For yesterday,
Over to the stables after breakfast as pal coming over to ride equine girlie, was a tad worried giving her behaviour day before but all went well and think they both enjoyed themselves.
Eggs from a village stall then stopped at nurseries on way home and picked up some more of their tomato feed.
Home just in time to get washing off line and onto airers before the heavy rain started.
Gave in to tiredness and had an afternoon snooze.
Wet dog walk then tasty tea of feta & spinach pie with veg.

& is in and out 6 times today already, with more weather nonsense, but happy to fall back on 'at least it's refilling the rainbutts.'Currently back outside, for who knows how long?1. Just had call from auction house re: a worthwhile painting, apparently &'s, found from over 3yrs ago! No idea what it is, but will pop over to cathedral town when mobile again via doblo, or with bus pass, to collect or enter for next month.2. Checking courgette progress earlier, suddenly saw two little clusters of emerging seedlings. So, 11 more tomatoes - I think - now potted up. We'll see what happens.3. Listening to Wimbledon.4. Huge works yesterday with carbon monoxide alarm fitted. Apparently obligatory nowadays. Didn't know, but done is done.5. Excellent slow cooker casserole with lambs' liver, h-g garlic, bacon pieces and use-up carrots. Probably sounds vile, but was 'lish, with broccoli and salad.#Good news re: son's physio appt topsy.Be sure to give your car reg.no. at reception AND at treatment desk, too. Parking scammers roam free at Addenbrookes, unfortunately.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Hello.
Bit of drizzle here first thing then luckily turned out to be a decent day weather-wise, still quite cool though and hard to imagine we are forecast 26 degrees on Saturday!
Today's pleasures (and not-so-pleasures);
1) Got the all-clear letter from my recent mammogram. Very relieved as I am now the age my mum was when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
2) Missing my mum a lot at the mo. Her first anniversary is looming, she would have loved the thought of the wedding and seeing her granddaughter married, she has missed so much in the last year, things I long to tell her. Hmm, not quite a pleasure....
3) Roofers have nearly finished the big roof, got the lead on and the Velux windows in - very intrigued that they can open and close themselves and shut themselves completely if it rains, also can be controlled from an app. Who'd have thought?! Hopefully they can start my roof tomorrow, forecast looks decent.
4) The tough walk with my boy is maybe getting a bit easier though I prefer the less strenuous route! Did the tough route today.
5) Decided that I really do not like packing! Made a start today sorting stuff for the weekend but don't like the pressure of having to remember everything, always take far too much stuff 'just in case'. Trying to get it all into cases, bags, suit carriers and what-not and then into the car without crushing the hat is a job for tomorrow. Don't envy the royals having to get togged up every day, once in a blue moon is enough for me. Practised tottering about in my heels today and they're not even that high but it was a relief to get my slippers on again.
Right, off to tidy up my 'book corner' before tea. Been meaning to do it all day but, like for all jobs I don't want to do,I'll set the timer for ten minutes and by then it will either be finished or I'll have the impetus needed to carry on and finish it. Reminder to self: keep it tidy as I go along and it won't become such a big job.
Enjoy your evening.

Hello
Was up and out early with doggy. Just us and the birds. Then we went up to local castle and sat outside in the walled garden for toast and sausage. I shared mine. Had a nice walk afterwards.Home and cut the grass. Did a bit of weeding and deadheading. Garden bin out for tomorrow. I missed the last collection so it’s absolutely chockablock
Sat out on garden sofas for the first time in weeks! Was way too hot then way too wet! However I’m glad I brought the cushions back in as we have had a couple of evening showers.Went a walk with work colleague tonight. A couple of spots of rain on the way. Then enough of a shower there that I didn’t have to water the plants.7 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Day 3 of the BSD is over so that is the worst out of the way. I made a courgette omelette for lunch then chicken shawarma with salad for tea.
3) Went to Sainsburys cafe mid afternoon and had a text message conversation in Arabic about the new football season.
4) Went to see bigger son to drop off a t shirt I bought him in the charity shop. The workshop (cellar!) was open so I had a look down there. He was carving two spoons today.
5) Went with my brother to a survey he was doing. We saw 2 car crashes on the way! (Not serious). I had a walk round while he was working and had a look at the outside of the SAS HQ. I could tell you which village it is in but then I would have to kill you...

pleasures for yesterday and Tuesday
DGS from the ‘Fine City’ arrived safely by train ,he’s just finished GCSE and will be going into the city centre for 6th form
He’s a bit of a dreamer so DS and I did wonder where he’d end up ,should have had more faith
He helped me cut back weeds on the footpath behind my garden .
Then he cut my three ‘lawns’ He’s so fast ,I have a battery mower and it takes me at least two charges he did the lot on one charge and it hadn’t run flat !
Local DGS called after college and they grunted at each other ,his hay fever is really bad this year .
They grunted to each other (19 months between them ) took a photo of them together, same height .
Then DGD came ,another photo ,we put DGS back on train and came home had some food and a long talk re uni etc .
took her home ( I’m working of getting the two eldest driving ,it’s getting hard for me now)
Was so tired and in pain ,took strong painkiller and an early night .
Still not got an orthopaedic appointment was referred urgently 7 weeks ago ,had a letter saying I will hear within 8 weeks ,only 1 more week until I can chase .Apparently the urgent list for surgery is now One year .
private hip replacement is £14,000 ! Can have it on ‘easy terms’ but v unlikely I would be taken on due to the heart problems.
off to wine tasting group today ,might drown my sorrows!,5 -
Oh SSue, hope there was consolation in the company if not the wine, ((hugs))
One for Highdays too, I still have the ‘ I must ring Mum and tell her ‘ moments.
For yesterday,
Another cool and showery day, it’s more like April than July just with lighter nights! At least the garden is getting watered.
With my equine pal, she was fast asleep when I got there and stayed lying down while I was chatting to fellow owner. When she finally got up she just had a big pamper after the exertions of the day before, she had come in surprisingly clean after being out during a wet night so it wasn’t as hard work as it could have been.
Home and there was a parcel of SH books in the box, always a pleasure.
Afternoon showers but I pottered around the garden in between, so many bees on the honeysuckle and think we might have a nest in the front lawn.
Had dug around in the freezer and found some chorizo sausages so had those for tea with crushed new pots & veg, followed up by strawberries and ice-cream.4 -
Good afternoon from the seaside. And it's nearly sunny.
Ampersand. I liked the idea of a worthwhile pig. I think I'd like to own one!
S Sue - oh it's all so difficult! I wish things could be sorted for you. I'm glad DGS did your lawns. That must be a big help. Drink the wine! What the hell!
Still no news about the biopsy except it's been referred to area MDT. So we decided to come to the caravan while we could! DH has always done all the driving. He's good at it; I hate it. We work to our strengths. But this time I bottled up and did my share. It wasn't that bad really!
It's good to be back and hopefully give us both a breather before the next round of treatment. It's so peaceful here; DH can recharge his batteries.
We have an annual discussion as to whether to sell the caravan but it's good to have when things go wrong. We're very lucky.
Off out now to see the sea.
Happy Thursday everyone
