Happy 60th birthday Lainey big birthdays go on as long as you need them to! Enjoy your holiday too!Stupidly early schmearly and then didn’t wake till 7am. Roadworks started at 7.30am but they just finished up. Hurrah! Just the noise from the house builders now 😆
Had to go to town supermarket to pick up a package from the lockers. And then in to local shop on way back to drop off a parcel.Cuddles with my dog boy who’s found the whole roadworks a bit stressful. The noise and vibrations from all the trucks and rollers were a bit much. So we’ve just had lots of cuddles.
And I’ve just enjoyed reading my library book.No Tuesday Tea guests tonight as they’re not feeling well and didn’t want to pass on germs which is kind of them as I don’t want germs! 🦠
so I’ll just have something easy.Bit of a mixed day very heavy rain this morning, then some sunshine and now cloudy though dry!6 -

happy 60th lainey fabulous birthday that just keeps on giving!
1) gbf had an appointment at the surgery next to the hospital - i had the hour before free so we met for a lovely walk round the arboretum
2) then i treated us both to a cuppa and half a millionaire shortbread each in the cafe on the main concourse
3) had packed lunch and tea - tea was consumed then a bus down to city campus for my evening class - the remaining planets
4) jammed the zip on the pocket of the rucksack one of my children left in the room of requirements and i use most day - couldn't get my coffee out - the pleasure? Mr E helped me unjam it (and yes drank the coffee in the pub)
5) hmm well can't find much pleasure out of the Luton Man City game, but got the tv switched over to BBC for the extra time Newcastle BBR game which was exciting and of course Tuesday night is ceilidh jamming night - wonderful musicMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Thank you everyone, very kind x
For yesterday,
A good nights sleep in a comfortable bed, not always the case in a holiday home.
A day of exploring, first to Matlock where we had a wander around the town, stopped for coffee & a cheese scone in a dog friendly spot and generally enjoyed a slower pace.
Drive through the wonderful scenery of the Peaks, so beautiful and the sun came out at times. Then on to Bakewell for another wander around, did purchase a couple of the famous puddings to enjoy later. Friendly people and several stopped to say hello to small dog who was sporting her rather fetching red waterproof.Back to the cottage just as really heavy rain started so lamps on, cuppas made and our books were read. Currently reading the Moonflower Murders after enjoying the adaptation of the Magpie Murders a couple of years ago.
Didnt fancy going out again for something to eat so rustled up an omelette with eggs kindly left by owners and we enjoyed those followed by the famous puddings, very tasty!7 -

Hello.Up early.
Pup dropped off.Pup picked up for his dog walk just as I was out the shower! Had to shout out the window to the dog walker! So my doggy and I went out…first to Lidl where I had a five pound off spend. And then to drop off a big bag of stuff to charity shop. Then home.Cleaned upstairs windows and blinds. I know…exciting!Did a fair bit in the garden…and knacked my back! Well actually knacked my back dusting but it was the gardening first! Was a bit drizzly but had my hat on and listened to the radio.DD2 had her tea here then took the pup home. We had RTC sausages, RTC potatoes, baby corn, peas and carrots.Started next library book. It’s been a very teary day. So I’m ready for bed. Tomorrow is another day. An odd leap year day that confuddles my sense of time.10 -
