Thanks Lainey. I hope the photos add to the words as I don’t do wordy 🤣
I love reading yours (and others) posts of the pleasures everyday life can bring as it somehow puts things into perspective 😊6 -
Art'noon (just) all.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. More marking - the pleasure, as ever, mainly lies in getting through it but the odd excellent submission helps
2. into town for lunch with my DD and my bezzie
3. Then Bezzie and i went to see Blood Brothers. Wow, it's been a while since i saw it and it was fab (despite the disruption from multiple school parties)
4. a pleasant stroll round to the polling station
5. men were at footie (they lost 🙄) so i had the remote to myself.
Have a fab dayI wanna be in the room where it happens7 -
Hello. Been a dry day up till past half hour. So came upstairs to iron the linen tops and put them on the clothes horse to finish drying…then may have got waylaid on my iPad 😆
Up early.
Went to castle. Had a nice wander. Solicitor called whilst I was there so quick chat to let me know date has been agreed ( finally!) asked him if the huffing and puffing was standard. Apparently it is… just reply to a blooming email! So I was then able to confirm with movers who had kindly penciled me in on both possible dates.
Quick nip in to supermarket ( remembering loo roll!) met someone not seem for ages so chat with her for ages! May have bought a sad lavender for a pound and I’ve seen sadder! And home. Hung out washing. Hoovered downstairs and tidied up ( as much as you can in a house full of boxes!)
Someone was picking something up so chatted to them for ages too.Did attempt to cut the grass but lawnmower decided to stop working! Sigh! Not even a quarter of the grass cut!9 -
Hi everyone.
Just back from our travels and popping in to touch base. Not caught up with your pleasures of the week yet so hope everyone is ok.
Had a great week away with my brothers and their wives in Northumberland. Big skies and big seas and big nearly deserted beaches, just perfect.
Good to be home now and back in my own bed with some very happy memories of our trip and now looking forward to the next one.
Will catch up over the next day or so. Enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend.10 -

helloooo back from my lovely holibags. 3 days in Edinburgh followed by 5 days in Melrose. the pleasures...
1) meeting up with old friends and making new ones (there were 55 of us at Edinburgh for the Dorothy Dunnett Readers Association AGM then 15 of us had rented Harmony House in Melrose for Monday to Friday)
2) fabulous food throughout including afternoon tea at The Dome on Monday - I had a glass of champagne to toast my PhD student's success
3) lovely walks in Melrose - we happened upon WB setting up for filming The Franchise (and they used the same area for a scene from the latest Indiana Jones)
4) the 2nd half of the QPR Leeds match on Monday at a lovely pub in Melrose and of course Leeds losing secured the championship crown for Leicester so DrM happy (he obviously watched it in Dundee)
5) we went to see the amazing Great Tapestry of Scotland yesterday in Galashiels - totally stunning
and now I'm back home, just back from watching Luton draw with Everton - watched it with an Everton fan, DrM arrived for 2nd half and MrG after being at the Dundee Utd game. Normal service is resumed, and 2 snoring spaniels are happily asleep on my bed. night all xxx

Good morning. Back to grey, but we did have two lovely days earlier this week. Even sat in the garden eating ice cream one day!
Have spent lots of time trying to sort out post discharge admin for DH. It seems an error in the discharge letter meant there was no follow up! Anyway, have now contacted community nurse and sorted a clinic appointment. It does make me worry about people less able to deal with this sort of thing.
DH went out for a coffee with his friend yesterday so I cleaned up like a mad woman. It definitely needed doing. Between hospital and then post-hospital exhaustion ( me, not DH! He was in bed most of the time😂) housework has been neglected. Much better now.
Although it's grey out there I don't think it's too cold so I might do some gardening later. The weeds are already taking advantage of us not being out there, and I think the Solomon's seal is aiming for world domination - or at least our garden!.
Happy Saturday everyone

Hello.
Quiet day here .
up early. Finished reading book ( which yes I had read before but totally forgot the end so that was okay)
Went as far as supermarket and handed in two books to charity shelf. And the rest of the day not doing very much. Other than hoovering upstairs/ downstairs. Washing floors. Cleaned bathroom.
Hung out a small washing as I’m passing on some crochet blankets to a friend so wanted to give them a wash first. Also popped in a lovely linen shirt from Vinted. All still a bit damp as it’s been drizzling since 4pm ish but ironed top.
Had some mince round with veggies for tea. And dog and I shared an ice cream lolly!Caught up on Australian MasterChef.Watched the birds in the garden. The male collared dove was chasing a magpie ( Mrs CD is nesting at back of my garden) repeatedly. Get out!I love the colours of the magpies.9 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to Park Run. Had a cup of tea and cake and played table tennis with MrM.
3) Went to watch my brother in his tennis match afterwards. He had left me some tomato plants in his car.
4) Went to the book shop in floody town to get a birthday present for my friend.
5) Back home and tidied the patio and hosed it down. Left some spider plants on my wall for people to help themselves. Repotted the tomatoes and split some herbs for my friend.
6) Met my friend at 1.30 for a cup of tea and her belated birthday.
7) Made a pheasant casserole for dinner then butterfly cakes.
8) Watched Casualty and am now watching the Piano.7 -
Hello again.
Today's pleasures:
1) Pottering around, happy to be back at home after our lovely holiday. All unpacking and sorting done.
2) Sorted holiday finances with my brother who pays for everything and then lets us know what our share is. All paid up including the deposit for our next but one holliday together in May next year. Cornwall first in September.
3) Hubby has powewashed paths and patios in the back garden today in readiness for the outside furniture, once that is out I can sort and clean my summerhouse ready for lots of lazy summer afternoons - can't wait!
4) Yummy tea from leftovers brought back with us including strawberries and cream for pud. Then made caramel sauce with the rest of the cream.
5) The very big and very old lilac tree in next door's garden hangs over the top of our hedge and is flowering beautifully, a total joy to look at and smells beautiful.
Hope you're enjoying the holiday weekend whatever you are up to.
