Nice to ‘see you’ vjsmum you’ll get there ( we’ll both get there one way or t’other!)
Anyway up early ( but not too early)
Pup dropped off.
Anniversary today! So just kind of celebrated myself…bought myself roses ( though did use my clubcard points 😆)
Pup collected for his walk and me and my boy went to caravan. Had a lovely walk … we disturbed 4 grouse today! Just love the swoosh of the crops in the fields ( though would have thought they’d be harvested by now) and the wind through the trees. It’s seems to be a very windy place.
Finished painting. It looks so much better ( in my opinion) than how it was before. And just sat peacefully between coats drying.Another windy walk before we headed home. There’s a horrid 4 way junction to cross so made it out without having to wait for ages.Into supermarket for TT food. Got RTC salad and corn on cob for clubcard price. And home…and hello big pup who’d been dropped off after his walk.Hung a washing out ( and it’s still out as it’s absolutely lashing)
Did a bit of pruning in the garden as the sky got darker and darker with rain clouds and was literally just in the door when down it came!Tuesday Tea guests arrived however we had an adventure to go on! Had bought a table and chair set on market place for caravan that is more to my taste. So we had to take 3 cars to collect it as it was a 15 minute drive away ( and not in local town as the advert suggested…though it could have been at opposite end of town I suppose which would take even longer!) anyway the point was I’d have to do 3 trips to get it all in my wee car . Satnav took us down a wee narrow lane and luckily lady had given me her number as it was a sheltered housing complex and we would never have got in! Anyway she was very nice and I’m delighted with the table and chairs. And my friends daughter is going to take the other set for her new flat! And convoy of us coming home. Horrible crash which must have happened just after we’d driven on the way there. So we had to be diverted by police and go home a different way.Anyway home safely with the most beautiful rainbow across the sky.Pizza and salad and corn on the cobs and then empire biscuits or tunnocks Teacake for pudding and fruit. And laughter and chatter and just nice to be round my table .And then they all went home and I threw the paper plates in the bin and washed the few dishes I actually have.
Hopefully hear from solicitors tomorrow one way or another as to what’s happening! Because I literally have zero idea at the moment ( was asked to give it till tomorrow)
And dark at 9pm which is absolutely not a pleasure! Just a statement of fact 😆6 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Most housework done. I've just realised the washing is still out on the line.
3) Can't remember if I said yesterday but the £20 voucher was emailed to me from the council, for agreeing to a condition survey of my house. I chose a Sainsburys voucher.
4) Went to my sister's and there will be an extremely exciting newcomer to the house in a few days... Picture to follow.
5) The free bread lady had put some food out again so I had a loaf of bread (sliced and in the freezer now) and what I think is a mouli ! I will take her a jar of chutney when I am up that way again.
6) Managed to remove the air filter from the car without snapping anything off. Hoovered it but have ordered a new one as it was terrible. Couldn't feel any difference driving though.
7) A lovely time at the football with another win. Until Scun-horpe scored, we were temporarily top of the league! Not that it matters this early on.
Brace...

For yesterday,
Her latest meds seem to be really helping small dog, her energy levels are up and her mobility has improved so much that we had a brief chase game in the garden, makes my heart glad.
Made a loaf, went through upstairs and cleaned the bathrooms, something very satisfying about sitting down once all done.
A fishy day, tuna Niçoise salad for lunch, baked cod for tea.
Spent the afternoon at the stables, worked my girlie in the lunge pen and my friend, who is a lateral work expert, helped us with a few points on helping flexibility. My horse is all power and with her big shoulders she very much leads from the front so it helps to get her to bend and stretch more. Put her out and then watched my friend work her mare.
Sitting on the back door step late afternoon soaking up the sunshine.5 -
Hello again.
Another lovely day in our neck of the woods.
Some pleasures:
1) Took little fella away for his boat trip mini break. Very busy couple of days doing all the things he wanted to do. As always he was a total pleasure, such a sweet nature but funny with it and the boat trip lived up to his expectations though it was blummin windy.
2) Eldest grandson has decided on and accepted his Uni place - and now he can enjoy the latest music festival!
3) Son's partner and I have joined a slimming club, was getting nowhere on my own and she wants to lose some weight for their next holiday so we poodled along last night. Hopefully the shock number on the scales will keep me at it, oh dear!
4) Son and I will get back into the routine of our lunchtime walks starting today, hopefully that'll help to shift the blubber and we enjoy the chats.
5) It's starting to feel a bit back-endish, love the late summer/early autumn gentle days and that 'back to school' feeling.
A morning ahead of sorting the fridge, freezers and cupboards and planning a shopping trip to stock up on fruit, veg and salads. Next week hopefully there will be less of me!! Have a good day whatever you are up to.5 -
The rainiest day in rainy ville! And also the windiest!Up early.
Had the day at home. Plans for visitors tomorrow have sadly had to be canceled. Today was to be a tidy up kind of day! And get ready for them coming. Hoovered.
Pup here today,
invited DD2 for her dinner and gave her the option of chicken or mince. Mince. Yep! That’s fine until you remember you have barely any kitchen utensils! However with a bit of juggling I got a cottage pie made!Sister called.Spoke to solicitor this morning…he’s urging me to give a bit more time. It will be five months tomorrow that I received a verbal offer for my house! It is beyond ridiculous now.Watched Greys Anatomy, had the heating on this afternoon as I was cold…even with a jumper on!6 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep and a lie in.
2) HM soup for lunch (from the freezer).
3) Brought the washing in and did various tidying and paperwork jobs.
4) Went to the leisure centre at 2 for badminton, table tennis and pickleball.
5) Sainsburys after for a few bits and my new baking trays. They were expensive on the shelves in Sainsburys but half price in Argos at the back of the store!
6) Reverbed a 5p by the tills.
7) Another free loaf of bread and some hummus. There was loads of stuff out this evening.
8) Just took smaller son to Tesco.
9) Piano will be coming on Friday.
10) Looking forward to watching Race Across the World.7 -
For yesterday,
Early over to the stables as plans for later, my girlie was very sleepy so just a groom and fuss. Good chat with fellow owner, it’s coming up for two years since we’ve been here and it really was the best decision for both of us.
Home and quick change before meeting up with two friends for lunch, lovely catch up and some great news health wise from one of them.
Tasty food, had a chicken salad followed by big slab of lemon drizzle cake, that’s what I call a balanced diet!
Home and beloved had finished work early so a catch up on days, he is off now until next Tuesday for a well earned rest.
Another one watching Race across the world, first series for me and am really enjoying the scenery etc.5 -
Lainey - you have quite a few series of Race Across the World to catch up on, if you like it. I am trying to get smaller son to watch The Detectorists, which is on television again tonight.
Sorry to hear about the continuing house slowness, MHags.
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Good to get up after no sleep. Heard a muntjac barking from 1.30 - 2am.
2) Went to Waitrose for the free paper but they hadn't been put out! Had a cup of tea in the cafe anyway. The staff are all very friendly in there.
3) Took some chutney to the house that leaves out free food, with a thank you note. Had some pizza bases and cress today!
4) My friend's daughter has struggled with school for a long time but is going to college in September.
5) Moved the furniture round then hoovered, ready for the piano delivery tomorrow.
6) Had feta with beetroot and figs for lunch and have just started cooking meatballs for tea.
7) Cleaned the bathroom.
8) Smaller son made some rocky road (he's good at cooking but requires continuous chatting) then we had a game of chess.
9) Just put the mole hill soil on the flower beds, mowed one lawn and watered the tomatoes and pots outside.
10) Looking forward to Who Do You Think You Are?5 -
Hello! Friday morning. Was on the phone chatting till late last night so didn’t post Thursday stuff!Up early.Had work. A lovely service and good feedback ( I was being ‘observed’) but most importantly family were happy.Popped into old work for more paint for DD2. Which she collected later on. Had a pup free day.All the weathers! Was finally able to go out and bring in washing off the line that had just been sodden for 2 days! ( was mainly dog blankets) and then it’s started raining again.Had leftover cottage pie for tea, however had a work related call ( giving me my feedback) and it was cold by the time I got to it! Mmmm cold sprouts! Still ate it 😆
Went to B&Q and met two people I know so was nice to have chats with both…with a what’s happening with your house ? Dunno! Anyway I could not believe the price of wallpaper in that shop! Extortionate! So made do with a RTC roll for a fiver. Maybe not first choice but I don’t mind it!Then into The Range looking for a blue rag rug for caravan kitchen floor it couldn’t get a blue one ( and was not prepared to pay £25 for one) so got a beigey one which will still go!And that was more than enough of big shops full of stuff for me!And home and sat as sun set and light faded and rain poured at my seat at my big window.Called friend. Was feeling a tad as if I was going to get labyrinthitis and felt a bit dizzy through the night but have woken up feeling okay. Will see how it goes. Really have too much to do today to be dizzy.Have a lovely Friday…currently raining ( shock weather update!) but supposed to dry up by mid morning.6 -
Good morning
Blimey, it's very windy here!
Sorry for the prolonged absence but nothing much has been happening. Which is good news in itself.
Plus
DH has had no medical appointments for the last three weeks. A record in the last three years!
DD took DGD ( her niece) to see Taylor Swift. They're both still buzzing!
We're preparing for DD wedding in two weeks and then our trip to the Italian Lakes in three weeks so lots to think about.
Collected a giant jenga ( very heavy!) from DS to take to said wedding. There's a walled garden at the hotel and DD is convinced the weather will be good enough.for us to be outside. PMA.
Sciatica has almost gone ( that should have been top of the list but when it's gone you forget how very bad it was) I think I walked it away!
Happy blustery day everyone5
