Nice trip to the seaside on Tuesday, chilly wind though. Late pub lunch and catch up with friend who has moved there. Good journeys both ways but wish it was a bit nearer.
Trip into town yesterday to pick up prescription and do various bits. Remembered to stock up on stamps before they go up again.
SwImming this morning although my ears/head still don’t feel quite right. Used a new pair of earplugs today so 🤞
Had a 24 hour heart monitor fitted this afternoon, the pads are itchy ☹️
OH has gone to a concert at the O2 and I’m having a read on here and an early night 💤8 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Another 4 mile walk done. Saw a heron (presumably the same one!), had a pot of tea in M and S and went round the charity shops but bought nothing.
3) My new bed arrived! I had been sleeping on the floor since July. Smaller son and I put it together. I hope I don't forget and roll out.
4) Had a good tidy and made the house look presentable, lit the lanterns etc.
5) My brother came round to watch the football. I cooked Spanish chicken and rice then I used the moulds I usually have for lemon puddings but I made so much crab apple jelly last year that I made pudding with that at the base. Served with ice cream.
6) Wales won 4 - 1 !!!!!!
7) Smaller son and I just popped to Tesco.
8) I've been asked out by a friend. I think I'm "temped but tired". I need a break from men for a while.

Hello again.
Recent pleasures as I head off bedwards:
1) We have turned a corner, Spring has sprung.
2) One boy's bedoom is finished and a 'big boy's' desk and chair have replaced the toy unit so it's all grown up and he is thrilled with it. Aww! Now on to the next two.
3) Walk with my bairn, the hard way today and I coped better than I had thought I would, probably because the weather is a lot cooler today.
4) Gave some unwanted furniture to a young couple setting up their first home and they were very grateful, nice to be able to help and that it is going to a good home.
5) To hubby's latest play tonight, they have played to nearly full houses all week which makes all their hard work worthwhile.
Right, off to my bed and a quick read of my latest - very good - book. Night night.9 -
1. Found my other red leather glove. Hooray, a pair again.👌
2. Loved this, heard earlier -
'What is this Life,
If full of care,
I have no room
For a chocolate eclair.'
It was suitably declaimed by Roger Allam in the usual battle of words with Joanna Lumley, in tonight's R4 1830h comedy slot.
3. Brought and Bought at Mothers' Union Bring and Buy, not long after a helpful midweek Communion. Men's Letter C 100% cotton handkerchiefs were perfect for young someone at rugby training tonight. Over 70 senior women and men fed post-training, VG.🏉
4. In throes of more care and grateful.
5. Last night's Private Viewing of the Cambridge Drawing Society was stunning and packed. & is so lucky to be on their invitation list. Need to visit again before it closes on Wednesday.
Took many, many pics. 'Pig With Attitude' is splendid:
Excuse reflection,🤗.

Good morning. Bright again today after yet more rain yesterday. Everywhere is so soggy.
Not much to report but that's good nrws.
Thoroughly cleaned both hall cupboards and threw out things I was keeping for ....what, exactly? Who knows. Anyway done and dusted (literally).
Printed out tickets etc for holiday. Wish I could bring myself to trust having everything on my phone, but I can't! I need the paper back-up.
On those lines, the app wouldn't work in Iceland on Tuesday so I couldn't claim my old people discount. See what I mean! I emailed them once home and was promptly reimbursed, with a bit extra. So all sorted. But if that had been boarding cards.....
Beautiful blossom everywhere. I love spring.
Happy springy day everyone

Love the piggy picture Amps
For yesterday,
The nesting action in the garden has ramped up, we have blue t*ts making their home under the eaves, robins in the old well and Percy Pigeon and his missus are seriously bending the branches of the hedge to get into the middle.
Trip into horsey town for a few bits of fresh, dropped a bag of clothes off at the Scope shop.
Met my friend for lunch in village garden centre, lovely catch up and then we had a wander around looking at the plants.
Over to see my pony, as it was much later she was already in and clean, yay! Tidied up the hair on her heels and her hairy fetlocks.
Watched and enjoyed the Wales game, we did mute the Welsh channel on tv and sync it up with the radio commentary.8 -
Morning all from sunny but breezy ICT
Pleasures recently
1. went to the hospital to see the consultant about my bunions. He said my symptoms are not typical (🤣 which is quite typical for me) but i'm going to be booked in to get the left foot done in the summer. He said "you can look at gruesome youtube videos about the op before you decide" err, no thanks.
2. trip to Kent to have lunch with siblings. Train rides worked well and brother didn't seem as emotional as he had last time.
3. Also saw my nephew for the first time since he 'grew up' - he's 15 and 5'11 already 😱
4. went to cinema last night with book group to see "The Motive and the Cue" - it was ok, the acting was good but was over-long and rather shakespeare-y. Brief discussion about our latest book "Diary of a Nobody" which was faintly amusing but rather twee
5. finished watching "The Gentlemen" and "Scandal" - the second was rather a relief as it had all got rather silly.
Have a fab day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
Managed to spend another hour in the gym at the local fitness centre 👍
Have had osteoarthritis in both knees for a few years, referred by GP ages ago to a physio which was of little help, followed by light exercise classes at a local health centre which helped a little. Finally referred to cardio-rehab classes at the fitness centre as it’s a closely supervised session. Hoping it’ll help with overall mobility 🤞6 -
hello. My hot water bottles and I have came upstairs, a tad early and it’s still light but I’m done for the day!It has lashed with rain, been sunny, lashed with rain. On repeat all day long. The first lash with rain was after I’d hung out a load of towels…I’ve just brought them back in and put them back in washing machine! They are wetter than when they went out.
Viewers came back this morning. I’m having a ‘think’ over the weekend.
Hospital with DD2 and loads of spaces! I’ve never known there to be as many parking spaces.Home via supermarket. We had lunch together when we got home then her and the pup left. I had a wee snooze…woken up by heavy hailstones.
Friend called then popped in briefly…left as dog vomited on rug! ( was leaving anyway)
Sad news about Kate. And horrid how she’s been hounded into making her own business public. Cancer is just awful. Same age as my husband was when first diagnosed. It just all kind of floods back.Beautiful rainbow earlier.
Leaves on the big tree across the road a beautiful fresh green colour ( my bedroom window view)8 -
Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Did not sleep very well after the strange message from my friend last night. However, it was nice to sleep in a bed at last!
2) I went to the coffee morning in our local theatre and had 3 games of chess.
3) Had egg mayo sandwiches for lunch. I have just remembered there is more in the fridge so I might make another sandwich just now.
4) An exciting afternoon! The community venture that sets up the weekly coffee morning has hired a room in the leisure centre for Friday afternoons so I went there (free) and played table tennis then I played badminton continuously for over an hour! I did not walk 4 miles today as I thought that was probably enough.
5) Had a pot of tea in M and S.
6) General tidying up, ironing, cleaned the sink. My special picture hooks to go into concrete walls arrived so I put a picture up in the living room that has been leaning against the wall for 8 months.
7) 2 of my Ebay sales did well so that is £20.
8) Smaller son and I went to Sainsburys.
9) Just spoke to my school friend on the phone.8
