Good morning! About to go out and get a bit soggy with a doggy. Very dull and raining this morning.
A very early start to the day yesterday morning with a doggy needing out, still dark, bit wet!Didn’t bother going back upstairs so grabbed a blanket and lay on sofa. Then up for a quick walk. In the rain.Out to skinny club, weighed and ran.Home briefly then picked up by DD2 and The Chap and the Pup. Out for brunch. Then a walk along the beach.
Home. Went and had a snooze. Then popped over to friends about 5.30pm and then had to pick up some birthday presents. Dropped one off at other friends, sat and had a birthday blether, then home. Hello doggy.6 -
Good morning. More rain. After a week of doing the hokey cokey with the washing, I'm now not even attempting to put it out. But we don't have a tumble dryer so that's tricky.
Ampersand - I hope your biopsy results are good. We,too, have met such kindness and thoroughness. DG indeed.
Expected a nothing sort of day yesterday but then DDiL rang. Could she come round for a cuppa with DGD (3) while DGD (14 going on 24) had her nails done. So that was a lovely treat. Then when older DGD appeared she told us all about her school trip next year to New York!! My only school trip was an afternoon at Pateley Bridge!
We went back to normal after they'd gone home and just chilled and chatted for the rest of the day. I got on with my crochet. I think I could set a world record as slowest crocheter, mainly because I rarely get on with it.
This morning we're meeting DD and fiance for breakfast as ever was. A sort of last supper before DH begins his pre op fasting.
Happy rainy day everyone

Hope all goes well on Tuesday Ampersand.
For yesterday,
Waking up in my own bed, after years of sleeping under sheets & blankets I always struggle with the all or nothing of duvets.
Over to see my horse, hello have you missed me? Several days of no grooming needed to be rectified then we had a little walk before the rain started followed by tack cleaning, nothing much of note happening on TMS so found a podcast to listen to.
Dropped into village shop on way home for a few bits of fresh veg etc and somehow cinnamon buns jumped into my basket as well!
As per &’s picture the afternoon rain was relentless so not much done outside, bit of action from OT and nice to see Mr Root have a successful bowl.
Lazy evening, caught up on a bit of recorded tv including Only Connect then a few games of Yahtzee.7 -

So easyjet even less helpful than Ryanair so again have had to buy another ticket!!! have got confirmation that the uni will pay (the person who booked is on annual leave and of course the confirmation will be in her inbox and they will only speak to the person who booked). so with no more energy wasted on that grrrrrrrr (and lesson to self be very careful of 3rd party bookings!)
for Friday
1) waterbus (well 2, we had to change at Ridderkerk) to kinderdijk to see the windmills
2) kinderdijk was fabulous - started with lunch - very nice brie and walnut salad on dark bread - then
3) a lovely boat trip - cruiser - which goes all the way up the middelkade then back again - we saw most of the 19 windmills
4) then walked to the first museum one (museummolen) then onto the 2nd museum one and the floating exhibition then back by the hopper for the r exhibits - had good fun in the pumping station
5) and back by the 2 waterbusses, pizza, more silly midsomer then zzzzz
For Saturday
1) a Dordrecht day - started with the cat cafe - so many cats!
2) museum of art
3) yummy apple cake at a lovely cafe I discovered last visit
4) home for poke bowls yum yum
5) then more silly midsomer then zzzzz (detect a theme?)
and today
1) visited the grotekirk
2) walked up the tower (275 steps) and of course back down again which Michael Mosely tells us is better for our health than the walk up! very good views
3) then lunch at Rebel Rebel - guess what the theme of the cafe was! and the bridge went up to let a boat through (I am easily pleased!)
4) back for a much needed cuppa and I'm all packed for tomorrow

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Rather a broken sleep, but I've had worse.
2) Cleaned the cooker, the microwave, around generally this morning.
3) The fruit and veg box arrived with some nice choices in it.
4) Went to a local pub for my sister's birthday lunch.
5) Went to Sainsburys for a cup of tea and to do some Arabic.
6) Made a venison stew (still emptying the freezer!)
7) My brother will come up later to look for meteorites, if the skies are clear.
8) 3 nights left in this house. Hopefully, exchange of contracts tomorrow...7 -
Hello again.
Goodness, it has rained - again - every bit of this day. No worries about watering the garden, that's for sure!
Today's pleasures:
1) Went to collect our rings which have been cleaned up and re-rhodiumed (re-plated didn't sound right but essentially that's what it is I suppose). Anyway they are all sparkly and just like new again.
2) Brother and his wife's Ruby Wedding anniversary, I remember their wedding very well, a lot sunnier than today. They have had some rubies set into their original platinum wedding rings and they look fab - three individual round ones in sister-in-law's and a narrow band of five square ones in brother's, just perfect.
3) Been sending my sister our photos of 'the wedding' - the official photos are lovely but the informal ones tell a story of the day too. Hubby was the only one who had the forethought to video the first dance so sis and the bride are over the moon with that.
4) Made the scrumptious caramel ice cream, now safely tucked away in the freezer and a batch of tablet, a fair bit of which has been enjoyed this evening - ooops! Also finalised my lunch party menu, not til mid-August but I can start some prep a bit at a time as we will be busy with the school holidays and getting the house and garden into some sort of order. Will try and get the orange and walnut flapjacks made tomorrow and into the freezer, they can have those with coffee when they arrive.
5) Very taken with the new Velux windows in the kitchen extension, when it rains the sensor automatically closes them and won't let you open them til the rain stops. Very sensible!
Hope the rain is over and done with before next weekend when we are taking little fella away to explore castles and to watch jousting tournaments. Fingers crossed!
Frith - Have everything crossed for you re contracts. We have exchanged and completed on the same day before now so you have plenty of time, and it is in everyone's best interests for it to be done and dusted. In fact, thinking about it, we moved out of our last house the day before we exchanged and completed. Waved off our removal van and then stayed in a hotel that night so we were around to hand over keys, etc. the following lunchtime. Furniture sat in two lorries overnight to either come here or go back there! !t's a bit like childbirth in that you forget the worst of the pain as soon as it's over!

Sounds like a lovely trip DD despite the travel shenanigans.
For yesterday,
Woken early by small dog desperate for a wee, decent morning weather wise.
Breakfast, Archers then out to the garden, lots of dead heading and tsking over the rambling rose, think it will need a hard cut back in autumn.
Cottage pie dug out from freezer and we had that for lunch. All day we kept an eye on the weather news from Manchester and in the end the ashes were retained with a handshake, shame.
Lovely evening so walk then sat in the garden for a bit to soak up the last of the sun, hummingbird moth on the buddleia along with several, very large bumbles.8 -
Oh, look Monday!
Yous never nose watt is at the bottom, of the freezer!
Auto closing windas? My, how technology tales over!Your version of the life of The Admiral!

Has the usaul snorker and best back for brakefest on Sundae, as wes are feasting on the Saturday.
Fixing the cemented on cistern in the en suit. Will be fixed soon!
Has the proper dinner yesterday. Apparently on unsocial media, this is now called a retro meal? Salmon steamed inn the kettle, with minted new tates and fresh leaks. Served with homemaid fresh parsley sauce. Then finished off with sum of the spotted Richard with fresh lump custard!
On with the Only Murders in the Building, getting ready for the new series. Fruit waters and cocoa were taken. That is proper cocoa from BurnVilla, not that foamed version full off sugars, that are bad four you!
Has the quack bucked for next Monday for balls, bloods and the drips! Will hurt him moor then it hurst me. See notes from the Admiral passim!
