1. MRI scan not long done. Had no idea what to expect. Bizarre, but & is grateful, especially as it was brought fwd from next Thursday by phone call 2 days ago.
2. Using ParkandRide for several buses, free with Ancient & bus pass.
3. First sweet pea out at last -
.....when Mhags is pulling hers up, all done! 2nd strawberry now has a pink flower.
4. Rain, rain, rainbutts filling. Saves pension pouring out of taps. Hopefully the figs, grapes, blueberries, strawberries, tomatoes, leeks, courgettes, gourds and whatever else decides it's growing can quench its thirst. More rogue potatoes have arrived too.
5. Trying to support/seek legal and TU support for former colleague, who needs to see out another year until retirement. Being shabbily treated after 19 years.

Chatter. And laughs aplenty.Home and haven’t done terribly much. Had intentions of gardening but pfft at the weather!Had chicken sausages and couscous for tea with veggies.9

Indeed a very wet day, which reminds me, must put my washing on and hope for a drier day tomorrow.
1) los for breakfast and for lunch - mum has been on a cooking frenzy!
2) the landscapers managed to get on despite the rain - oh just remembered no washing line!
3) finished work at 5, put on my OOO and had a long soak in the bath and read my book
4) then watched some wimbledon with dd2
5) then watched the first night of the proms
Off to Malta on Sunday then Holland Wednesday - when I get back next Monday the garden will be transformed!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Friday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Rained all day. The washing has been out for two whole days now.
3) BSD continues. Garlic mushrooms for lunch then meatballs in a HM tomato sauce for tea (with sauce for the freezer).
4) Phoned the solicitor and the house move date might be within the next 2-4 weeks.
5) Went to M and S to do some Arabic. The man who looks like a pirate who works there gave me a free pot of tea!
6) Bigger son messaged while I was there, inviting me round for a cup of tea (!) So swigged the free pot and went over. He went to look a police line up to this morning to see if he could recognise who stole his motorbike, so that is promising.
7) Phoned my school friend.8 -
Good morning. Not raining just now!
I think I like the new format. It seems to work better on my kindle than the old one did. Getting to where I want to be is trickier but the actual text etc is much clearer.
Ampersand.- Thank you for the John Clare poem. Love it. And dropples could be my new favourite word.
Highdays - ouch!! I hope it heals quickly x
Bits from recently
Took our birthday present round to DGD. 3!! We had bought her a wooden birthday cake. She loved it!
Catching up on housework. Not much pleasure in the doing of it, but at least I can now sit down with a clear conscience. The Methodist upbringing still lingers 😂
Not a pleasure. I've had a headache for at least four days now thanks to the stormy weather. The pleasure is I never get headaches normally. But these are bad! I've passed this tendency on to DD too and often get a text saying ' Oh my poor head!'
DH bought a beautiful big dahlia to go in an empty pot we have. I don't usually buy dahlias because of earwigs! But this is beautiful and so far, earwig free so it can stay!
Chicken shawarma wraps for tea. New favourite here. And strawberries and cream for afters. All nice and easy.
Happy Saturday everyone7 -
Not many pleasures
Rang hospital as had heard nothing ,unlikely to get appointment for at least another 2 months (There’s strikes you know) !

Just hope that the next time I fall ,I break the hip then they’ll have to do something .Although with my luck I’d probably break the other one !,
anyway pleasures
went to a quiz ,good evening with good friends ,we didn’t win but some laughs
History group v interesting
picked 1.5 kg of blackcurrants from my one bush ,first attempt at jam making a disaster ,think my jam thermometer is broken ,result so solid I’m chipping bits off !Will try again using the saucer test
going out for coffee this morning9 -
For yesterday,
Yes, rain, rain and more rain here too, will be typically British and say well at least it’s good for the garden!
Went to see my elderly friend in the care home, sorry to say that for the first time she didn’t know who I was but we had a good chat anyway and I helped her with the fortified milkshake that had been left just out of her reach.
Lunch and then into horsey town to pick up my new glasses, also popped into tiny bakery run by enterprising young lady and recommended by hairdresser, tastiest brownies ever.
Made a loaf and generally pottered around the house.
Capt S finished for the day and is on holidays next week 🎉9 -
Slinks back in - again!
Recent pleasures
Second festival done. Not really one i'd have chosen especially, was more one of convenience and to challenge myself. Found stuff i liked and enjoyed it all in all.
home to my bed
a trip to Scotland with OH. Sleeper was good and got 'some' sleep. Airbnb in Inverness was very good and we worked around the (very wet) weather to visit some NT places, Heritage places and some walking (all of which was free!).
Home and back to my bed
spent last night watching mindless TV - sometimes you just have to.
Have a great afternoon all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens9 -
A quiet day.
up and out just after 5am for a very soggy doggy walk. Was dry on way there and lashed on way back!Skinny club. Got my one stone award.Been in the rest of the day.Had a lovely chat with DD1.
Then just pottered, watched stuff, cuddled my doggy.A couple of showers but didn’t come to much…more threatened to!9 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Glad to get up after about 3 hours sleep!
2) Park Run at 9. I gave 2 people a lift. I didn't walk round today but had a little sit down in the cafe. Everyone was jolly as always.
3) BSD continues. Mushroom omelette for lunch then I fried some bacon, purple sprouting broccoli and the few remaining mushrooms with a bit of creme fraiche.
4) Went to town in the afternoon (slightly less rain today) and did some Arabic in M and S.
5) Will watch Casualty in a moment.
6) Just working out the complexities of 3 friendly football matches next week. 2 teams, 3 men, some diary clashes.10
