1. Have eaten first home-grown green beans - SEVEN!
- with interesting home-made pastie containing home-grown garlic and all was yum, plus h-g mixed salad leaves and another handful of raspberries. 3 pasties and a full-size pie remain.
2. Big rain just now out of today's on/off sun+cloud sky. All water butt refills are welcome, to help offset expensive watering. It's a rare cardigan day for &.
3. 'Eat from the freezer' not only sensible, but necessary as, sadly, new2& vehicle needs new fuel tank- Realistically, there's several months' main munch in store.
4. Good 7 miles walk to/fro yesterday's special monthly service. Good big sing.Return ride kindly offered, but was pleased to say 'Thankyou, but No Thankyou.'
5. Envelope found in letterbox containing 3-fig. cash! Wild guess at donor - correct - and £££ returned with many thanks for generous gesture. Someone had heard about new2& vehicle woes, but & is a survivor.

Pleasures for today
1. Day 1 of work done
2. Took food into work & avoided the shops
3. Lifts to and from station so saved petrol money.
4. ds2 managed reasonably ok today at home - had to simply list of medication for him to manage the pain
5. Machine to start the bone growing is easy to operate.6. Yet again my wonderful neighbours who look after ds2 in the afternoon when I’m working.
7. The wonderful people who don’t know me on this board who give virtual support - it is much appreciated just to get the words out.10 -
For yesterday,
Horsey town first thing, food shop and a quick coffee with my friend.
At the stables, with cool, blustery weather and a mare in season I plumped for groundwork but my girlie wasn’t concentrating so to stop frustration on both sides we just did a quick 15 minutes and then stopped. After nearly 6 years together I know when to push and when it’s not the right thing to do.
Errands and chores in the afternoon, raining on and off.
Capt S had late afternoon meeting so popped a couple of baked spuds in the oven and took small dog for a walk, dodged the showers and got home just as he did.
Chilly evening and with the window left open our bedroom was positively artic when we went up to bed so extra blanket popped on, bbrrr summer?

well done on managing to post & - I like the idea of 'a good big sing'..
For yesterday
1. cleaned the house within an inch of its life
2. stopped off at some Roman ruins on the way back
3, managed to make a scratch picnic from what we happened to have - some sourdough bread (ripped off with our hands), butter spread with a bamboo spoon i found in my bag, cheese, ham, tomatoes and crisps followed by one satsuma between us
4. so we also went to a nearby NT place for tea and cake. Nearly lost it with laughing when OH 'pinged' a scone across the servery with the tongs .🙈😱🤣
5. Home again and seeing my boy - who i feel like i haven't seen in a long while as he's been on nights.
Have a great day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Day 2 of the BSD so a big headache now. Good to have made a start. It gets better after day 3!
3) A very exciting day out. We went to a large city to get some free SIM cards from a charity, with 5 chaps in the car as well. This was very successful as they will provide more than we expected. We then saw a restaurant of the nationality of 4 of them, so went in for a chat. It was actually very posh, and the menu was more expensive than anywhere I have ever eaten. In the end, we thought we would buy one meal as a take away for a little taste.
By chance, the family running it spoke the dialect of the one man who has no language in common with anyone else! So it was good for him to have a conversation. They brought over some little glasses of local alcohol. The owners called me over to give me the takeaway bag and whispered that they had put 3 meals in and to give them a call if they want anything or help with education or going to college.
4) Did some Arabic.
5) Have been in bed for a while (headache) and listened to a couple of podcasts. Ampersand - Louis Theroux interviewed Nick Cave.7 -
Pleasures for yesterday
1. woke up early without alarm at 4am to get up for work
2. trains ran on time.
3. 2 meetings which I thought the people would resist - listened and complete tasks allocated to them.
4. Doggy greetings on my way home
5. ds2 had managed and my lovely neighbours cooked him lasagne for tea/dinner.
6. 1st physio appointment through for ds2 on Friday - downside it’s at addenbrookes an hour away.6 -
Topsy, I hope your son’s treatment is successful and that you take time to look after yourself. Frith I’ve never tried the BSD diet but as I’m trying to lose weight I’ll have a look. I’m just cutting down and vaguely following SW principles at the moment 🤞
Bad news is chiropractor and gum dentist are going to cost lots of £, good news is I have money in savings and hopefully both will help my health and well-being.
Enjoying the cooler weather but at the same time missing the sunshine ☀️ and hot tub!
Watching lots of tennis but not doing much housework!
Managing to keep up the swimming twice a week and enjoying it a bit more.
Some family things planned this weekend, but alas, as usual my son will not be joining in ☹️
Off to the chiropractor again this morning and then meeting 2 old colleagues for an early dinner later.
Have a great Wednesday everyone 😊6
