2 I never thought the day would come but DH fancies trying chai and flax seeds in porridge, I picked my jaw up and happily agreed.
That's what mum always has on hers - I assume you'd recommend?
1) 4th daily workout in a row - go me! - I have it on silent in front of the tv and watch episodes of Grand Tours of Scotland's Rivers - works out very well
2) beautiful music at church including Gibbons Drop drop slow tears
3) lovely walk up Balgay with the boys and mum. Took her along the path we discovered yesterday
4) choral evensong with extra singers - we did the Gibbons again and we also sang Palestrina's sicut servis
5) which meant i missed the match but, due to extra time and a convenient bus, only just. DrM kindly bought me a pint (thirsty work that part singing!) Stayed an hour then home to yummy chicken dinner, CTMW and now Death in Paradise. And then it'll be bed to listen to that Benson ampers recommended BBC Radio 4 Extra - EF Benson - Secret Lives - Available now

Good afternoon. Lost another post and can't do that nifty Ctrl thing on a kindle!
Anyway, third sunny day in a row so I'll keep calm.
Short version
DH appointment cancelled. No surprise there . It's bang in the middle of the doctor's strike. 4th time though! It's really a check up to decide whether to continue with immunotherapy. New appt beg. of April.
So.. We've booked a week away in Southern Spain for the end of March. Cheap(ish) and hopefully cheerful package holiday.
Travel insurance for two old folk with ailments was a bit eyewatering but done now
I always think it's our mse ways that pay for the treats.
Happy 🌞 day everyone.

Hello! Happycas I remember the frustrations of cancelled appointments! When you’ve planned your day around your appointments and then it’s not happening! But you still need to be seen. Anyway a holiday will be lovely and something to look forward to.Early schmearly.
A very heavy frost to start and a car that needed scraped. An appointment at the recycling centre first thing. Two things ticked off the very long to do list!Home. And returned call to the boy child. He’d called just before I had to go out to tip. He’s alright. Has a new car. Still waiting on insurance sorting things out with bashed one. It’s been written off.Sorted out some stuff for charity shop. It’s all in a bag to go out to the car.Popped a few more things on Vinted.Drove to town supermarket carpark and met friend there and then we walked in to town for lunch. Her treat which was very nice. And a good old chatter and lovely food. A new to me place but we had such a lovely welcome, excellent service and delicious food!Back up the hill to the car. Was going to go to big pet store ( I really don’t like BIG shops) but just shopped in supermarket. Then headed home. It’s been the most beautiful day.
Quick call to sister.Mobile library. Took two back and borrowed three and topped up on dog poo bags ( free) Quick chatter with the library chap and quick hello to neighbour /friend and her doggy on the way back. We’ve got road works a-happening outside so I have a three way traffic light at the end of my drive! So every time someone is pulling up at red light the dog thinks it’s someone for here so is either barking /growling or wagging his tail but mainly the first two! I had to struggle to reverse out this morning, managed to reverse back in ( about a 10 point turn with the angle due to road work signs!) drove out for lunch then came home to someone parked over my drive so they had to reverse and I had to turn in nose first! Anyway one more day ( hopefully) and we’ll have a lovely smooth road!Made cookies. As I just wanted something sweet! Trying to use up with what I have. Anyway that was my tea…warm out the oven cookies!Oh and my first daffodils have flowered in the garden! Yay! Little tete a tetes under the willow tree.7 -

For the last couple of days,
Spending time with my family, youngest DSS and lovely gf travelled down and together with brother, SIL’s, nieces, nephew and all of their partners plus one gorgeous great nephew we all went out for Sunday lunch. Smashing food but even better company and times like these make you realise just how blessed you are.
Especially with my beloved, I’ve been thinking about getting record player for ages and yesterday, my birthday, he handed me a big box and guess what was in it! Time to dig out all that vinyl from under the stairs, including all of my Northern Soul, and catch up on all those old friends.
But no time yesterday as the car needed packing up and off we went to the Peak District, small dog along with us of course.
Our holiday cottage is stunning and set in the middle of nowhere it would seem but in reality just a 30 minute walk from the nearest pub.
We did venture out late afternoon but it was more to stretch our legs after the drive than to sample local ales. The air was cold but so clear.
Dark skies so lots of star gazing and laying in bed listening to an owl hooting from the nearby trees.
So, this is 60 is it, it’s really quite nice isnt it ☺️

Congratulations Lainey 🎂😊🥂
We stayed in a barn/cottage in the Peak District two winters ago and loved it 😊7 -
Morning all.
Belated 60th birthday wishes, Lainey, your birthday celebrations sound lovely and you'll find your 60's are a blast! You are almost in our neck of the woods so I'll order some good weather so you see us at our best, enjoy your holiday.
Recent pleasures:
1) Had some sunny weather recently.
2) The smell of cut grass as people start cutting their lawns, we haven't yet though.
3) Chats with family though big concerns still about one, scans and biopsies next week.
4) Eldest grandson is now 18 and all grown up, how did that ever happen?! Celebrations were had in spite of him having an exam on his birthday afternoon. Took his dad for a drink so he could flash his ID as he is all legit!
5) Plans made as my birthday is coming up too - away this weekend to the Cotswolds and the famous garden centre - will spend my birthday money in the lovely bookshop there, a drop in on the way back to see brother and SIL on Monday then afternoon tea out and the theatre on Tuesday. Lots to look forward to.
Have a good day.9
