Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Good to get up after a very short sleep.
2) Toast for breakfast.
3) Cannot remember what we did in the morning but MrU went to prayers and I went to M and S where he joined me later.
4) We did kitchen painting and MrU continued while I went to see my niece for a (belated) 9th birthday, in Costa.
5) Back home for meatballs for tea with tomato sauce from the freezer.
6) MrU and I went to Wildlife Club in the village hall of my old village. It was a talk on farmers thinking about wildlife.
7) Home again and smaller son wanted to go for a walk to Tesco, so we did that.
8) More painting! The kitchen is now finished (just after midnight) and I have just scrubbed every bit clean. It was the absolute worst room of the house when I moved here (July) with a hotchpotch of handmade cupboards (and not in a good way) with the sink unit rotting, smelling and coming away from the wall.7 -
For yesterday,
Early start as small dog needed a wee NOW Mum but Capt S had the day off so we all came back to bed to read books and listen to the cricket.
Made a cheese, apple and walnut loaf, smelt delicious as it baked but for reason below we didn’t try it straight away.
Lunch out with my beloved at our favourite place, food was delicious and company even better, we always have our best conversations over a table.
Lazy afternoon with more reading and general lolling about.Chilly walk around 6 but lovely in the moonlight and somehow small dog got loads of sticky balls stuck in fur so that took a while to sort out. Late supper of said bread which was oh my so good, today was all about food ha ha!7 -

Hello again.
Really not much at all going on here, just as I like it but it makes for teeny, tiny pleasures - nothing exciting or dramatic among these:
1) Felt a bit grotty after my shingles jab so yesterday was a day of pottering and sleeping. Had a good long sleep last night and am all back to normal today. Very relieved, I don't make a good patient.
2) A morning at home on my own so a chance to sort plans for February and a nice long chat with a brother on the phone. Some more plans made as a result!
3) An afternoon of knitting and more gentle escapist reading - oh, and a little snoozette.
4) Delicious artisan pizza from the freezer for tea followed by honeycomb ice cream. Yummy and zero effort.
5) Lit a new and very comforting candle this evening, made my home feel exactly what it is, a sanctuary.
Missing some pals on here - PK and SuffolkSue, hoping you are both ok and just taking 'time out'.
DfV - thought about you a lot in January, hope you got through it ok.
Another lovely day done and I am off to my bed. Night night, sleep well.

Quick typing on phone as smaller son is watching harry potter on the laptop!
1) a lie in
2) put everything back in the kitchen and reassembled the oven after cleaning
3) went in search of tiles then bought a bin and 2 fruit trees from Tesco.
4) sorted the apple tree pruning into thick lengths for the garage and twigs for the bonfire.
5) our football team won their 3rd match this week!
6) our friends came for tea and chess games7 -
For yesterday,
Bit of a lie-in and reading my book, it’s an old edition of the Moonstone with tiny print so needs a lot of concentration.
Made a loaf and dried some washing in the winter sunshine.
Played ponies all afternoon, both mine and my friend’s, there is normal time and then there is yard time which goes by in a blink of an eye.
Driving home at dusk and seeing deer in the field.
Treat of a chinese takeaway for tea6 -
Good afternoon. Mostly quiet here so that's good. I was a bit vertigo-ey on Monday so had to miss yoga. Gradually improved as week went on. DH had a proper head cold but that's on its way too so let's hope for a better week this week.
So not much to report! Lots of gentle decluttering and tidying going on. Lots of things brought back when we sold the caravan have finally made their way to the charity shop. The spare room looks more like a room again.
I've started another Elly Griffiths Brighton book but it's no good. I just don't get on with them! But love the Norfolk ones. No idea why! Will try to persevere a bit longer and see if it clicks.
Spent the morning doing bearings revision with DGD. Except as it's the best part of 60 years since I last used sin/cos/tan etc it wasn't so much revision as start all over again for me! Between us we got there, but, oh, my brain hurts!
So a little lie down this afternoon !
Happy Sunday everyone

Evening all.
I seem to have caught COVID from somewhere - but no idea where or when.
Pleasures recently
1. - 100. DS got the job. Ever since he was a little boy he has wanted to be a train driver. He's now going to begin the training (pardon the pun)
2. a drive to ICT for hedgelaying. Hedgelaying didn't happen (see below) but the drive was nice
3. a meal in the pub with friends
4. A UTI (hence no hedgelaying) which is not a pleasure, obviously. THe pleasure is being able to get a private prescription for anti biotics from Aberystwyth
5. a trip to the panto last night. Was fun (Didn't know i had COVID at that point)
6. A walk by the sea today - during which i was pondering why i'd no energy and had a lightbulb moment and came back to do a covid test.
7. Deciding to stay here to protect OH (and MiL) and DS - there's worse places to be holed up.
Enjoy your evening.I wanna be in the room where it happens7
