1 The lost top has been found, in a sun hat! Neither of us know how it got there, but it’s been found while looking for something else lost.
2 Planted up a “super trooper” rose gifted from MIL.
3 Using up bits and bobs we have, tonight I made up a burger, chicken bits and onion rings with home grown salad leaves in a fake away.
4 Did a bit of gardening and another bag of weeds gathered. Also clipped up a few plants’ sunflowers and roses against the winds.

For yesterday,
Wide awake at 6am but read in bed for a bit.
Over to see the pony, very windy with squally rain so opted for a housekeeping day, cleared out my big box and put all random bits & bobs of leather ( equestrians tend to keep a lot of things for Justin ) in a bag then cleaned our tack. Meanwhile my girlie dozed in her stable, occasionally accepting small offerings from her human slave.Lunch and then had planned to go out in the garden but the rain was pouring down by that point so had a wardrobe tidy instead with a few bits earmarked for charity bag.
Mini nap on the sofa with small dog.
Evening walk during clear spell, a big part of our buddleia had come down in the wind when we got back ☹️8 -

So yesterday turned out to be uber stressful for a Saturday. All started well but then...
1) the usual lazy start - love Saturday morning! then into town to sort first payment for builder landscaping back garden - note to self, put 'small push mower help yourself front garden' on the local whatsapp
2) then trundled off to the coffee shop frequented by DrM - he was as expected there with MrI - I produced a late birthday present - a 'Please do disturb' sign (50p from Tiger, I know how to splash out!) - which went down well.
3) Noticed carrot cake (£2.60) came with free small hot drink (£3.20) - I wanted a medium and didn't want carrot cake but did point out to lady behind me who only wanted a small hot drink - she did indeed go for the carrot cake
4) called in at work to get stuff printed out for Malta (External Examining) and check-in. Ah, I have no booking ref. Last year I booked myself and claimed back, this year they've gone to centralised procurement - bother. Of course no-one at uni to help out, Ryanair couldn't help (GDPR), considered what I could do while at 5) below, got back and bought another ticket (already £20 up) but checkin at airport £55 and no guarantee they could have helped at the airport, and also could have been mistake Malta end. Will see if i can claim back, if not expensive lesson to self, check all stuff while still time to do something about it!!! I do have Malta to Schiphol coming back but then nothing for Schiphol to Edinburgh. have emailed them again to say all this and hope they can sort out that bit when i am in Malta!
5) very good time at Bishop's (annual diocesan garden party) despite 4) above. Good company, good food and relatively good weather. and cos i'd taken gbf as my +1 got a lift
Home, watched the tennis, put on my washing (now in tumble drier as garden is mud bath and washing line is goodness knows where) - due back next Monday as stopping over Netherlands to see DD1.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Morning all 😊
Recent pleasures:
Lunch and good catch up with BF, sitting by the river in nearby town. Bad bit though, I lost my very nice silver and amethyst and sapphire bracelet ☹️ Also her chicken and chips 🍟 had fewer calories than my “healthy “ sandwich (only found out afterwards).
Didn't book second session of chiro this week, so saved £45 and 2 hour round journey. Just as well as I had to take large doses of antihistamines for a very nasty bite and I was so tired.
Enjoyed watching the tennis 🎾 this week, even the ladies once the grunter had gone. Good luck to Alcarez this afternoon.
Made a very tasty pie last night with left over creamy garlic chicken and peppers, bulked out with mushrooms and ham and topped with ready made pastry.
Getting up shortly and going to make OHs favourite kokinisto. Going to brave the ninja 15 in 1 which is staring at me in the kitchen 🤣
Have a great Sunday everyone 😊

Good afternoon. Blustery is the weather word today!
S Sue - that's awful. To be in so much pain and have to wait so long. Hugs x
D Doll - what a mess! Hope you get it all sorted/ refunded quickly.
Breakfast with DD and fiance today. Not done that for a while.
Just bought Enchantment by Katharine May on a kindle deal. Tried a preview and it looks lovely. A gentle,read-a-bit-a-day book.
I never watch sport but turned tv on yesterday and it was wheelchair Wimbledon. I watched for ages. It was amazing! So much skill. I'm in awe!
Actually managed to do some crochet yesterday. Not picked it up for ages.
We're beset by harvest flies at the moment, driving us crackers!
Think the garden may have dried off enough to do some weeding now. They've grown like billy-o in all the rain.
Happy Sunday everyone

Art'noon all - taking a break from my marking.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. waking up in my own bed at a not unreasonable hour
2. watched the first episodes of a new series (to me). Manifest on netflix. Not usually my thing at all - it's quite supernaturally - but it's drawn me in.
3. chatting to DS - he misses us when we're away
4. marked two dissertations - including one i was worried about that ended up with 80%
5. DD came round. SHe'd also missed us - we had left over curries from the freezer.
Have a good artnoon allI wanna be in the room where it happens9 -
Day number one done. My least favourite day of work. The pleasure is it’s done. And also one to go!Woken by a dog vomiting at 00.01am…on my new carpet! ( sobs!) anyway the pleasure in that was the solar lights were still on in the garden.Alarm went off at 4.30am, pressed snooze for 5 minutes then got up and walked doggy before his breakfast. Hardly any birds awake at that time.
Home mid morning to see my boyo.Tips, more than I had this morning but not by very much!Home with a couple of leftover baked potatoes so I’ll incorporate one for my tea tonight.8 -
Hello.
Very brief tonight after an afternoon of tennis!!
1) Men's final, thoroughly enjoyed it.
2) Little fella had a wonderful end of year report. Apparently he is a pleasure to teach and a credit to himself, his family and the school. Aww!!
3) Big shopping trip but means we are now stocked up with fruit, salad and veg.
4) Lost a pound this week in spite of the wedding feasting. Onwards and downwards, plenty more still to shift.
5) Thanks to hubby's efforts, my summerhouse is finally finished, desk was worth the wait - it is a thing of beauty.
Right, a mad dash now to get tea ready and a quick tidy up. Must catch up now Wimbledon is over, no excuse now!
Have a good evening.11 -
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) My fruit and veg box from Oddbox contained some useful things and I've just had the email about next week's and by chance it contains all my favourites.
3) Printed out English ready for the lesson tomorrow.
4) Went to town and looked round the charity shops.
5) On to Sainsburys cafe for a pot of tea and some Arabic.
6) Parked neatly in floody town again on the way home as I wanted to look again at the chairs in the charity shop. Walked back to my car and it has been written off (value wise - still driveable). I was out of the car for less than 10 minutes! Somehow, they managed to dent the back inside corner, dent and scrape the back arch, dent the back door half to death AND scrape the driver's door! Weirdly, the mirror is intact.
Pleasure is that I can still (just) open the doors and it looks like the 2 shops nearest to the car have CCTV...
7) Back home and enjoyed watching the Wimbledon men's final.

@Frith - That happened to me also. Thank goodness you weren't in the car. I hope they catch the person responsible. What happens now with your car? Here, we just had it repaired (took a couple of weeks) and the insurance company paid most of it. But it's hard when it not only isn't your fault, it still costs you time and money. Hugs.9
