oo thanks vjsmum looks like it's 5km - will see what we're doing Saturday evening. We come back Sunday and we're chocker with work now till 3pm Saturday.
1) managed to drag my weary bones up for breakfast then back upstairs for virtual judging - exhausting! As chief judge I was ensuring presenters able to load, doing timings, warning at 6 mins then again at 7, chairing the Q&A AND scoring lol. Then chaired judges' meeting - pleased to say our rankings were very similar and the same for the all important top one that goes onto final
2) lunch we bravely set off on foot for a nearby food hall. we crossed 5 roads and survived! and the lunch was good
3) got my 10 minute symposium talk done and sent off - had to be sent by 16th lol
4) then our lovely tuktuk driver to hilton for meal with potential partnership people - very nice and great chat
5) then same tuktuk back home - beautiful at night - and now kettle on and very almost ready for zzzzz
Tomorrow we have our first workshop but till then here's a bit of hygge in the middle of Colombo at the HiltonMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Hello ! My Tuesday Tea guests have just left. We ate earlier tonight as they had something on afterwards.Up early then dozed off again and woke and we had snow which we didn’t have when I was out with dog. Not much snow and all washed away by afternoon.
Work phone call so another service booked in.Chat to sister.Made lasagne for our dinner. Which we had with potato wedges and salad.Started a library book and just going to sit and read now.Lovely doggy cuddles.
Made a pudding! A totally made up pudding that was unbelievably delicious! Took 2 RTC croissants from freezer. 3 mini chocolate muffins that were leftover from some occasion in freezer. Mashed up a banana. Layered the croissant with mashed banana. Tore up muffins . Added milk, cream and eggs and made a kind of bread and butter pudding and it was just so yummy!Usual chatter and laughter. Sent them home with remaining chocolate muffins and some pancakes. And two half rolls of wallpaper! Random! But out of my house!Did an ironing this afternoon. From being someone who used to constantly iron I hardly do any! But ironed my Vinted dress for work on Thursday and my new to me cardigan from charity shop ( as I’d washed them both) a table cloth and another charity linen top. Job done!Log burner on.And I’m drinking water…refusing to pay £11 for caffeine free Diet Coke!8 -
Good morning. Cold!
D Doll - so jealous. I know. I know. It's work. But how lovely to work in beautiful surroundings. And be warm too!
Lovely time on Sunday with DGD and Ozymandias. She went home with some of DH vinyl records, her latest craze. Very early Beatles, Stones, Dylan. We don't have anything to play LPs on anymore but she says DH can listen anytime he's at their house!
Yoga was ... different! The hall was still too cold for long slow stretching so she kept us on the move all lesson.. Harder work but I enjoyed it.
DH had to go for a fasting blood test yesterday so we had to then go to a cafe asap so he could have a bacon sandwich. Didn't want him falling over through lack of food 😂
From there went to Iceland. It's 10% off for over 60s on Tuesday and she asked me for ID. Made my day!
Then to drop some things off at the charity shop and have a wander round. Didn't buy anything, though tempted by some crockery. Might have a think about that.
A dress I ordered for DD wedding arrived. It's a perfect style and fit and DH and DD love it, but I'm just not sure. It's a sort of dusky ( mucky looking?) pink and I think it will have to go back. Might try the same one in navy. They're in the sale too so being MSE!
Happy chilly day everyone

Hi everyone, I'm a previous OS'er but I fell off the wagon for a few years. I'm back with the Declutterati on the decluttering thread and I really need to focus on gratitude and the good things in life so I'd love to join you, I've been reading for the last couple of weeks and now feel ready to join in if I may.
I'll start with 2 although the first one could cover 1 to 5!
1. Treated myself to a 5 hour spa day yesterday, just me! It included a lovely lunch and a facial with the most incredible heated treatment bed! It was a glorious day!
2. Spent 2 hours of my "me" day, wandering around our county town looking at shops and charity shops. I rarely get to do this, I didn't buy anything at all which was also good!

For yesterday,
Still no snow in our neck of the woods but by heck it’s cold so guess first pleasure is warm clothes and a heated house, not everyone is so lucky.
Earlier to the yard as vet due for girlie’s annual vaccinations, both equine influenza and tetanus this year. Most of the inhabitants were having a duvet day and mine was happily munching on a big hay net. Vet arrived within timescale which doesn’t always happen!
Lunch with Capt S.
Out to visit my network friend, not entirely sure we are the right match but will persevere.
Moved small dog’s monthly vet visit to later in the week as really didn’t want to go out again, we have a stockpile of her medication so all covered.
Eta, fab photo DD love love your outfit

Have decided to step back from classroom stuff. I will continue with my online teaching / marking / supervising for a while. A kind of semi-semi-retirement.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. first proper 'day off' (ish anyway) for some time. A nice feeling
2. made soup and marmalade (cheats - I used 'ma-made' but it's nice)
3. washing partially dried on the line
4. finished the Harlan Coben (sp?) thing on Netflix
5. went to the cinema with DD to see 'Priscilla'. the pleasure was being with DD, the film was... OK
Back to the marking (this is why i have to stop, i am struggling to fit the marking in at times now).I wanna be in the room where it happens9 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Managed to get an appointment for MrU with the Dr so went there. She was pretty good and we showed her the extent of our scabies too (what a lucky lady!)
3) Pot of tea and a coffee while we completed paperwork in M and S cafe.
4) Chips.
5) We passed our friend in town so stopped to give him a lift. He became homeless for a week recently but he is back and staying with a mutual friend and looked chipper today.
6) We've tried various concoctions to ease the after effects of scabies but the vinegar and sumac is working well so a stingy 10 minutes hopping round the kitchen after applying that again.
7) Had a free croissant from the M and S app so we'll eat that in a mo with a cup of tea.
8) Smaller son had a new monitor arm so I helped him assemble that. He has become addicted to MrU's tea making also.7 -
For yesterday,
The official sunrise time has now gone below 8am in our part of the world, always welcome.
Chores to do in the morning, as always my mind wanders to other things and a decision made.
Long chat with my bf.
Driving home from the stables and the sky was all pink & grey wispy clouds, perfect wintry sky.
Tea was chicken & mushroom pie with carrot & swede mash, perfect for such a cold evening.8 -
Hello again.
Brrr.... we've had a very cold spell up here, certainly too cold for snow in our neck of the woods though we did see a bit on the distant hills on our travels. Not complaining, love the cold frosty days as long as they come with blue skies and sunshine.
Recent pleasures:
1) Dinner and an overnight stay with my brother and SIL. A very good time was had. Came back armed with 'treasures' - some candles and kitchenware we had all ordered when staying with my other brother at New Year had arrived and have been divvied out, some scrummy leftovers and potatoes and veg from SIL's brothers' farm.
2) Lovely to go away, lovely as always to come home.
3) More car looking at - not a pleasure but we are slowly moving forward and the new one hopefully will be a pleasure but find it hard personally to get excited about something that gets us from A to B. Fortunately hubby is taking the lead so I can zone out a bit.
4) My leg is much better so hopefully son and I will be back to our normal route on our 'talk and walk' later, need to work off some lovely rich food so I'll huff and puff up the hills as best I can and look forward to polishing my halo afterwards.
5) Hubby has gone off set building for the next play so a pottering sort of morning, settling back into real life again and finding homes for the things we brought back - some sorting and decluttering is long overdue.
A lazy morning so far so will grab a coffee, enjoy the sunshine on the garden for a bit and then crack on.
Hope you all have a good day.
