Morning! We’ve been a nice walk already, went back upstairs then a very unsettled dog meant I came back downstairs and I’m semi reclined on the sofa! Hmmm…just when I think he’s feeling better.Anyway Friday was the first day in March ,my very favourite month. However it’s the anniversary of my husband’s death so it’s always a hard run up to the month. Seven years that feels like seven minutes. The week leading up to it I am so emotionally fragile and exhausted, the slightest thing tipping me over. A couple of unconnected calls/ texts this week that ordinarily I would just shrug off and deal with left me with a oh not this week. As in I can only deal with so much and they were just too much. So it’s been a crappy week!Anyway yesterday I try and put my best smile on and honour him on this day and do happy things. So Hag and I went to the beach first thing, just as day was dawning. We had a beautiful walk. I had a big cry. Drive home was a tad busier. Then DD2 picked me up and we went to favourite garden centre for our favourite cheese scones which were still warm. It’s hard when you’re also trying to be a supportive and encouraging mum and you can see your children still hurt with their loss as you hurt with your loss. Ooooft! DD1 cycled to the beach in Melbourne and son went kayaking. As we sat round my husbands bed just after he died we all promised to try and make the first a good day, not a sad day. And to do something that makes us happy. And I really didn’t do much else. Had a snoozette on the sofa with the dog.Had toast and tomato for my tea which was all I wanted and just hit the spot then I decided I was just going to bed as I really couldn’t do anymore of the day ( and when I’ve read back I did the same last year) just had enough.
Anyway we pick ourselves up from today. March is a busy month and there’s much to look forward to! We just have to get that first day done.Have a good day x9 -
Hugs Mhags ,it doesn’t seem seven years xx8

Oh Mhags. It's so hard and you are so brave. Seven long years or seven short minutes, loss is still real. Time isn't. Love and hugs to you all x7
-
Sounds like you certainly honoured your lovely man as promised Mhags x
For yesterday,
Waking up in my own bed with my own snuggly sheets & blankets, just can’t cope with quilts now as they seem all or nothing.
As we were technically still on holiday we went out for breakfast, a bacon & egg bap for me.
Dug all my old vinyl out of the under stairs cupboard and spent a smashing couple of hours playing old friends on my new turntable.
Off to see my horse, apparently she had been a bit grumpy so maybe missing her Mum? The early rain had cleared so we went out for a wander to enjoy the sunshine and get some fresh air. The ground is so saturated and there’s a lot of water standing in the fields, will this wet winter never end?
Home and stuck a couple of jacket spuds in the oven for tea. Usual Friday evening of a glass of wine and watching old TOTP’s

Have a great weekend everyone 😊7 -
Good morning everyone.
MHags, a hard, hard run up to the anniversary for you but you got through the day and can now gently recover and get on with the month. Unlike some of your friends here I didn't 'know' you then but your love for your husband shines through and I am full of admiration for the way you have picked yourself up and have made a good life for you and your family.
We continue with rain here with sleet and hailstones yesterday. We are going away for a few days so will catch up when we get back.
Enjoy your weekends.7 -
Hello. Many thanks for kind words. It really doesn’t feel like seven years. Oooft!Anyway nice doggy walk first thing. Just us and the robins and the blackbirds. Think the sparrows must have a lie in!Went back to skinny club. Not been in a good few weeks as just wasn’t in the right headspace. Lovely welcome back, such a nice group of folks.Went for a walk round the big park. Met friends husband as I was heading back to car, their pup is now huge! Had a quick catch up with him.Supermarket! Yay! Said no me ever but got a good few veggies RTC.Home and hello doggy. It really wasn’t that long!Painted the porch. Had leftover paint so just gave it a fresh coat. Sorted through the baskets of stuff ( doggy stuff mainly towels, leads and hats and gloves ) not putting decorative ‘stuff’ back but did put a wee bunch of daffodils in.Cleaned fridge this morning as I was restocking it.
Went for a nice walk this afternoon. Walked up to see the new houses at far end of new estate. A lot of money to be 3 foot away from your next door neighbour! Nice to see and hear the birds being busy.Saw a bee in the garden!
Hoovered car as it was plugged in at front door to do porch. Usual half a beach to empty!Had a nice salad at lunch then made a curry for tea…with corn on the cobs!Started a new library book.9 -

1) a bright morning - caught the number 5 to the end of the line (2024 challenge includes 24 bus routes) then stayed on another 10 minutes to get back to the stop I wanted

3) on way home called in at jeweller to pick up my necklace on its lovely new chain and he has cleaned the silver
4) ok so the result wasn't brilliant but good 2nd half with DrM and MrG - we all had bad results this weekend but the company as always very good
5) home to watch Ghosts with the girls - gave dd1 her chocolate coins and we shared my chocolate orange which i had been saving for her visit.
And now it's bed time - listening to add to playlist, the wonderful Mr Bowie. Night everyoneMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

For yesterday,
Bit of a lie-in and finished my book. Early morning sunshine quickly turned into rain so seemed the nicest place to be!
More record playing, now scouring online auction sites for more vinyl ha ha.
Over to see pony, topped up her hay net and while she had a munch watched my friend lunging her horse who was full of the joys. Got my girlie out once she’d finished and she was the complete opposite, slowly meandering around and any exercise to come into me for a cuddle. Not today then so back into stable and long groom instead, much more enjoyable Mum!
Splashed home through puddles and coming up to cottage when saw what was obviously broken down car plus recovery truck, man standing next to mechanic and lady looking very cold & fed up. Parked up and went out to ask if wanted cup of tea, yes please! Came in as frozen and had been there for 2 hours, turned out lots of people & places in common. Mechanic fixed as best as possible and was going to follow to garage. Hopefully they got home ok 🤞
Thai green curry for tea.
