PK we must have posted around the same time last night. Hugs. It’s been another nice day here but a cold start to the day and to be cold again overnight.Lovely walk with my doggy this morning. Just us and so many birds. The most beautiful moon and a delicate sunrise.Went to supermarket to get bits for a brunch platter ( having realised all my stuff is packed…was a last minute request) anyway improvised and it was all very tasty! Over to friends house as a surprise early birthday brunch for her daughter.Cuddles with her wee baby granddaughter who is just a teeny tiny thing! She just cooried in for an hour! Lovely.Went to DD2 to drop off cake. And then took her to supermarket. Dropped her home and then back to mine where the dog said eh…lunch time was an hour ago. I’m starving.Tidied up as I had a cleaner coming 😆 she’s going to do a big clean before I move so was just to show her what’s what! She is lovely. And just kind of pottered around. Put one teeny tiny thing in a box so I really must get my backside in gear and get going! It’s all very well sitting reading books but there’s stuff to be done!Watched Casualty. Who do think the whistle blower is frith?8
-
Oooo, I haven't watched Casualty yet, MHags.
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to ParkRun first thing. Everyone chatty today. Someone asked about MrU (he doesn't know me very well so asks every week). This week I managed to say, "We are no longer in contact..." and he tactfully moved on.
3) No walk today so I set to with some cleaning! I found the wallpaper steamer very useful in cleaning exterior doors which haven't been cleaned since they were installed (the kitchen outside door in particular covered in layers of grease). The whole kitchen when I moved in was disgusting but it has all been ripped out/replastered or at least painted over - except the doors! Also cleaned the porch doors then a couple of windows. Bins out. Garden tidied. Furniture in the living room turned round to see if it works better this way. Smaller son's bed changed, hoovering done, nice dinner cooked.
4) Read a bit of my book.
5) Phoned my school friend.7 -
Did a post, pressed send and off it went. Who knows where?
So.. Good morning. Rain again
Very brief version
Thursday
DH had bad reaction to immunotherapy (he's had 6 doses before and been fine)
6pm DD takes us to A and E.
3 am DH gets a bed. Still in A and E but a huge improvement over a chair. Diagnosed v low sodium. Saline drip and antibiotics IV
4am DD and I go home, after scraping the thick ice from the windscreen.
Friday
8pm DH admitted to an interim ward
Saturday
7pm DH transferred to the proper specialist ward !!!
But there are pleasures
DH is much better
The wonderful staff in A and E. How they stay so pleasant, patient and cheerful when working in such difficult conditions I'll never know.
My DDiL for scouring M and S for egg free ready meals so I didn't starve ( highly unlikely anyway but so kind of her)
Our lovely DD and DS who taxi and support in so many ways
The doctor who prescribed fish and chips, and crisps. DH will happily do that.
And, if course, the NHS
Happy Sunday everyone

Scary stuff HappyCas but pleased to read that DH is improving and yeah to being prescribed fish & chips!
For yesterday,
Early start as beloved’s birthday, at his request breakfast was smoked salmon & scrambled egg.
Quick visit to see horse, she was asleep in her stable after a hard days night and happy to see her Mum arrive with carrots.
Home in time for the L1 kick offs at 12.30, listening to the radio ours was a bit of a dull old affair but the draw plus other results were enough for us to survive another season in that league.
Warm cinnamon buns and a honey & lemon were a perfect afternoon treat.
Watched and enjoyed the Neil Diamond night on BBC2, he was a big favourite of my DM and she often played his records in the house, happy memories.6 -
Oh Happycas I remember the days of having to go in to A&E and wait then be stuck in any old ward before being moved to the appropriate place! I was usually allowed to stay so could at least advocate on my husband’s behalf. As he would usually by that stage be too poorly. Hope your husband gets the right treatment and is soon feeling better.
Another lovely day.Early walk but more appropriately dressed with hat and big coat and gloves! Beautiful moon. As sun was just rising. Not done very much today ( seriously need to get my packing mojo back) Dd2 and the chap came over to get some gardening tools and the power hose ( so they’ve had a much busier afternoon than I did)
Caught up on Australian MasterChef ( new series just started last week)
Kind of dozed ( listening with my eyes closed)
Went and got some takeaway Chinese which was very nice and sat in the garden to eat it.Just enjoying the evening bird song and chatter..
Person on neighbourhood FB page kindly dropped off some tomato plants for DD2. She had an excess.8 -
I hope Mr Happycas is feeling better.
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) 5 mile walk today. 30 miles this week.
3) Pot of tea in M and S.
4) Watched a lot of TV!
5) Might have a toastie now.7 -
Happycas, sorry to hear DH is reacting, but glad things are improving.
Took it easy today, but still did 3 loads of washing and 3 meals, I often think back to my mum “resting on Sunday”, while doing a full roast.
For the weekend
1 A lovely day out at a small steam fair, albeit a bit soggy, money saved with pre-paid tickets and our own food. Met up with a friend, ambled, went back to the car for the packed lunch, and one of the ferrets “Freddo” really enjoyed the attention. Then wandered around a bit more and ate way too much cake.
2 A lay in this morning, apparently needed.
3 Re jigged the food plan, to use up leftover take away from the freezer so tonight is warmed leftover kebab. With full salad and tumeric rice.
4 Cleaned and re filled all the birdfeeders after a rebellion when I forgot to re fill them yesterday.
5 Filled in the pre-op information again, so far, they’ve changed the process each time.
6 I did a minimum order with Ocado which was delivered today, to get some lactose free cream for the ferrets to have meds in. Their prices are very comparable with everyone else depending on what you opt for obviously.

For yesterday,
Early start due to small dog needing the facilities but we both went back to bed for an hour or so.
Awful day weather wise but we had places to go and people to see so waterproof gear packed into the car and we headed off to the coast to support my nephew-in-law who was running his first marathon.
Thankfully the rain stopped by the time we got to the finishing line, enjoyed cheering the runners all back in and the lad did it in 3 hours, 32 minutes over a hilly course which was an amazing result.
We found a dog friendly pub and had a catch up while the runner warmed up & took on some sugar.
Unusually for us we had forgotten a pack up food wise so found a Mr Sparks food hall on way home and got some rtc wraps plus bits for a picky tea. Small dog was living her best life as she was fed cooked cocktail sausages on the way home.10 -
It’s been rainy and cold after about 5 nice days! Bah!
Up early and out with doggy. Was dry then and pleasant enough. Four ducks flew over us. Quack 🦆
Out and about early. Had to pick up DD2 for a medical appointment. Seen promptly.
First peonies of the season purchased. I’d kind of said I wasn’t going to buy flowers as really most of my vases are packed but did have one spare vase out! One of my very favourite flowers.
Did a bit of packing.Sun decided to peek through about 5pm…oh hello! But cold and windy.
Smiling at doggy who after his dinner goes upstairs to get his duck toy then runs downstairs and trots through to schnooky. Been schnookying after his dinner since he was a pup!9
