Well done to J vjsmum and boo sucks to Covid!Up early o’clock with the doggy again…he was out eating grass at 4 am which I thought might mean vomiting but thankfully not!Went back to bed then popped downstairs to refill HWB and to put a gammon joint in the slow cooker! The last of the RTC gammon joints from the freezer! Probably my very favourite meat.
Anyway I then got up having watched the last of Griselda. And wore my lazy Sunday clothes …fleecy leggings and big fleecy oodie!Oh hello pup!Only had the heating on for about 90 minutes…I don’t ever want anyone else to feel cold in my house!DD2 and the chap came for lunch after going to see the house we saw yesterday. We are now in fingers crossed mode!We had gammon joint, roast potatoes/parsnips, yorkies, peas, carrots and sprouts. And they popped into the wee local shop and got traybakes which we cut up and shared out!And sigh…they left! And I started a new book which I’ve just finished. Just sat and read for 5 hours! Topped up the HWB blanket over my knee and a dog by my side!Made 2 wee pancakes with the leftover batter. And had with tinned peaches.Rain and wind picked up again over the afternoon and now pouring with rain.7 -
Well done Vjsmum's son, sorry to hear about covid thou.
Apols, I have been reading, but I haven’t posted we’ve had a hard couple of weeks with 3 ferrets passing, it left me / us feeling hollow for a while.
I’ve kept quiet as well, this January has been an awful one this year. Last night, Magic, passed away snuggled up in Sherbet's Spot between us in bed. She was 2 months older than Kit. That's 3 in one month. I will be so glad when this month ends, they were such big personalities, and their sleep buddies are wondering what’s going on!
1 Distracting myself with a lot of gardening, weeding, planted vast amounts of bulbs, better in the ground than out, tidied the green house, and planted some bulbs that were trying to grow on their own in there, they’ll be a “surprise”. Also, my first attempt at growing some sweet pea seeds, should probably have been done earlier in the month, but they are in now.
2 Using up various food bits, it’s nice to see some spaces appearing in the freezer and in the fridge.
3 We distracted ourselves again going out to Dungeness and Samphire hoe, walking a lot, and admiring nature, it sent us down a rabbit hole of looking up a lot of the histories, many more visits very soon I suspect as it’s helped by having a reasonable priced café and facilities on site.
4 Animal snuggles.
5 I ordered a second hand book on the hauntings of Dover, when it arrived, it had in it various paraphernalia from the previous owner, a long letter to them from someone, a bookmark and post card, all a fascinating snapshot into someone else’s life.
6 The last few nights, fullish moons have been very clear.
7 Watching a few lovely older films on the Talking Pics channel.

Oh, PK, so sorry, what a dreadful time you have been having. No words really, just very, very sorry and sending you a big hug, nobody could have loved or cared for them more than you, how sad you must all be feeling x
Lovely news about your boy, VJsmum, every little boy's dream and now a reality for your bairn. In a former life I worked with steam train drivers and steam trains, great bunch of characters. he will love it I'm sure.
Pleasures today:
1-5) All of life is here isn't it? And we are all in it together, celebrating and commiserating, willing each other on and looking for pleasures - big or small - along the way, wherever we can find them.
Good night, my dear pals.

Great news for DS VJsMum but ya boo sucks to the Covid, ICT is perfect for rest and recuperation.
So sorry to hear that PK this month has been a real doozie for you hasn’t it, sending a gentle hug x
For yesterday,
Glad to get up after a rough night, the big moon was setting behind the apple tree.
An exciting morning listening to the cricket, well done Mr Hartley!
Went to see my girlie, she was fast asleep in the sunshine and didn’t hear me until I opened the gate to her field. Long groom and then she had a hay net while I watched my pal ride her mare.
No roast dinner due to above but I’d prepped some pizza dough before I went so we had HM pizza with roasted veg and mozzarella.
Early night with our books but so tired that I only lasted 5 minutes.8 -

Rubbish sleep so was glad to get up.Hoovered, washed floors. Sorted flowers.
Went out for lunch with friend. Where we were planning on going was closed, so we tried somewhere else and it was closed! Anyway we ended up having a lovely meal somewhere totally different! And I was treated which was very nice!Home and hello doggy.
Had to sit down and work for an hour.Beautiful sunset.Catching up on weekend telly with HWB and a doggy!7 -
1 Changed our bedding and animal bedding and dusted about, a pleasure when it’s done, and “new” teddy fleece bedding for us from the Dunelm sale.
2 I meal planned for the week, today was chicken soup for lunch and from the freezer fish, chips and mixed veg for dinner, we’ve had a lot of snacks tonight.
3 Did a bit of clothes tidying as I’ve misplaced something, it’s still hiding somewhere. However, I’ve now also sorted a few clothes sets that are tatty I will wear once and save from a wash load.
4 A call from an old friend.
We’ve been invited to a wedding and so far I’ve found a clutch bag I already have, I had previously bought to put a strap on, I can use my own wedding boots as they are comfy for the day under a long maxi dress, now I still need to figure out if one of my dresses will pass as that I’m not so sure on, and they are packed away at the moment, will have a look in a few weeks, but feeling pleased about using what I’ve got so far.
