Hello.A new month! Already!Up early.
Beautiful sunrise.
We spent a huge chunk of day at hospital for DD2 . I’d to drive on motorway…Waah! But did it. Knuckles clenched and palms sweaty! As always the kindness of others. Got a meal deal at supermarket to keep us going through the day. Glad to get home. There’s a certain bit of road where I think right I know how to get home now!
Picked up big pup and dropped them off home. Stopped at her wee local co-op and got a lovely bunch of very RTC flowers. And then home and last hour or so of afternoon spent in the garden. It was really warm then these huge dark clouds rolled in and the oddest of splodgy rain spots falling on me. So came inside. Had started a book this morning whilst waiting.Had a few Vinted deliveries yesterday and today so did a quick wash and they’re mostly dry. Ironed the linen ones. Love linen.
And just came upstairs with my book that has languished on my bookshelves for goodness knows how long ( bookcase all packed up) and it’s actually really enjoyable.Glad today is over!9 -
Mhags, I hope DD2 is doing okay?
1 A beautiful pair of Jays in the garden, rarely seen here.
2 Took a ferret urine sample over to the specialist, written like this it sounds easy – a pleasure it’s done just waiting for the results. The vet called and the results show that Fuse is still fighting something after 6 weeks, but at home he seems so much improved and literally full of life. So, we come off the antibiotics for a fortnight, then go back in with him in a fortnight for sterile testing, we keep trying, he’s very full of life.
3 I did the monthly banking, and paid a very large bill carefully, as I want to make sure it’s fully trackable, not that I don’t trust them to do their job.
4 Happened very much to be right place right time after Aldi didn’t have chicken thighs for the ferrets we went to Lidl, not only did I apparently have a coupon for the thighs, but they had just finished 60 percent off some chipolatas, pork belly, Pork chops I am about to portion up.
5 Gathering together some things to sell, all proceeds to the ferret fund 😊

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to work doing postal votes. It was a shorter day, which seemed like a big treat when we left at 1 !
3) Back home and did panini in the new sandwich toaster machine.
4) Was about to go for my walk but put some recycling in the bin first and put the bin out. Went back inside and wondered why the noise of birdsong was so loud in the garage... Looked up - half the roof had gone! Did a lot of jumping up and down on a chair, trying to hold the phone camera up high enough to see if the missing roof was lying on the rest of the flat roof - it wasn't...
The garage is a very cobbled together affair on the side of the house with a roof of mismatched beams then plywood and some sort of felt.
I looked in the back garden and in the neighbour's gardens. Eventually I walked down the road and 200 metres away, down the NEXT ROAD, I found the enormous piece of roof!
5) Bigger son then appeared for a cup of coffee and he climbed onto the garage, put the panel back and weighed it down with lots of bricks! He then had to jump from the garage onto the flat roof of the extension and climb in through my bedroom window.
6) Took bigger son to a bike shop to get a new part.
7) Made sausage, mash and baked beans for tea.
8) Smaller son and I went for a walk round the park.
9) Then made a treacle sponge with ice cream.

Eeek, scary stuff Frith!
For yesterday,
Tackled Mount Ironmore then did a little shuffle of clothes from one wardrobe to another in anticipation of the warmer weather 🤞
Also did some hoovering and a general tidy of upstairs.
Small flock of long tailed t*ts came down to have a drink and a bath.
Spent the afternoon with my horse, it was very warm in the sunshine and lovely to feel the sun on my bare arms. We did some groundwork and then went for a walk. Popped her out in her field and by the time I walked back 10 minutes later she had already found the only remaining patch of mud and had a good roll!Tasty tea, roasted veg topped with chicken in creamy spinach sauce, yum.7 -
Eek Frith - glad no-one was hurt.
Lainey - i do not understand the concept of 'ironing' (although i do have a basket full but it'll have to wait)
Pleasures for yesterday - a marking day so unlikely to be many
1. slept well
2. did more marking than i thought i'd get through
3. filled up the bird feeders
4. salmon for tea
5. listened to the latest in a podcast i like "Off the Telly" with Natalie Cassidy and Joanna Page.
THere, did it! I'm off to the theatre this afternoon. Enjoy your day whatever you're up to.I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
Morning all 😊
A few enjoyable days:
Walked round lake on local country park on Monday with twin sister. First time I’ve managed to do it in ages 😊. We saw goslings, a heron, ducklings. It was still windy but warm in the sun ☀️ Visited local Abbey town on way back for a late lunch (I had a not enjoyable veg moussaka ☹️) and then visited the lonely swan 🦢 (his mate was killed last year).
On Tuesday friend and I visited her beach hut and other friend who has moved down there. Grey and quite chilly. Nice fish and chips for lunch.
Yesterday I walked round local beautiful park with another friend. Beautiful wisteria this year and usual tasty bacon roll in the cafe! Must stop all this eating out 🤣
Terrific thunder storm woke me up in the early hours.
Have a good day everyone 😊9 -
It’s been so windy here today! Sunny but a bit wild!Up early.
Out to meet niece and great nephew…at the place across from my new house! Just wish I was in my new house…but did a bit of stalking around…in a non suspicious manner…more in a I’m going to do that and that’s my bedroom window ! Anyway felt quite excited on road down going straight on instead of turning right to go to beach as I normally would!Found out where I can walk doggy locally. And there’s a beautiful clematis in my new garden so that made me smile 😊And then we went to beach. On way back and we were there in 5 minutes! And tide was out and sun was shining though wind was blowing. Nice walk/run.Home! Sat in garden and read. Till it got too windy.
Sister/friend/Dd2 called at various times.
you know that way when you’re sure you’ve read the book but can’t remember how it goes so re-read it anyway! Well that’s me!Had cheese on toast for tea.8 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Toasted sandwich (Nutella and banana) for breakfast. Piece of toast for lunch with hash browns, sausages, fried egg and tomato. Tea was potato, cheese and onion pie with salad. Smaller son most appreciative today.
3) Went for a walk before lunch plus a pot of tea in M and S. Just over 5 miles today. My enormous blister burst (from my 13 mile walk last week).
4) In very exciting news, smaller son was enthusiastic about voting for the first time. It was in a scout hut we didn't know was there (why do scout huts never have any external windows?!) Occasionally, not being able to talk is a disadvantage. I have been a poll clerk maybe 10 times, but I didn't put my name down this year and so instantly have forgotten the rules. Was I allowed to go in with him? (I wasn't voting as I had a postal vote). I'm still not sure.
Fortunately all the staff caught on very quickly and wisely left us alone. Even the tellers were silenced with some nodding from me and just said "Thank you for coming". I vaguely knew one of the tellers and one of the poll clerks had been opening postal votes with me yesterday!
I refused to go in or near the booth with him and voting was completed without incident.
5) Got home and tackled the DWP form about whether he is still disabled. I have put that off for a while. Just need to post it now. I put in about 40 pages of reports so they have something to read!
6) Cleaned the bathroom. Tidied up the garden. Put grey clothes in the washing machine ready for tomorrow (not allowed to wear any party colours).7 -
Frith, ohh treacle sponge, I’ll be over in 10…
1 A hair appointment, the first in years, I had a lot chopped off, about 6 inches to make it healthier but it’s still long – phew, one of the best hairdressers.
2 Our 19th wedding anniversary, have been feeling suitably loved up.
3 We ordered in a Chinese to celebrate, it’s our first this year, and we tried new dishes, adventurous for us, enough leftovers for both lunch and dinner tomorrow.
4 Watched a programme of a wildlife photographer who lives in Scotland, I will admit primarily for the pine martens.
5 The jays are nesting locally, so we’ve popped more food out.
6 We remembered to vote, we walked around at 3.25pm, and they had only had 46 people through the doors since 7am.

You always post such great photos PaulieH
For yesterday,
Early trip into horsey town for a food shop and coffee with my friend.
Out again, this time for small dog’s food plus stuff for the birds, met a gorgeous Norfolk Terrier pup called Charlie!
Few hours at the yard, lovely in the sunshine and sat with my girlie in her field for a bit, cloud watching and day dreaming.
Capt S as was home when I got back so we plonked ourselves on the swing seat and read our books.
Tasty tea of fish with pesto orzo and fennel slaw, my beloved put the footie on but didn’t hold my interest so more reading.5
