5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

Getting back to this, and MSE as lifestyle creep has taken over in a scary way and we need to get back to basics!
My pleasures for yesterday
1) making homemade apple and pecan cake with 3yo. I got ChatGPT to write me a recipe based on what I had in
2) yummy picnic lunch. We had £140 rewards vouchers from work so went mad at t3sco over the weekend on top of the delivered shop. I'm feeling unwell so the cremant de Loire is untouched but we feasted!
3) the garden is doing well, enjoying the growth of our raised beds
4) blackberries are coming, 3yo very excited and 18mo can join in this year too
5) I am unwell at the moment - only a cold or virus but cannot function at work - so grateful for my various subscriptions and bingeing silly shows like And Just Like That to pass the time with lots of tea.

MandM90 - warm welcome back again and recover soon. Tea is good. Agree re: blackberry crop this year. Heavy, early flowering everywhere around here.
1. Npd and nsd today amid mucky mix of weather.
2. Lime and lemon marmalade done.
3. Tomatoes tied, laterals nipped out, grapes and figs are prolific and fattening, blueberries continue and courgettes are flowering well, at last.
4. Richard Coles' 'Bringing in the Sheaves' is so good. He easily tells much against himself and a meeting with another & fave, Horatio Clare, is intriguing. Both have followed rocky roads through life variously - music, booze, breakdowns, drugs, broadcasting, faith journeys and all kinds of loss, plus much else to where they are now.
5. More wonderful Open Studios visits over the weekend. Returned to some in a village hall, then an old police station yesterday after service. Could+would have spent several £thousands very readily. Another watercolour, some bookmarks and a small oil on oak board, with silver and gold leaf highlights, are now &'s. Although the latter is Tuscany, it sits perfectly with the Sénanques Abbey one obtained last week. Love RC and HC both. L'Abbaye Notre Dame de Sénanque is in RCs' book, too - he stumbled in there.

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) And were the contracts exchanged today, 4 days late? No, no they were not... 2 days to go.
3) Lost 1lb.
4) Phoned BT and my phone/broadband will be cut off on the 31st.
5) Went to M and S briefly to do some Arabic then met my sister and little niece in Costa! My niece was being very truthful today including, "Mummy went far too fast over a speed bump and it made a noise on the bottom of the car!"
6) Did not go to English lesson as my concentration this week is down to about 3 seconds. Had some nice messages wishing me good luck.
7) Continued eating food to empty the fridge freezer. Made a butternut squash pie.
8) Booked in the removal company. I will lose my deposit to them if the solicitors don't actually do something tomorrow. Tempted to sit outside my solicitor's office but it is in Gloucester.
9) Went with my brother on a works survey to Hailes Abbey. This included him walking along a culvert with me shouting "Yoo hoo" every so often so he knew where he was. It runs for about 100 metres. Forgot my phone so practised my writing in the car.9 -
Good morning. Nice and bright here.
Fingers crossed day
Ampersand - hope all goes smoothly
Frith - hope no more hiccups ( I'm sure that should be hiccoughs but autocorrect doesn't like it!)
Yesterday went well for DH ( and so for me too!)
He started off at the end of the list but was moved up to 2nd because the original 2nd person's x-ray wasn't there in time.
Op went well and after a too high/ too low blood pressure wobble he was discharged at about 6:30.
Once again staff, in whatever capacity, were efficient yet still friendly. They manage to make the experience much more pleasant than it could be.
So today is going to be very quiet here!
Happy Tuesday everyone7 -
Onwards and upwards Mhags
Eeek, keeping everything crossed Frith
For yesterday,
Into horsey town for food shop, have been fancying salmon but eye-wateringly expensive at the moment however I did find some rtc Scottish trout instead.
Home, tackled Mount Ironmore and did some admin.
Over to see pony, had intended to ride before farrier visit but Missy had several nasty bites on her face one of which would sit under bridle and rub so out come good old Hibiscrub to clean them up before applying Sudocrem. Lovely farrier turned up just as the rain stopped and she got new shoes in front and trimmed behind, good hoof growth under shoes so right decision. Good chat with my pal.
Driving home and listening to Ella.
Trout was tasty, foil baked with just lemon juice and fresh fennel fronds. Then Uni Challenge, still get used to new format and presenter.

Hello. Currently lashing with rain!Up early.Chat to sister.
Nipped into town to go to bank. Popped into charity shops but absolutely nothing! Either I’m more discerning or there’s not as much! Though to be fair I don’t need anything but still like a mooch!Back up the road and grabbed a doggy and off we went in car to local castle.Supermarket on way home.Just in and dog vomited big style. Sigh! Once on rug ( poor thing was trying to get to back door) then all over patio…thank heavens for kitchen rolls and garden hoses!Friend was over for tea , she’s been on holiday so it was nice to be back to normal! They brought me beautiful orange roses and a big bag of rhubarb. I gave them some courgettes! Doggy was happy to see his peoples!Tea was sausages, new potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, peas and sprouts ( real food PP) with some fruit for pud.Mostly dry, we just hit the rain as we were leaving castle ( me….my washing ! However it wasn’t as heavy here as it was there) but have worn a jumper all day!8 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) I packed all the kitchen stuff, defrosted the fridge freezer, did 2 loads of washing and waited to hear if the contracts had been exchanged...
3) The air source heat pump man arrived and serviced that and checked the radiators. More waiting...
4) Everything packed away so I went to the butchers for turkey rolls for our lunch. Still no contracts exchanged...
5) Split a couple of plants in the garden to take with us.
6) 2.30pm. 5 days late, contracts were finally exchanged! Moving tomorrow.
7) Went to the launderette as I hadn't time to mess around trying to get the washing dry. Also popped in to the charity shop, had a cup of tea in the tea rooms and did some Arabic,
8) Changed my address with the bank.
9) Smaller son and I went to the football. A draw today.
10) Bigger son came round while we were out and dismantled our clothes rail thingy and disconnected the washing machine.8 -
