Mhags your house move is inspiring.
Lainey, Wow your girlie is a beauty.
&, loving the piggie picture/photo.
Knocked over with a bad bug, did a few covid tests, we are both not in great health but dealing.
1 The vets appointments keep coming, the last one was very positive, we still have everything crossed we’ve done the best we can, one month till he gets tested again. Another vets visit this morning with another for dental, he’s home safe, sound and made a fuss out of.
2 Cleaned the animal bedding for after the op.
3 Cooked up some bangers and mash quickly, saving the takeaway for when we are both feeling a bit better to appreciate it. We have friends who order 5 take aways a week and I wonder how they do it, but we are very different, we have stashes of things in the freezers, they have a freezer but use it for desserts, we often wonder if with the costs of running the freezers if it all evens out.
4 I went to the doctors where they gave me steroids and antibiotics yesterday, I wasn’t hopeful, but have to say they have kicked in very well so far and barring waking up twice coughing it was a far better night’s sleep gotten. Seems I’ve damaged my voice box they are guessing by the violent coughing so it’s quite quiet here just now.
5 Watching naff stuff on streaming.

For yesterday,
Capt S had booked the day off as needed to use up some holiday entitlement so a more leisurely start and breakfast.
We then took a trip out to the recycling centre for some of the free soil improver, other folks had obviously got the same idea as bit of a queue but we filled up three large plastic sacks plus part of a large builders bag.
Home and the sun was out so we did some more shovelling and got much of the compost into the raised beds ready for veg. I also tidied up the strawberries and put some on them.
Lunch, then over to see my pony, my friend was smiling as I walked on the yard and said the words meant to strike fear into any horse owners heart “ she’s rolled!! “ To be fair it wasn’t too bad as she obviously done it first thing as the mud was dried on so brisk brush and a wash more or less sorted it. We did get some work done as well.
Watched the Wales game, real shame for them and would have been good to have a 3rd home nation at the tournament.6 -
Hello.Up early…lashing with rain and so cold. We didn’t get snow but about 5 miles away did .Pup dropped off.Started going through things. First stop was cupboard outside my bedroom. Went through it all . Have started posting on declutter thread so won’t bore you here. But stuff dropped off at charity book shelf in supermarket.Went through a load of paperwork…found a lost pension! In a blooming queue on the phone but a very helpful chap was very helpful and all sorted out.Destroyed a load of paperwork. Stuff from 2009-2016. Don’t think I need it anymore!Pup went his walk. Of course it was still raining! But he got a wee dressing gown for his birthday so that dried him off. He didn’t love it but looked cute!Chat with neighbour/friend.Back inside ( having not left my phone all day incase I got a call 😀) missed call from estate agent…have sold my house!Yay!
DD2 picked up pup and dropped off more boxes. As she’s emptying I’m filling! My last two big moves I had packers who just came in and did the job! No such luxury this time! And it’s just me to do it.Dog cuddles in front of the fire.
Then came upstairs to stuff all over the top landing and my bed! Aaaargh!Have visitors arriving tomorrow so need to get it shifted but it can wait till tomorrow!10 -

Hello all - pleasures for yesterday
1. new banisters &etc, all done. Very lovely they are too
2. did some shopping just to tide us over till we go on holiday
3. the ever-present pleasure of washing drying outside (mostly)
4. DS much better than yesterday - he was being annoying so he must be. Watched a programme with him
5. watched 'sort your life out' - got some ideas on decluttering
And today
1. usual wednesday walk in the park with friend. coffee was involved
2. didn't get too wet - it poured down as soon as we got back to the cars
3. more cleaning of the house - at least a start
4. not too many work emails
5. OH has lost 2 stone on Slimming world. I'm about 10 lb down, but have nowhere near as much to lose. He probably needs to lose at least another 2 stone, whereas half a stone more will be ok for me.
night night all.I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
Good morning. Back to grey again!
D Doll - I'm quite envious of you watching Dr Zhivago for the first time. If you're anything like ne, it won't be the last. One of my Desert Island films.
Lainey/ Mhagster - we have a pair of nesting pigeons too. And a magpie that stands at the top of their tree. The pigeons shout at him but he doesn't go away. I suppose it's difficult to make 'Coo, coo' sound threatening.
Summer clothes sorted ready for packing. Several diverted to charity bag and too many deemed only fit for housework/ gardening. But enough left for a week away. Phew!
Out for a meal tonight to use DH birthday present voucher from DS. His birthday is in November so it's about time it was used.
One of our sofa cushions has split along a seam. For now there's a cunningly placed throw, but it's top of the to-do list for when we get back.
Happy grey day everyone

Woohoo on the house sale Mhags 🎉
For yesterday,
Rolled up my sleeves and set about cleaning the house, as always the pleasure is when it’s done!
Sat down with a cuppa and had a flurry of surveys to do so even that was productive.
Soup for lunch as it was a cool day.
Grumpy pony coming in as she had been rained on, how dare you Mum! Let her settle with a hay net before washing off legs, also enjoyed a cup of tea with friends in warm kitchen.
Tea was chicken and leek pie with various veg, we were both tired so an earlyish night with our books and a snoring spaniel.7 -
Morning everyone.
Congratulations on the house sale, mhagster, altogether a simpler process than down here but even so this all seems to have happened very quickly.
Hope all the injured people are recovering, we seemed to accept scabby knees at the norm when we were young but they blummin hurt!
Recent pleasures:
1) Brother had a biopsy yesterday and has been started on some treatment. Not heard yet how he is responding to that but better than the sitting and waiting.
2) Went on a private tour of a local stately home yesterday. Very interesting with a knowledgeable tour guide who really brought it to life. Just ten of us in the party so lots of time to look and ask questions. Lot of standing though so very glad of the cuppa and cake at the end!
3) Hubby has made a start on grandson 1's bedroom, one wall of which was taken back to brick when they put the steels in downstairs as they had to make holes in the wall and floor to winch the steels up. Lots of rebuilding and replastering which hs hopefully now dried out ready for skirting boards and painting. Then just grandson 2's room to repair which also has a 'butchered' wall together with big cracks under the windows where the back of the house 'dropped' onto the new steels. All very technical and no doubt boring to most but I find it fascinating!!
4) We have nice Easter treats - hot cross buns, chocolates and lovely spring flowers, also all the ingredients for any little people who want to make chocolate Easter egg nests.
5) Hubby sold his 'old' car yesterday. A trip to the bank is in order as the chap paid cash and I don't want it hanging about over the holiday weekend. We tend not to go far on Bank Holiday weekends so may have lunch out today and a stroll in the sunshine if it stays around long enough!
Have a good day whatever you are up to.
