Hello. Bedtime.Up early. But I think I slept right through .Chat with friend on phone.Drove to beach town to meet niece. Had dog in car…eh why are we driving past the beach carpark? Stopped there on the way back. Had a nice walk although he wasn’t off lead. Tide was too far in and too many other doggies. However the sea was so calm. Almost flat. Beautiful. Drove by my new house on way back. Just to say hello house.Stopped at supermarket on way home. Got a tesco finest meal deal which I wouldn’t usually but it was actually ever so nice!Home and time for doggy’s lunch.Upstairs to empty 2 sets of drawers , hoover them and manhandle out my room. I got as far as the top landing. The Chap kindly brought them downstairs.I may have had my first garden snooze of the season…I’m sure they’ll be more! Read my library book, but I think I’ve packed my sun hats so will need to get a new cheap one to do me for a few weeks. Gorgeous afternoon.Cooked dinner…which was really just shove in the oven! We had lasagna, chunky chips ( which were amazing) peas, carrots and sprouts and roast parsnips. I intend to have my freezer empty for moving! Made a rhubarb crumble for pudding.DD2 ( who’s not very well ) and the pup were dropped off whilst the chap was at work. They’ll both be dropped off again in the morning. It’s actually a bit hard being such a mum about things when your child ( who’s an adult & doesn’t live with you) so I’m glad she’ll be here tomorrow and I can keep an eye on her.Chatter and laughter round the table as always. Was just saying goodbye to friends as my husband’s best friend went by so stood and had a good blether with him.9

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Did the normal walk then wondered if I could go to the next town. Got back home and had done 12 miles so walked round and round the nearest park to get up to 13.2 miles - a half marathon!
3) Had a pot of tea in M and S after 10 miles.
4) Got the washing done and on the radiators.
5) Popped out just now to nab a bit of lilac from the end of the road.
6) Watching Avoidance now with the cat.8 -
1) remembered to take the boys to the groomers (i had left a 'dogs!' label on the kettle)
2) then onto City Campus for an all-day training on performance management - was really good but no lunch 😱 but all good - 5 of us went up to the Tower cafe - fabulous views across the Tay and I managed to get us a table
3) out of the 10 7 were from the Medical School which was great to see. I did some excellent networking and may be on the way to solving a couple of problems. no laptops or phones but i said sorry i'll have to take an important phone call - 10:30 slipped out as the dog groomer phoned to say the boys ready, phoned dd2 to pick them up then went back into the classroom, putting my phone away. rather lovely having no emails all day
4) home just as dd2 and her bf arrived home laden with 2 mince rounds. dd2 cooked supper while i got on top of some of my emails
5) then mennies for the footie - old boss was there - haven't chatted to him since he retired Christmas 22. Arsenal game on all three screens but amazingly i managed to get the big screen over to Leicester just as DrM walked in. I am far too good! second half i placed myself where i could watch the leicester game but also see the Arsenal game. Both stunning matches, both 5-0. DrM is almost happy. MrG is happy cos Dundee Utd have won the Scottish championship. In the words of the 2 Ronnies / John Cleese sketch, I know my place.

Good morning. It's not actually raining at the moment but I'm sure it will soon! And it's so cold. Ah well, six weeks today we go to Spain - if we can't find a way to bring it forward!
Yoga on Monday, defying the moat and huge puddles in the church car park. Often the hardest part of Yoga is getting parked. The trick is to get there about 10 minutes before the previous class finishes so that you're not trying to go in the narrow lane as they're coming out. But it's worth it!
Playing at altering dresses yesterday. Darts in one cos the back is strangely baggy; letting the hem down on another. My mum used to do that to my dresses every year. I must have had a growth spurt ( or the dress has shrunk😂). There was just enough hem to make a difference.
We have a small patch of bluebells in the front garden. Never planted them. They just appeared. This year, a little way apart, there's a very pale pink one. So pretty
Made a chocolate avocado mousse. Totally egg free and very delicious. That's a definite to add to the recipe book.
Started making a blanket to use up left over wool and didn't have enough. So I've had to buy another ball to finish it! It will only be a cot/ lap blanket even then. Obviously I didn't have as much wool as I thought! I'll donate it to the food bank when it's done.
Been awake for hours - no idea why - so I don't expect to be too lively today. Bit of basic housework and lots of reading, I think.
Happy Wednesday everyone8 -
It’s been the most beautiful day here.Up early.
At recycling centre for 8am was just loading car when a friend went past so had a nice chat and a hug from her!Home and a daughter and a big pup dropped off…as well as a basket of washing! ( which I had said to bring over)
Made her lentil soup to have for her lunch.
Whilst in scruffy clothes I cut the grass. And chattered with two separate neighbours and waves as a few drove by and thought I’m going to live where I don’t know a soul! Then sat for an hour in the garden and read my library book.Quick change in to less scruffy clothes…DD2 painted my toenails and on went sandals for the first time…my feet are so peely wally!Headed out for lunch with my friend. Was so lovely to see her ( not seen since pre-Christmas) lovely food as usual where we meet and a couple of hours of chatter and laughter and a big hug at the end!Home and sat sat in the garden. Just came in as getting a wee bit cooler as sun going down. Just going to sit and finish my book. With a dog by my side. It’s been nice having DD2 where I can see her when she’s not feeling well.9 -
evening all.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. coffee with friend - good to catch up
2. had my hair cut - one more cut and all the dye will be out. I'm loving embracing my 'silver sparkles' not to mention the time and money saved in not having it dyed.
3. some marking marked. Quota for the day achieved
4. OH liked his presents - particularly the 'nodding turtle'. The reviews said "It has a disappointing nod" - it does not 🤣
5. went for a family curry to celebrate OH's birthday last week.
Have a lovely evening.I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Another day of postal vote processing. No marvellous names today but there was a voter who was 103.
3) Popped to Lidl at lunchtime and they had a selection of fruit trees and I bought a cherry.
4) Back home and I planted the fruit tree and slashed down some Himalayan balsam just beyond the garden. By the pool, someone had set up 2 beehives today.
5) Smaller son and I went for a quick walk.8 -
ANZAC day in Aotearoa.
More lost wordery, but will attempt again, in Town of Horse main street, where signal and inward calls suddenly squeaked and rang. Couldn't answer while driving, having just left this:
1. Watoto Ugandan children's choir in All Saints. Amazing, glorious, joyous... impossible to accurately describe and do justice to. Had never heard of them, but for a fluke chance remark in old CS yesterday.
https://www.watoto.com/
They are balls of fire, musically too, tonight's 10 all found and taken in, all abandoned, all young and musically very strong.
& eyes and many, many others were waterfalls.....but through amazement and humility. Big joining in exuberance.🫶👍🍺😊
2. Blow me down, our most senior rugbyman, just retired at 36, was there with his parents and extended family!
All of us agreed as osp 1.
3. The joy of simple hwb every night as this endless freezing weather continues. Meteo man said '....and expect no improvement this side of next week, or even then. These are prolonged sub-seasonal temperatures.' Yes, we know.
4. 12rtc limes and 12rtc lemons all prepped for next marmalade. Limes are so arduous, so must just switch off and keep at it - 2½hrs this time. Leave overnight, swift 40mins boil, then leave another 24hrs before normal adding of sugar and finishing.
5. One crochet baby blankie completed, before finishing touches of thistles and roses. 2nd begun. Making it up as I go along, but looks ok.

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Walked 5.25 miles today.
3) Took some cardboard to the tip.
4) Went round the charity shops in canal town but didn't buy anything. The very good Oxfam there is still being refurbished.
5) Went to Lidl as it was Greek Week and bought another fruit tree (a plum) and a sandwich toaster! It has interchangeable panels so you can also toast panini or make waffles.
6) Took smaller son to Tesco to buy ham and we enjoyed some toasted sandwiches.
7) Planted the plum tree. That is enough trees now.
8) Watched Baby Reindeer which is a bit close for comfort.9
