Morning all 🤞for a dry day, it was awful yesterday.
Mothering Sunday went well, OHs mum to lunch and she really enjoyed her lemon and garlic roast chicken, roasties, yorkies and loads of veg including her favourite cabbage 🥬! She doesn’t have a roast dinner now unless she comes to us. This was followed by homemade blackberry and apple sponge with cream and accompanied by several glasses of rose Prosecco. My son popped in (for his shower) and brought me one of his handmade (from pallets) boxes with a couple of plants in, which I was happy about.
Monday was food shopping and more rain.
Yesterday I went swimming and did 42 lengths, the most I’ve done for a long time, I’ve been adding 2 lengths each time. I’m really pleased about this as I find walking so difficult now.
Today I’m meeting my sister at a nice localish tearoom for lunch. There is also a small plant nursery there so hopefully I will get something for my hanging baskets as I think the few plants in them have drowned!
I’ve downloaded the book & mentioned.
Have a good Wednesday everyone 😊8 -
Art'noon all
pleasures for yesterday
1. my final tutorial whole day - possibly for ever
2. carpet layer came and refitted the carpet - it fell very slightly short in a couple of spots so i stuffed them with carpet fluff. OH hasn't noticed.
3. cooked slimming world fish and chips
4. my new rug looks nice although it is a little smaller than i'd like
5. finished watching 'the old oak' on Netflix.
Enjoy your evening.I wanna be in the room where it happens7 -
It’s been a day so I’ll post early! Another rubbish nights sleep. Sore throat. Deep gravelly voice
Absolutely lashing with rain and very windy overnight.Pup dropped off…for a whole seven days and nights! Yikes!Still drizzling but needed to get humphing bucket of stones! Back and forth but it all got done…not helped by the postie saying oh you’re still at it? Yeah looks like it!
Anyway job done by me, on my own and looks so much better.Pup out for his dog walk. Then had to wait in for someone picking something up that DD2 was selling…they then parked in front of my car and I was going out as soon as they’d been . Ended up having to toot them to move!Had a snoozette on the sofa with the dog which felt much needed. Sun was out by this time.Had hung a washing out and just brought it in, probably about 3/4 dry.
Decided on estate agent and have set the ball rolling. Should be up for sale by next week. And in doing that was able to make an appointment to go and view ‘my new house’( fingers and toes crossed) tomorrow morning. I’ve loved it from afar for past few months but wasn’t quite mentally there for selling mine ( it’s taken me 2 years!) so not in a position to buy and didn’t want to get my heart set on it incase someone else bought it. So I’ll go tomorrow and see if it is all that I want and need. I’ll let you know tomorrow! So lots of phone calls back and forth this afternoon with gravelly voice and coughs and splutters.Brain feels slightly frazzled with it all!10 -

5. DS2 took me out for tea/dinner.8 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Vaguely tidied up first thing.
3) Had to message MrU as I now have scabies again so have had to treat it for the sixth time. This means he will have it too. He denied having it.
4) Finally got round to cleaning the paint trays and paint brushes which have been soaking on the patio for weeks.
5) Bigger son's mother in law will give me her old, large patio table.
6) Had a message from MrU's friend (who I also know well) at 3ish so went over for many games of chess then dinner at 6.08 precisely, which was many tasty dishes including a sort of dumpling beginning with "a" that I have forgotten the name of! Then more chess. He is so laid back that sometimes I wonder if he forgets I am there and we both play on our phones. I thought there was something wrong with my forehead as I drove away and it is just that it is the first time in weeks it has unfurrowed. It is probably what it is like to go on a retreat!
7) Smaller son's new bed arrived so we put that together. He has slept on a mattress on his floor since July!
8) Watched 2 episodes of 24 Hours in Police Custody.
9) Bed in a minute with a podcast to listen to.

For yesterday,
The new routine of reaching for my Headplan journal first thing rather than my phone is getting bedded in and makes for a much more chilled out start.
Wanted to visit one of the discount supermarkets to pick up a few of their cheap plastic trugs in the gardening event so headed into Uni City as it’s the nearest, got half a dozen to make trip worthwhile and somehow popped next door to a well known home store to pick up 4 new cushions to brighten up living room, yellow & green for spring.
Capt S came home for lunch and we had a catch up.
Spent the afternoon outside, playing ponies with my friend, it didn’t rain woohoo 🎉
Tea was fish with stuffed peppers, bit of a quizzing catch up then fell asleep watching Ambulance.8 -
Hi everyone.
Just passing by to say hello, it's lovely reading all your pleasures.
Struggling at this end a bit with poorlies waiting for scans, results and so forth and things not looking great and then yesterday brother's wife was rushed into hospital for emergency surgery. We are really in the thick of it!
I'll try for pleasures:
1) Went to brother's last night to pass the time while SIL was in surgery. Fingers crossed it went well.
2) Other brother had the scan where you have to drink radiation first (can that be right?!) and has MRI scan booked next week.
3) Son's partner turned down a job offer as too far away and not exactly right, good she was offered it though, a nice confidence boost.
4) Son has decided a big push is required in the 'big house' so we are now involved again in a lot of DIY, good for stopping us brooding though I feel just beyond exhausted!
5) We wake up, we keep breathing, life is going on. Blimey, that sounds a bit dramatic....
Hope things are more settled where you are, enjoy your day whatever you are up to, nearly half way through March already!8 -
Hello . It has not stopped raining here at all today. Ghastly!Another rubbish sleep made even more rubbish by a pair of holiday makers leaving the house at 4.30am…Hag thought his luck was in with an early breakfast!Patio was cleaned this morning and so much better.Pup was picked up very early for his walk. I’ll need to check when tomorrow’s walk is.Hag and I went to the beach and even though it was pouring we enjoyed our walk. Tide was out but incoming. Hardly anyone else about ( no wonder it was ghastly)
Then we drove to the inn opposite ( fingers and toes crossed) the house that I really truly want and have avoided going to see until now. Parked up and I went in just to pass half an hour and said can I sit at the window as the dogs in the car . And chap said bring him in we are dog friendly…so in he came and would he like a wee sausage? Well of course he would and he ended up having two and they were all chopped up in little bite size pieces. And a bowl of water was brought over for him too. I enjoyed a bacon roll! And he lay on the floor like a very good doggy! First time he’s ever been in anywhere. Usually we are outside in all weathers! How civilised 😆 anyway we FaceTimed his big sisters so they could see him inside! Then over I went to see ‘my’ house. Oh how I want it. I look at it online several times a day. Good chat with the estate agent who was showing me round. Me…I’ll just knock a bit of a wall down. I FaceTimed DD1 and she said what are you like knocking walls down! Was in for an hour. Then drove home. In the heavy rain. Not long in and Aunt and cousin arrived so we went up to castle for lunch which was nice. I had a focaccia ( though a bit too bready which maybe sounds like an obvious thing to say! And pea soup on the side. I treated them.
Back home and they had a cup of tea and have just texted to say they’re back after a very wet drive home. ( live other side of country)
Chat to sister on phone. My throat isn’t sore but feels really rough and tickly and I think I’ve spoken far too much today.I’d put four trees in pots up for free on local FB page. So just waiting on one getting picked up. But they’ve just to help themselves from front drive. And need to wait for patio chap coming to be paid when actually I just want to put my jammies on! Will need to go and walk pup too. He’ll be early to bed this week! ( he’s here for a week)
Tomorrow is a silly busy day!8 -
Good luck with the house stuff, mhags
pleasures for yesterday
1. another walk with friend in the park. Quieter than saturday
2. back for lunch
3. washing dried on the line - mainly
4. yummy salmon for tea.
5. started watching 'the gentlemen' - it's better than i thought.
Enjoy your evening.I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Took until 4am to get to sleep. Good to get a few hours.
2) Did a few jobs. Ebayed some clothes.
3) My brother and my mum popped in during the afternoon.
4) I walked into town. MrU had cadged a lift and messaged to say he had passed my house but I wasn't in. I made the rookie error of saying, "No, I'm in Costa", so he appeared there... Another monologue about my many foibles and weaknesses. Who knew I had so many? I think I said 10 sentences in an hour.
5) Went with smaller son to Sainsburys.
6) Found some leftover mincemeat plus filo pastry and stewed apple in the freezer so made a sort of strudel.
Quite fed up today.8
