Up early.Skinny club lost 2.5lbs
Big walk round the park. It is blooming freezing today! The coldest wind. Swans were nesting . Daffodils in bloom. Ducks flying by. Lots of good mornings on the way round.
Home and grabbed my doggy and we had a nice walk round the castle.Nipped in to supermarket for some pink flowers. Met my husband’s best friend so had a nice chat with him.Got as far as my driveway then had a chat with neighbour across road…dog still in car ( he was fine)
Just got him inside went to lock car and saw neighbour from other direction so had a lovely chat with her. All the chatters!Continued with my mega list of things to do…bit more painting ( little touchy up bits)
Big washing out and it had a very good blow. Almost dry. Finished off on the radiator.
Sorted through my flowers.
Went to get a takeaway. It’s been a while. I thought I’ll go early…mmmm, so did lots of other people! Anyway it was very nice.9 -
1 Laid in a bit as I was feeling rough, but feeling better for the lay in.
2 The house hasn’t been deep cleaned for about 3 weeks now, so I did it all as I was feeling a bit better, glad it’s done it really needed doing, and got to use the new hoover much nicer on my back.
3 M and S meal deal of shepherd’s pie with mint veg made for an easy meal tonight.
4 I wanted to get a tip load together so started to clear bits, a big bag of very passed it clothes binned, a lot of paperwork either filed, shredded for thrown, but no nearer to a larger tip run.
5 DH has had the washing machine in pieces for many hours and not been swearing, one thing it does show is how good the cleaner I chuck through is thankfully considering I buy it and effectively chuck it away via the machine. He’s replacing springs and something else, but if it doesn’t work it’s a new machine as we use it daily.

Take care Highdays
For yesterday,
Woke up to sunshine and a very pleasant, spring day.
Spent most of the morning in the garden, weeding and tidying up. Found a big old bumble bee lying in the grass and obviously struggling so mixed up a sugar solution and put some on a teaspoon next to it, checked an hour or so later and there was no sign so 🤞it worked.Seeing small dog laying in the grass, dozing in the sunshine.
Over to the stables, bit later as I wanted my equine pal to get the full benefit of the nice weather too. Gave her a groom and had a chat with yard manager.
Tea was steak with potato wedges and salad. Watched and enjoyed the Texas night on BBC2, forgotten just how many good songs they have done over the years.6 -
Pleasures for yesterday
1. met friend in the park for a walk, coffee and catch up
2. Back for lunch. The house was empty so took my time over it in front of something rubbishy on the tv
3. finished clearing out the now superfluous sideboard and listed it on market place. found a home for everything in it (some stuff is going to the chazzer), which makes me wonder why we kept it, the space looks so much better without.
4. Ordered a new rug to put in the space, to soften it a bit - will put a large plant or similar in the corner.
5. yummy solo tea, also watching some nonsense on tv.
6. Menfolk had a good day at the footie.
Have a lovely mothering sunday all those who celebrate.I wanna be in the room where it happens7 -
Quick call in means fuel and connectivity.
1. 2 days' rugby watching in the Alma. Happy times, great company. & able to cope supremely well with all results, as an otherwise uninvolved AB, 😁although France's grand garçon Meafoa, their 5, was born in NZ and dear kiwi Gats is longtime Coach of Wales.
2. Lovely Mothering Sunday family service, spring posy and wise play written+enacted by Scouts and Beavers, boys and girls, DFV.👌👍
3. For you, Lainey:

4. Lots of happy chat avec des Français dans l'Alma.
5. Found 2 more unread Montalbano/Camilleri's. Bonus!

Hello. Bedtime.Up very early with a very runny nose…me: I don’t have time for germs 🦠
Drove to beach just after six o’clock. Just us and a far out tide.
Home. Big list of things to do today.DD2 & The Chap came over bearing yellow tulips. We went (at my request) to garden centre for a cheese scone)
Took myself and my very runny / sneezy nose back to bed for a couple of hours. Then had stuff to do in garden in preparation for 2 tonnes of stones being delivered tomorrow! All downstairs is tidy.
Just had toast and tomato for tea as couldn’t be bothered making much else.
Biggest hurrah was not working in hospitality for Mother’s Day! My old colleagues had a very busy day!8 -
Will show that to my farrier Ampersand, his round doesn’t cover such an area!
For yesterday.
Woke up to a grey, drizzly day and that’s how it stayed so a quiet day at home seemed the best way to go.
Coffee, bacon and catching up on all things Ambridge.
Lots of reading, I’ve finally got round to starting Love in the time of Cholera which has been on the tbr pile for quite a while.
Listened to the first two episodes of this https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000mrcd and did enjoy, I read an interview with the author a few months back and she explained how the beautiful but sometimes desolate landscape of the fens were so inspiring for a ghost story.
Toasted Hot x bun for tea, now March so allowed 😉

Early bed for me as I’m absolutely knacked!Up early and so much to do! The house is currently spotless.
Two tonnes of stones delivered. One tonne bag emptied by just me and a bucket! Oooft! 12000 steps back and forth! From front drive to back garden! Will tackle the other bag tomorrow!Three times of estate agents in this afternoon. I’m selling! And I was absolutely starving as they were back to back appointments so I went and got chips for my tea when they left at 5.30pm.
Blackbird singing on the fence and I’d a wee chat with the robin who chattered back!I’m a bit achy so will no doubt ache even more tomorrow. So early night it is!8 -
