Sorry to hear about your car Frith, hopefully the cctv will reveal the culprit and the police can be involved.
For yesterday,
Didn’t sleep so well as the wind was howling around the cottage, pleasure was getting up to make a cup of tea and not seeing any damage.
Normal routine of bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge.
Time spent in garden, still breezy but nice in the sunshine, mostly dead heading and tidying but did pull a couple of beetroot to roast with lunch.
Watched a bit of sport , our women cricketers just missed out in their ODI which means that the Aussies retain the ashes, let’s hope that is reversed in the mens game!
We also watched the film about finding Richard the third under a Leicester car park, bit silly at times but entertaining enough.
I won’t be around for a few days as heading up norf for a few days to watch the cricket, nervously checking the weather forecast but fingers crossed we will get to see some play.

Paulie - hope your bracelet returns to you. I know that ache of something precious lost.
Frith - re: car damage. Found similar on previous Meriva after tutoring. Couldn't open left front door.
1. Downpour rains, horsey poo, rainbutts full again. All mean lovely 'Cheers!' to various bits of & gardening. More pink strawberry flowers. Might be strawberries eventually.
2. Did Curiosity Fair, had some sales. Others didn't. Several rugby club families came by, so happy chats. Obviously v.different from Spitalfields with London footfall, but can do some banking. Hallelujah!
3. Very special and unexpected visit from special family person for a few hours.
4. Packed and away over the Gog Magogs just in time to catch that incredible 5th set and Alcaraz, very suitably Wimbledon champion. & delighted. More to follow, on all surfaces, for sure.
5. 2nd handful of h-g blueberries with this morning's plain yogurt. More coming.

Concerned msg'g with friends in deep Southern Spain. They've bought a portable air conditioner to cool the bedroom for an hour at night, curtain drawn to keep it in. P. - ironically - 'as we moved to Spain for better health and weather...'

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Lost 4 lbs.
3) Phoned the police - waited half an hour, no reply. Phoned the local district council (in case they own a CCTV camera) - waited half an hour, no reply. Phoned one of the shops overlooking where I parked yesterday. Helpful and chatty man but he doesn't have CCTV.
4) Got to the Job Centre just before 2 and had the second interview with my guy. This went OK, but raised a lot of questions.
5) My solicitors emailed to say the last preparations are in place with my purchaser's solicitors, then they will contact me with a moving date! The purchaser has asked that I have the air source heat pump serviced, so I have agreed to that, with my teeth gritted. Another £125...
6) Went to M and S after the Job Centre and did some Arabic. Remembered that I know one of the town councillors in smashy car town (voted in this year) so I messaged him. By an absolute fluke, he saw me talking to the man in the car in front of me yesterday so he knows exactly where and when my car was driven into. He is going to walk round the shops asking for CCTV and ask at the town council.
7) The location of the football match I am driving guys to tomorrow has changed and is somewhere much more scenic.
8) Got home and thought I would sweep the garden of the weeding I did. It hadn't stopped raining long enough for me to do it before! Of course I ended up cutting more stuff back, then weeding, then moving things round a bit. 1.5 hours went by.
9) Another volunteer phoned me about my opinion of how we are dealing with things and we ended up talking for an hour.
10) Tidied up a bit and cleaned the bathroom.8 -
Greetings from a very warm Malta - 41 degrees earlier on. So after the troubles of the flight all went smoothly apart from flight delayed 90 minutes. No response from Ryan Air and i still don't have my flight details from Amsterdam to home. The person who booked the tickets was away but is back tomorrow so fingers crossed. Positives are:
1) have had a wonderful 2 days in Malta including a wander to the sea yesterday evening, a lovely lunch by the marina today and a reception tonight
2) the roofer has been round - the sky light does not need replaced, just new sealant (phew), there was one slipped slate now fixed, gutters emptied and leccie back working
3) the garden is coming on - looking forward to seeing it Tuesday
4) as always time away from the office has given me time to reflect - i have a good plan for the next 5 years
5) I am now packed, m'eh and winding down to Rachmaninov 1- alarm set for 4:25

Evening all 😊
You do get about DD, hope you get flight details sorted.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tennis 🎾 on Sunday
The beef kokinisto cooked in the ninja turned out very well 😋 enough for Sunday and Monday.
Went to chiropractor yesterday morning and on way back called at my sisters. We had a nice drive out to some beautiful villages, although her chosen places took me halfway back from where I had just come from 🤣
Met my BF in Brightlingsea today. She had hired a beach hut for the day and we spent the time chatting, watching the boats and people go by and strolling along the prom, all very enjoyable. I even caught the sun even though it was only out for short periods. I was very good and took a tuna and pasta salad 🥗 for my lunch and some strawberries 🍓 and raspberries to nibble on (the scales showed a loss of 11 lbs this morning).
Night all 💤.

Hello. A late post for me !Monday was spent at work. Bah! But it’s done. And much better tips than the previous day. Jam jarred.DD2 and The Pup came for a visit which was nice as a visit rather than a you’re looking after him all day thing! But we both ( me and Mr Grumps ) sighed deeply when they left then enjoyed the rest of our evening!Tuesday.Mr Dog was up very early this morning and I wasn’t quite ready to go walking then. So he had his breakfast and I went back to bed. Then at a more appropriate time we went out and about, up to local castle where we sat out in the courtyard. Enjoyed a roll and sliced sausage then went a nice walk. Left just as the rain was starting.Got home to say hello to the robin. Sitting on my wall and the first time I’ve seen in months. Taken as the sign I needed it to be today.First raspberry picked and enjoyed by the doggy.Rained the rest of the morning/early afternoon and as usual dried up around 4pm ish.
My lesser spotted son called me. It’s been a while crocodile but he’s doing okay and was nice to chat for about 40 minutes which is a long conversation by his standards!Sister called…then DD2 called so called sister back as it was final exam today so she was calling to say it was over. Hurrah! It’s been a bit stressy past few weeks! Anyway that was a brief call then back to sister.Went out in the garden for a bit and did some dead-heading. Picked some sweet peas. Then it was time to get ready for going out gallivanting. The chaps parents are up to stay with them so we were going out for dinner in town. They live within walking distance of town so I drove in and met them there. I’ve chatted on FaceTime but never met them so we all had a very nice meal. And puppy came too but he just slept all evening! Nice to give my girl a huge big hug and a well done that exams are over.Bought her flowers on the way and met friends son and his girlfriend so had a quick chat with them . I’m his ‘auntie’ so was nice to see them.
Getting some work done in the house soon and all I had to do was get some things for it …only taken me months ( had big jobs of new fencing and decorating to pay for earlier in the year) but want this done before autumn so finally got my backside in gear and ordered stuff that was being made especially for me. So that’s all arrived ( last piece fortuitously as I got in mid morning from work to see to doggy yesterday…and wasn’t left out in the rain! ) and I sent builder chap a text so he’s free in a couple of weeks. So that’s good! Will text him back in the morning as i don’t like to message late at night.Driving home and it was the most stunning sunset. Just beautiful. And home and the solar lights were all a-twinkle…I’m usually in bed before they come on.8 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to the launderette this morning to use the tumble dryer. Had a cup of tea while I was waiting and looked in the charity shop.
3) Cleaned my car out and remembered to find the umbrella from the boot and give it a wipe down.
4) My brother came up with his chainsaw to move some trees that had fallen between the bottom of my garden and the septic tank.
5) Went to the Job Centre at 1 to help someone there and the JC man was extremely helpful (and Italian). Managed to sort my guy a new username and password so he can log in now.
6) Had a cup of tea in Sainsburys cafe and did some Arabic.
7) Took 2 guys to their football game in Malvern. One scored and the other might have done. It is impossible to tell even though I was videoing it at the time! So that was all very exciting.
8) Smaller son went to watch his team play football, with his friend.
The evening then became complicated as I needed to get bigger son from carpet town and drop the 2 guys off simultaneously. However, the guys in my car had secretly ordered me a pizza, as we had been on the go for about 5 hours. Well, this was all great, and this evening almost reminded me what it would be like to lead a normal life, but it meant smaller son standing and waiting for me.
Suffice to say, I collected smaller son, pulled the car over, had a slice of pizza and watched as smaller son grabbed the box and smashed the pizza to smithereens into the door panel of my car.
For once, I can't be bothered to try and find out what was wrong but have come in and gone to bed.9 -
Hello again.
Still grey and damp but so glad we don't have 'the heatwave'.
Not a lot happening here so some smallish pleasures:
1) An annoying but not serious health problem flared up again, managed to get a same day appointment and necessary meds but am being referred to a dermatologist to see if we can fettle it once and for all. All credit to our GP practice as we never have to wait for appointments and they are beyond helpful and very thorough.
2) Feel a bit meh on these tablets so an easy couple of days doing not very much.
3) Have ordered blinds and curtains for my summerhouse as it faces south and when (!) the sun is out can get very warm indeed. Then it is completely finished, quite a little sanctuary where I can 'play' to my heart's content.
4) Easy meals from the freezers, just adding veg, salad and fruit.
5) I don't have to go anywhere or do anything urgently so will just sit it out and wait to feel better.
Hope you enjoy your day.10 -
