Lainey - your pony is beautiful. She's like a pony in a story book7
-
Lainey I thought you’d written sad pony and thought she doesn’t look one but sad! Because she’s not! Gorgeous girl!So all week I’ve told my lurgy I didn’t have time for it ( 2 tonnes of stones😆) but today it said er, excuse me can you just stop and slow down or I’ll make you slow down!So yes to up early as that’s when I wake and had two dogs to do a quick walk. One in. One out. But then we all just went back up to bed and snoozed!Felt a bit exhausted just having a shower , so went back to bed for an hour. Friend called for about 20 minutes but that’s all the talking I’ve done today ( other than to the dogs) and I think my throat needed the rest.
Then I did about 20 minutes in the garden moving heavy plant pots back in place but that surprisingly hurt my coccyx so stopped that. Came inside had a snooze and then I’ve just been reading all afternoon/evening.
Had chicken Kyiv for tea with boiled potatoes and vegetables.
It was a beautiful morning then lashing with rain since the afternoon. And I keep looking at photos of my new house! I’ve already mentally redecorated, knocked a wall through and created a veg patch 🥕🥕9 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Had to get up early!
2) Park Run. A bit strange to go and no MrU (he went weekly for nearly 2 years). However, everyone was still friendly to me.
3) In the afternoon I went to a volunteer's open day at a nearby historic property. I left my name but it was run so unprofessionally that I think it might irritate me.
4) Made a banana cake then jacket potatoes for tea.
5) Sainsburys order hasn't arrived due to some technical failure but they've just emailed to say I can have a voucher.
6) On the sofa now, waiting for an exciting episode of Casualty.8 -
Good morning. Raining again!!
Had a great day yesterday in Lincoln. Went to a posh dress shop and both of us ( mother of the groom and mother of the bride- aka me) got dresses. Mine's a simple style in a quite dramatic print. More than I'd normally pay for a dress but not silly expensive, and it's the sort of dress I could wear again for a posh dinner or a cruise. MoG dress was fancier but still lovely. So by 12 we were done and eating brunch. And we'd stayed at the top of the hill so no mountaineering involved. A very successful morning.
Then when I got home there was a surprise package for me. An album of family photos of my mum and her siblings as children and young people. My mum looks very smart in her Land Army uniform. My cousin had found it in a clear out and thought I might like it. I'm delighted.
So a good day!
Today was going to be watching DGS football but we're very much fair-weather supporters so we'll have to hope the rain stops.
Happy Sunday everyone7 -
Thank you HappyCas and Mhags, might be biased but she is rather beautiful isn’t she ☺️For yesterday,
Woke up to blue skies and sunshine, so cheerful.
Lazy start as Capt S fetched cups of tea and we read in bed for a bit, small dog snoring next to us.
A lot of the morning was spent in the garden, washing dried on the line and we had a tidy up of the shed.
Headed over to see equine girlie, cleaned up her legs in the hot wash then I let her have 40 minutes with her hay net before doing a bit of work. She was in a very good mood so lots of requests for kisses by placing her nose gently against my mouth.
Tea was chicken fajitas then we watched and enjoyed the celebration of Irish music at the BBC.8 -
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Walked into town (another 4 miles clocked up) then had a pot of tea and a sausage sandwich in M and S.
3) Mowed the grass (a bit early but if I had left it longer, the Flymo wouldn't have been able to get through it).
4) Washed the paint rollers.
5) Cleared the garage a bit, put stuff in the car for the tip and the charity shops, sorted out a book for someone and put my CDs back in the car.
6) Took a chair upstairs and put the hook things back through the curtain rings here and there in different rooms. I obviously use curtains too enthusiastically!
7) Rescued the lovely waterproof picnic blanket from the cat's bed (thanks, MrU...) and replaced it with old sheets. Washed the picnic blanket.
8) Ironed the eBayed 3 more tops. What a boring job.
9) My friend and his wife visited! We were friends nearly from birth so decided to go to the same university then rented a house together. This was a very exciting visit this afternoon as they had not seen the new house before. They stayed a couple of hours.
10) Takeaway Greek for dinner.
11) Just messaging my siblings.
Quite tired now!7 -
evening all.

4. Did half of my two pieces of marking

Night all.I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
for yesterday
1) early start for haircut then walked back across the park - lovely day (though grass very soggy so needed to change shoes when i got back!)
2) treated my shoes to a brand new (and much needed) pair of laces - slightly longer and all the better for that
3) got my washing out on the line and dried - haven't managed that for 3 weeks!!!
4) I rashly agreed to play at a ceilidh next weekend so we had a rehearsal - i haven't played my accordion for a very long time but went surprisingly well
5) went to see Carmen with DrM, Mr E and his wife - it was very good (though raining again by the time we came out)
and today
1) early start for church - young chap last week auditioned for the choir after the service - we have a new bass!
2) bring and share after the service - very good (though if i want to get any pavlova i'll have to start with the pudding course, totally missed it, again)
3) new slabs were getting green and slippy (it's been soooo wet) - used dilute bleach and a scrubbing brush, 15 minutes later hosed it down - now back to new
4) then gardening in the community garden - I mowed half the grass (we've got two mowers, it's quite a large area) - love the smell of cut grass
5) off to pub for 2nd half of man u liverpool game expecting Mr E and Dr M to be there as arranged Saturday but just me (and obviously a pub full of guiness drinkers with guiness-shaped hats on) hmmm however the game was very goodMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Good morning.Today’s the day the photographer comes to take photos of the house so for the next 5 hours I will be a whirling dervish trying to get everything done! Have written a big list! And hopefully pup is out on his big walk at the time.Yesterday was one out and one in and one in and one out kind of day! His parents return tomorrow night. Thank goodness!Went as far as supermarket for flowers.Finished as much as I’m doing in the garden. It looks a lot better than it did this time last Monday. Hoping for dry at lunchtime so I can get garden sofa cushions out. Currently damp.
Changed winter curtains in lounge for my light summer ones…probably a couple of weeks earlier than usual but looks so much lighter.
Sorted out all my flowers. I’ve still got some left from a very RTC bouquet 3 weeks ago and the lovely flowers from church 2 weeks ago.Took washing line down…so no washing today! Amazing the difference it makes not being up.Moved bins to side of house…and kept forgetting when I went out the front to put stuff in them…we all have bins. We all need bins but they’re not very attractive are they!Friend phoned for a chat. And that was about it, resting in between pottering as my body has very obviously said to me er, slow down!Have a lovely day!8 -
For yesterday,
Early morning and oh look, it’s raining again, small dog did the quickest wee in the garden before running back in again and was quite happy to snuggle up rather than go for a soggy walk, finished my book.
Treated myself to a face mask and did my nails.
Roast chicken dinner followed by treacle tart then lots of lolling about on the sofas watching the football.
By the end of extra time the skies had cleared and we had some watery sunshine so wellies on for a walk around the field.
A few games of Yahtzee and then watched Fridays GW, you know it’s Spring when that’s back on our teleboxes.
