned the glass of the porch (i.e 99% of the porch) and the floor
Weeded the beds around the front lawn
    Cut the front lawn
Moved my car and weeded and brushed the drive then hosepiped it clean
Moved the home grown garlic from in the garage because something keeps getting in there and throwing it around!
Repotted the coriander in the kitchen
Washing away, dishwasher emptied and yesterday's chutney jars washed down and put away

    7) Made jacket potatoes for tea with cheese and beans plus rice pudding.

many thanks all for your kind thoughts on the boy wonder. for yesterday
    1) the free bus to Glasgow (courtesy of being 60) - decided to make a day of it with gbf as have been far too busy recently - we started with tea and scones in John Lewis yum
    2) then the passport office - apart from the cost (splutter) no trouble at all picking up my new passport
    3) suggested we went for lunch to a pub showing the Luton game - gbf is not a footie person so instead we went to the Willow Tea Room and had a savoury afternoon tea very yummy thoroughly recommend
    4) then we spent a very pleasant afternoon at St Mungo's (aka St Kentigern) , the museum of religious arts and life, and the Provand's garden
    5) watched The man who never was (loved the book Operation Mincemeat) then The Wooden Horse
    and for today
    1) choir restarted - was concerned about the boy wonder as he didn't get up and i wondered if he'd still be with us when i got back

    3) went for long walk with his brother (boy wonder wanted to come too but currently a 2 minute walk is his limit)
    4) very exciting end to the women's 100 then pub to watch 2nd half of Man City game with MrG et al

    Perfect PK

    For yesterday,

Not too early a start - just after 7am - but left Capt S upstairs snoozing and enjoyed a cuppa with small dog cuddles.

Spent the morning in the garden, beloved did another stretch of the hedge while I lifted the larger crop of potatoes. Bit of a shame really as the early wet weather had obviously caused them to have blight, funny it didn’t happen to those in the large tub 🤔 so think I will stick to that in the future. Sorted through and we do have a decent enough amount to store. Tomatoes and courgettes are thriving but the strawberries have never recovered from the rain / snails so lifted those and will need replacing next year.

A well-earned lunch followed by a snooze on sofa.

A little afternoon stroll, the sun now has that lovely, golden glow of late summer, the days march away.

    Watched the mens hundred final.

Creeps in guiltily - hello again, it's been a while.

    Pleasures recently

    1. WEnt to Norfolk last week in a caravan owned by friends - we have great friends - overlooking the sea.  Weather was perfect
    2. National Trust mobility scooters meant i could be independent going around grounds and, in one hall, all over the ground floor.
    3. Foot is getting better, but slowly.  Like Mhags (but for different reasons) "I'm over it" now - soooooo bored.
    4. My boy passed his mock train simulator assessment.
    5. Am now back in ICT for a few days - a different window to gaze out of. I can't wait to get out of the surgical shoe.
    6. a day out in London yesterday meeting up with schoolfriends for our 60th birthdays.  Mine was in December, but i'm still milking it! 🤣

I wanna be in the room where it happens
