For yesterday,
Early start due to small dog needing the facilities but we both went back to bed for an hour or so.
Awful day weather wise but we had places to go and people to see so waterproof gear packed into the car and we headed off to the coast to support my nephew-in-law who was running his first marathon.
Thankfully the rain stopped by the time we got to the finishing line, enjoyed cheering the runners all back in and the lad did it in 3 hours, 32 minutes over a hilly course which was an amazing result.
We found a dog friendly pub and had a catch up while the runner warmed up & took on some sugar.
Unusually for us we had forgotten a pack up food wise so found a Mr Sparks food hall on way home and got some rtc wraps plus bits for a picky tea. Small dog was living her best life as she was fed cooked cocktail sausages on the way home.10 -
It’s been rainy and cold after about 5 nice days! Bah!
Up early and out with doggy. Was dry then and pleasant enough. Four ducks flew over us. Quack 🦆
Out and about early. Had to pick up DD2 for a medical appointment. Seen promptly.
First peonies of the season purchased. I’d kind of said I wasn’t going to buy flowers as really most of my vases are packed but did have one spare vase out! One of my very favourite flowers.
Did a bit of packing.Sun decided to peek through about 5pm…oh hello! But cold and windy.
Smiling at doggy who after his dinner goes upstairs to get his duck toy then runs downstairs and trots through to schnooky. Been schnookying after his dinner since he was a pup!9 -
1 As part of my pre-op I had to jump on the scales today, and if you had asked, I would say in menopause I feel at my biggest I’ve ever been, I was very shocked when the scales made me 2 stone lighter than last year as I honestly don’t see it, I even got off to check they were set right.
2 I’ve decided to treat myself to a hair appointment so booked it in, it may sound daft but it’s the first cut in a few years.
3 I got on and did a little planting up, with various helpers.
4 Wrapped up a chop, mint and veg parcel to cook through and served with some Rana gnocchi? It was tasty.
5 I went through 3 big storage boxes of stuff inherited, I listed 3 ornaments for sale and the rest is to go, feels good, I know we held onto it as it was too emotional at the time, through calm eyes, my dad didn’t look after things and they are faded, chipped etc easy to move on and no attachment.

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Very slow to go to sleep but then woke up at 9.
2) Horrible news about people being rounded up for detention centres as they sign their usual asylum "bail", pre Rwanda. I did have a good chat over the phone with one friend. They're in such a state of limbo. He was talking about the football match he will watch tomorrow night but doesn't know what Wednesday will bring. There are protests outside our most local centre to prevent vans driving away.
3) Worcs cricket has been underwater for so long (I think 100 days in total) that it was moved to our town. A free day today so I went with my brother and smaller son to watch Worcs v Somerset. Very cold wind.
4) My brother popped in for a while.
5) Smaller son and I then went to the football! 2 youth teams used our stadium. Freezing cold there.
6) Just saw a fox in the garden.8 -
For yesterday,
We had sunshine and a good amount too, also felt much warmer than of late.
The washing machine worked hard so that I could get as much dried outside as possible.
Spent time with my pony, I’m still very wheezy so just a good groom but loads of cuddles and horse love.
Everywhere is so green it almost hurts the eyes, the horse chestnut trees have candles on them and so many lilac trees in bloom.
Rtc salmon for tea, with lentils and ratatouille.

Hello all
Happy cas - glad DH is on the mend. Hope you're ok too.
Pleasures for the weekend
1. Our 33rd wedding anniversary - we went to Oxford to see SiL
2. She treated us to lunch after she and OH went to an organ recital and i went shopping (i've tried but i cannot stand organ music - it makes me want to pull out my fingernails one by one 😱; it's a shame cos OH loves it).
3. Got home and OH went to the footie while i had a glass of wine and a night with the telly
4. Sunday was house cleaning day - absolutely the pleasure is once again having a clean and tidy house after a few weeks of neglect.
5. DD came for dinner. THey're going through some trauma ATM, that is hard to watch but we also need to make sure they are OK.
And yesterday
1. My last classroom session 🥳 probably ever. (there is a vague chance of some 'guest sessions' - but we'll see). I had one student 🙄
2. getting home with the shopping while still being paid
3. laundry was mainly dry on the line
4. walked to the cinema and back
5. Film was ok - very well shot and acted (Civil War).
Have a fab day all. My semi-semi retirement has commenced with online tutorials and marking 🙄
I wanna be in the room where it happens7 -
Good afternoon. An absolutely glorious spring day. Pathetic fallacy again. DH is back home!
Thank you for all your support. It really does help
VJ's mum - you're right of course. I forgot to put my own oxygen mask on first. I was fine when I needed to cope but now I'm shattered. Doing as little as possible today and already feeling better.
Bought a new ( to me) Louise Penny book for 99p on kindle so that's this afternoon sorted.
Tea will be something frozen and easy. I've 'made ' an apple crumble from a small portion of cooked frozen apples and previously made and frozen crumble topping. Sometimes my frugality in refusing to throw anything away turns out to be a blessing😀
Will, of course, be more clinic appointments and tests to follow, but for now just enjoying being at home
Happy 🌞🌞 afternoon everyone

Vsjmum Belated Happy Anniversary.
HappyCas, Good to "hear / read" you, glad you are able to enjoy home.
1 Tackled my jumper cupboard as it’s out of hand, so I swore to half it and I have, 4 bin bags full, for a collection. If I’m honest I was also inspired by the Stacey Solomon programme last night. I also actually cleared the things I did yesterday to the recycling.
2 A very deep clean of the living room floor after DH declared he misplaced a resistor the size of a “flea” - a lot to replace but hours last night found nothing but dirt, so a very deep clean today he has all the dirt to go through – lovely!
3 I took down the heavy curtains and ran them through the wash one at a time and re hung them to dry – all a pleasure when it’s done.
4 Mowed the lawns in the hope of doing “no mow May” but we’ll see how long it gets./<+?
5 Bangers, mash, and greenery for dinner.

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) 5 mile walk this morning. Slightly chilled when a good friend of mine sent me a couple of voice mails saying MrU (remember him?) needed me to find a phone number for him. ( ! ) Even hearing his name made me feel a bit nauseated. I don't have the number (which I'm 100% sure he would have or he could have just found it on the internet).
3) Stopped at the Post Office on my walk to post an eBay parcel. The lady is always chatty in there.
4) Also took my new magazine on my walk and read it and had a pot of tea in M and S.
5) Did dozens of different jobs to get away from cleaning the bathroom, which was the job that needed doing the most! Hoovered, dusted, put the washing away, tidied up.
6) Went to Lidl.
7) An evening with MrM. We watched the Real Madrid game. I felt a bit flat, really and he had to leave to go to his friend's to have a shower (his shower is broken). So now I am sat sitting at home. A bit of a strange day.8
