For yesterday,
Up early and opening all the windows after a warm, muggy night. The day was spent ‘mostly watching cricket ‘ said in my best Jessie voice and if you know, you know.
Did slow roast pork belly in a BBQ sauce and was served to coincide with lunch at Headingley.
We won which at least gives our trip to Manchester next week some significance.
Lovely evening walk with beloved and small dog.7 -
Hello again.
Back from the wedding weekend, totally exhausted but in a good way!
Recent pleasures:
1) The whole weekend was a triumph from the pre-wedding meal the night before to the wedding day itself and on to yesterday's garden party. A real whirlwind of froth and lace and rose petals and romance and happiness. My niece/goddaughter looked absolutely beautiful, as all brides do, we were all very emotional - seems no time since she was a baby and here she was all grown up. My sister made a perfect mother of the bride, she had worked hard on the preparations and it all went like clockwork. The weather was kind too with sunshine until evening on the wedding day and glorious sunshine for the garden party yesterday. A perfect wedding weekend.
2) My cheapo frock looked great!
3) Home and a blissful long sleep last night in my own bed.
4) A very lazy day today, no getting dressed up, no make-up, no heels. Don't know how the royals do it day after day. I'm happiest in old, scruffy 'downtime' clothes, pottering about, no pressure, and might even have a little nap in a bit.
5) Did manage a walk at lunchtime, struggled up the hills a bit as we went the 'hard' way but good to get some exercise after a few days of indulgence, delicious food and champagne. Salad for tea and am quite looking forward to it!
Lovely to have such excitement but also lovely to get home to 'real life'. Will read back and catch up on all your goings on while I have been away. Hope everyone is ok. Nice to be back in the fold!

Just lashing!I’ve a puppy at my toes and a big doggy at the other side! Being more companionable! Hopefully getting picked up soon! It’s been a long day! And he’s back for an all day visit tomorrow.
Made a nice curry for tea again. Had it before Pupster arrived.7 -
Recent pleasures:
Swimming twice last week and getting better.
Meal out with 2 old school colleagues and a good catch up 😊

Visit to the crematorium and then family lunch, it was one year since his dad died.
Then on to my niece’s barbecue at the stables to celebrate her horse’s 30th birthday! Didn’t have any barbecue food but had a piece of birthday cake 🎂

happycas not even the excuse of travels (though will be off again Sunday), just blooming busy at work! but had not realised i hadn't been on for 2 weeks 😭but have now caught up on the 104 posts I had missed. Thanks for the link to POA bop that is something i need to sort with mum love the rabbit in the bar due to autocorrect ampers
so for today...
1) a very tasty hm lunch - greek salad with a few extras
2) an early supper with friends which had the extra benefit of meaning i got out of work early :-)
3) cos they were going to the mousetrap and when i heard i managed to get the very last ticket for monday's performance - I am now sworn to secrecy re. who dunnit
4) the very last seat was in the very last row and the very nice lady next to me bought me an icecream at the interval and wouldn't take any money - i will pay it forward
5) saw another friend as we left - it was raining and she very kindly gave me a lift home
work has been stressful and lots of politics and bad feeling (the latter due to a marking boycott - union action is always very polarising and keeping friendly with both 'sides' has been exhausting) so these random acts of kindness have been particularly welcome.

30 is a grand age for a horse PH
Hey DD
For yesterday,
Into horsey town for provisions and met my pal for a coffee.
The Postie came with a parcel, a replacement for a well loved but well worn piece of clothing found on SH selling site, pristine condition so very pleased.
Over to see my equine girlie, bit of work done and then I put her out for the evening, saw our hare.
Listening to R4 on way home, interesting programme about bees & wasps, can’t say wasps are now my favourite of all insects but at least I know understand their purpose in life!
Tasty tea of stir fry with lentil noodles & prawns.
