Will keep everything crossed that the little one will be home with you soon PK.
For yesterday,
Early morning trip into horsey town for a food shop, no coffee as needed to get my skates on.
Over to the yard where the beautiful grey one was having a visit from the physio, just a routine appointment where he loosened up a few tight spots, can’t remember the last time I had a massage etc but most equestrians throw all the TLC at their horses and hobble around themselves!
My girlie was really happy & relaxed afterwards and quickly dozed off in her stable, left her to it and work will be resumed today.
More appointments, this time small dog for her second check up after op, everything continues to heal well and lovely vet is very pleased, phew!
Quick tea of pizza and HM coleslaw, caught up with last week’s GW, which reminds me that I have a tiny green shoot from just one of the tomato seedlings, think I might need to buy some plants if we want anything in the way of a crop this year.

The day started wet but has brightened up beautifully.
Woke early with an oooft! The plan was to get up and go to the beach first thing but nah..dealt with dog then back to bed.Went to B and q and bought a garden storage box thing ( to put cushions etc in) it was full of rain water so I left rather a big puddle at the till. I had a £10,00 off voucher and paid for half of it with my tips. Still need to build it.Home and got my doggy and off to the beach we went. Oh we had such a lovely walk. Tide was so far out, a wee bit breezy but bright. FaceTimed DD1 as we walked. Then met up with niece and great nephew for about half an hour. Nice to see them. Very quick FT with DD1 and great nephew.Stopped at garden centre on way back. Did a quick walk round the grassy bit of carpark with doggy.Had sausages for my tea. Quickly cooked in the airfryer .
it’s now a lovely evening Might ( might not 😆) look at building box.
edited to say I have attempted to build said box…I’ve walked away from it before I throw it over the fence! Blooming flat pack click clack ! Grrrr. Listening to the blackbirds instead. That’s more calming before bedtime 😆9 -
Evening all. Just had a heavy rain shower with the sun still out, so lovely rainbow 🌈. The promised storms passed us by yesterday and we have had quite a lot of warm sunshine 🌞
so for this week: we enjoyed watching the Coronation. Did some gardening on Sunday, mostly tidying pots and baskets and OH managed to hobble enough to cut the grass. Cooked a delicious leg of lamb studded with lots of garlic and rosemary with lots of roasted potatoes, sweet potatoes and parsnips cooked in the lamb pan 😋
On Monday we cut OHs mum’s grass and I did some bramble and weed clearing , lots more to do. I got a very vicious rash from the nettles. Repeat roast lamb for dinner. On Tuesday we went swimming, OHs first time since ankle op. Met friend for steak lunch in Wetherspoons. Today we took OHs mum to cinema to see The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, which we all enjoyed. She then treated us to dinner at our local. I’ve given up trying to lose weight before our Greek island holiday, too much nice food 🤣
Have a good evening everyone 😊9 -
1. Yesterdays complaint to Royal Mail meant 6 missing packages arrived today. The hour phone call (including wait time) wasn’t wasted

4. 3 lots of washing hung outside and last load is nearly dry
5. Changed the bedding, love fresh sheets
6. Planted my new rose in the garden

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Unbidden text messages from bigger son !
3) Went into town and finally remembered to take my Arabic text book. It actually helped clear up a few things I couldn't understand.
4) Went to the doctors to sign up for the thing where you can see test results on the app. I've been meaning to do that for ages so I can (hopefully) watch my iron levels rise.
5) Smaller son wanted to go to Sainsburys, so we did. He is about to take the last of his antibiotics and he says everything is going back to normal.
6) Had a random email from the cinema asking for my help with fundraising. I had mentioned to Mr E that I had applied for grant aid a few times in my old job. I did jot down some potential charities and sources of funding the other week so I just need to find the bit of paper.
7) Then, exciting times! First, our football team put on social media that it was nearly time to get in the virtual queue for tickets to the final on Sunday. The picture they used showed smaller son in the crowd, towering over everyone else, arms waving and with a swollen face!
We both logged on at 5.30 as we are both season ticket holders. (Only 700 tickets available and only for season ticket holders and there are more than 1000 of us). Anyway, everything was sold out after 20 minutes and we BOTH HAVE A TICKET! Just need to sort the coach out tomorrow.
8) Went to chess in the evening which was interesting...
A horrible multiple car accident in front of me on the way home, with numerous fire engines, police cars and ambulances. They were overtaking me on my journey. I had to do a turn in the road, hoping more emergency vehicles didn't crash into the side of me while I was across the road. I hope everyone involved is OK. I went along the back lanes once I had turned round.9 -
1. It amuses & that on &'s phone, this page stops at 'Government announces new fraud'..... Not untrue.
2. Lots of creeper weeding and general garden sorting. Loads more needed and it's still no-mow. Not possible yet. All the unwanteds have gone mad, but 2 azaleas, thought long lost, are in bloom, as are blueberries.
3. Enjoyed an IPL commentator saying 'Ooh, I can announce my favourite score. Chennai are now 123 for 5!'
4. Picked and cooked this year's first rhubarb. Somebody's been munching holes in the leaves. May oxalic acid poisoning from said leaves do its thing.
5. At last, an NZ saga is over, after nearly a year.

For yesterday,
Early morning sunshine through the beech trees.
At the yard, lovely friend tried to show me how to do a running plait with girlie’s mane, hmm think I will need to practice! Lunged my pony and she was very woohoo but as always when I got onboard she was calm and listening to me, am aware how lucky I am.
Home and a parcel of secondhand books had arrived, after so many recommendations I am finally going to start on the first of the LP / Gamache books. The pile of tbr next to the bed is once again reassuringly high.
Downloaded WH and listened to the highly entertaining interview with author Malorie Blackman, well worth a listen.
Stretched the last of the weekend pork to a stir fry for tea, Capt S had a cheeky glass of wine with his as poor thing is going through his audit.

Even up here on The Gallops, post just disappeared, but will try again. Hadn't written much, but annoying is annoying, however it happens. It's another strange day of changeable weather.
1. Astounded to see a chap unicycle past in full Boys on Bikes lycra after midweek Communion. This is a little middle of nowhere Fens village. He was way gone before & found phone to take a pic. Can't imagine how he'd dared do 12 miles from Town of Gown.
2. The relief re: NZ saga being over continues.
3. These made me chuckle in emporium.earlier, especially front one.
4. Again emporium - oldest Northern hemisphere Uni friend was leaving as & was entering and rain starting. Back to Ms Fzy Doblo, & extracted an appalling brand new CS teatowel, bought for her. We both gaped, & aghast all over again. Supposedly Irish humour on beautiful 100% Irish linen, 'Made in Ireland', BUT printed with 50 'Irish' joke definitions, all off-the-scale politically incorrect! Friend loves and visits Ireland and is wondering how+where the item can live chez elle.
5. Very pleased with £5 CS spend today. Several bits, including a perfect 1922 Shelley jelly mould, a BCBG maxazria silk square, very 70s - & knows what Bon Chic Beau Genre means - and this old upholstery braid.

It's now pouring up here.
