Hello ( as I’ve just said goodbye to pup)
Up early then usual doze off again…oh how I need lighter mornings and my vavavoom will come back!Pup dropped off.Did another 10 slabs in my jammies! No point having my shower before I did it. So that’s 20 slabs done. And also bad weather was incoming so wanted to do it before that! Pup not keen on the power washer so he sat at the patio doors and made sure it didn’t harm me!Went to vets to get medicine.Stopped at supermarket to do biggish shop ( by my single person standards)
Home…then saw an old colleague had just put a free lamp on FB so messaged her and then drove down to hers. Had a nice chat. She’s having a clear out and offered me other things and the magpie in me was like oooooh but I was restrained and said no thanks! My lovely lamp had got broken last week after being knocked over by two enthusiastic labradors one time too many so was keeping an eye out! Anyway it was nice to see her! Then home and was just waiting for pup to get picked up for his doggy walk. Poor thing ( and poor dog walker ) it was absolutely horrendous weather, lashing rain, hailstones, high winds. So he was absolutely soaked through when he got back!Chat to sister on phone
Started book I was given yesterday. May have had a doze…zzz
Then woke with a what time is it? It was 4.45pm as it was still light ( in the dull way it’s been light all day) so had to make tea. We had mince and slice sausage cooked together which was actually nice. I only had enough mince for one portion. Had this with RTC corn on the cob, carrots, sprouts and RTC green beans and peas.DD2 helped me with a bit of work admin and then they’ve just gone home. And there we go. First month of the year done. Next is the month I find difficult as it’s my count down to all the lasts. And it’s a month filled with such beautiful poignant moments and memories. But as always I strive to make the most of the here and the now. But oooft!9 -
1 checked in with friend, also had old friends check in on us which is sweet, as they heard the news.
2 Popped to Aldi for the weekly shop, and caved to some 50 percent off meat things, pork casserole, pork fillet, hunter's chicken, and some 50 percent off kiwis, snaffled to the freezer
3 Washed the curtains and re hung, a job that was way overdue.
4 I may have found somewhere locally we are looking forward to exploring.

Quick pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A lie in.
2) Worked for a long time in the garden, stripping decades of ivy and brambles from the right hand side fence.
3) Bulgur wheat and chicken for tea.
4) Smaller son was jolly today.
5) We have just come back from MrUs first ever trip to a pub!8 -
For yesterday,
Cold, grey day so grateful to keep busy, chores first thing.
Then a cores / glutes workout, only did 20 mins but the muscles were burning.
Helped my friend to set up some small poles & a jump for her mare to pop over, pony loved it and got very excited.
My beloved was out at meeting so popped some jacket spuds in oven and took small dog for her evening constitution, by the time we got back he had messaged to say was on way home so we could eat together.
We had a half conversation about wobbling down to the pub but cold out and warm inside so stayed in, very MSE ☺️7 -
Art'noon all
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Felt better but still lack some 'oomph'. The faintest of faint lines on the test
2. cooked a veggie curry - some for tea and some for the freezer
3. did a shortish circuit by the sea
4. finished a set of marking - i had to remark some due to students complaints (not my idea to accommodate said complaints; i think it'll come back to bite us but was out of my hands).
5. watched Ambulance
Have a good rest of the dayI wanna be in the room where it happens7 -

Frith, it’s lovely reading of MrU’s firsts
A new month and reset the year…. So much so that DH is wandering around saying “Happy New Year”
1 Other car is back on the road after 4 months sorn.
2 Cooked brekkies for dinner tonight, Cumberland sausage, egg, bacon, beans, tom and a slice of mop up bread.
3 We drove to and explored the localish place, wandered walking a few miles around, couldn’t get our bearing wandered back to the car and out via different roads, back home we printed off a map, as all of the bits and pieces of signage had faded away, good news dh loves it and wants to do the 5 mile walk, I think we did 2 to 3 miles today.
4 I may be slightly addicted to the newly found to me Lynda le Plante series Trial and Retribution showing on itv as it had me shouting at the set.
5 In working through what we have in we have a 6 year out of date coconut hot chocolate has been tried, which is fine so far and we finished a un named and un dated open but we don’t know when pack of biscuits, which somehow also wasn’t stale.
