1 Prepping the house for a hopeful new animal, which means, mopping literally everywhere and flea treating as I have no doubt while he’s been treated for them, he may have extra visitors. So, I have flea treated the house after it was mopped up, hand cleaned the stairs and hallway, then mopped the lounge. Also washed and treated their bedding, just don’t tell them.
2 A grilled bacon sarnie for lunch, Chicken wraps and brown rice, build your own.
3 Portioned up food from the fridge to the freezer, there’s even cake being frozen, but I have plans to take it with us camping.
4 I haven’t been able to get into reading recently, but I found the book to get me back in, it’s a factual book about graveyards!
5 I went to put on some nail polish, first bottle dried up, second bottle was apparently not nail polish, turned out to be some sort of dry oil suitable for face, body and hair!!

oh that's funny highdays at least the other car driver must have then believed you. I remember when i was a student a group of us went hostelling. the president and his gf had driven down while the rest of us went by train. Walking to the hostel we saw his mini so we decided to carry it over to the other side of the road. Cept it wasn't his mini - the owner let us know in no uncertain terms when he opened his bedroom window and bellowed at us. oops. For today
1) day was cold but dry - made some lunch and walked in
2) had forgotten there was a free lunch at the FaME awards ceremony - sat next to a lovely colleague and made some plans for some teaching
3) lots of food left so took a tray of pastries to the post-grad office - they're tucked away and get forgotten - they were very happy (and the pastries were very delicious)
4) FaME stands for faculty of medical educators but reminds me of course of Bowie so, finding myself alone in the deanery, I put it on loudthen listened to quite a bit of Bowie ending with 2.5 hours of a 2002 concert in Montreal and may have eaten some more cake
5) walked home listening to my first audible (99p for first 3 months so took out sub last month, May 24th I get another credit)
which means another NSD hoorayMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

For yesterday,
Changed the bed and tidied through.
Off to the yard to see my girlie, by the time I got there it was absolutely piddling down so nothing to do but pamper & clean tack.
Such a cold & grey day, made a ginger loaf just to warm the kitchen up.
I am enjoying my first Louise Penny book immensely so the chance to lay on the sofa and read for most of the afternoon was very welcome.
Baked pasta and garlic bread for tea, wine as well ☺️9 -

Hello.Up early. Stunning sunrise.Off to beach…hurrah thought I. Gorgeous drive down through countryside, singing along to the radio, looking forward to our walk when bam out of nowhere. Thick, thick fog. Couldn’t see beach. Couldn’t see carpark. Couldn’t see sea. Just horrible and eerie. And senses just heightened. Anyway walked as far as we could walk and then back again. Doggy not getting off lead. Which is a shame. Anyway back to car, back through fog then back through beautiful countryside! All sunny and bright on the other side of this bizarre fog!DD2 picked me up and off we went to the garden centre. Beautiful drive and then bam! Thick fog!Bought a lovely long bench cushion for my bench that will store cushions ( need to go out soon and put them away as rain forecast tomorrow) this was a something special for me from me with my bonus from working night shift last weekend. Also bought some lettuce seedlings that I need to go and plant tonight. Then DD2 drove me to pick up a long console table. It was supposed to be for sale for cash but it turns out she was a friend of a friend and wouldn’t take cash from me…I did try hard to insist! So that was rather nice, she was just glad to make the space from it going. It’s to go in one of the newly refurbished bedrooms.Home and washing hung out.Bargained with myself…hoover downstairs then go out in the garden to read. Was rather glorious again this afternoon. Even…wait for it…put shorts on! That’s how glorious it was! Then it got too warm for me so I came in to read. May have dozed. Started a new book as finished the one I started yesterday very late last night, wanted to see who dunnit!9

Ooft, what a busy few days...
Frith - how tragic.
Pleasures since Tuesday
1. House is now clean - properly clean for the first time in ages. Although every room needs 'bottoming out' really
2. Great trip to London to see the Lehman Trilogy. Absolutely fabulous (and funny) play
3. Stayed in Easy Hotel Milton Keynes to save a loooong journey home. It did the job but wouldn't want to do it too often.
4. Rain stopped my friend and i from having a walk, but we managed a cuppa and a natter in the cafe.
5. OH came back from his holiday with his mate. He'd had a good time despite the weather
6. Eurovision semi final
7. Chester races yesterday. A fab day out and we only 'lost' £15 on bets cos we won £55 over two races. Nice to be with friends and one, who'd won £185, bought the drinks in the pub after.
And today
1. 2 loads of washing on the line as it's finally stopped raining
2. walked to the cinema and back in the sunshine
3. Watched Guardians of the Galaxy 3, enjoyed it. It had a talking dog!
4. OH and I are having left over curries for tea (from the freezer). DS and DD are having Dominos Pizza
5. looking forward to Eurovision
Enjoy your evening.I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Off to Park Run early. We had sort of messed up the numbers of passengers and drivers so I just had one chap in my car! I had not met him before. Had a few good chats then played lots of table tennis. We (well, the chaps) are going to be interviewed by BBC radio next Saturday!
3) As I got home, I remembered that there was a plant sale and coffee morning in the village hall so I had a cup of tea there and spoke to the owner of my allotment and a woman who went to school with me.
4) Got various jobs done and 2 loads of washing are very nearly dry on the line and thrown over the fence, air source heat pump etc. There isn't enough line.
5) Went to M and S and did some Arabic. Saw my friend going for a run as I drove home.
6) Had a lie down and listened to a podcast.
7) The toilet has broken, which isn't a pleasure as I can't mend it. We only have one so not sure what to do about that. Besides that, everything is neat and tidy and ready for us to go to the NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH FINAL TOMORROW!
8) Might watch some Eurovision later but might go for a walk, as I am in a strange mood.8 -
1-5 He’s here, bless him, he is intrinsically lovely, but terrified as well. DH moved his arm while talking and he flinched and cried! He’ll get there I think it may be a little slower than we thought but it’s the first few hours and very overwhelming, house noises etc. He’s met all 3 girls and they are fine; the old boy will be fine and the other 2, they need reassurance. He has however checked things out very curious, moved toys around and is being very verbal about it all. I found him in the vicinity of the other ferrets but moved him off to his own hammock just to make sure he gets some proper rest tonight.
We ordered in, which was unplanned but before we knew it, it was somewhat late.
Watching a bit of Eurovision....

a sunny day!
1) collected my library book and went to town for a podiatrist appointment
2) after lunch mum and I called on our friends renting her house - he's mending slowly (broken femur) - we had a good giggle
3) mum picked some rhubarb and cut some lilac which she put in her backpack and we walked home - when we got home we realised the lilac had all fallen out so i walked the boys up to retrace our steps - all lilac now in a jug downstairs
4) off to watch the footie - Dr M sent apologies, he'd forgotten his niece was getting married 🤣 - everyone else was supporting Sunderland
5) back for supper then of course Eurovision - I liked Estonia, Cyprus and Poland bestMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Been rather absent but need to try and find pleasures each day
1. Doggy cuddles
2. Ds2 getting more down waiting for surgery for his broken femur, been told will be nearer end of June. Will be trying to go away for a few days near his birthday, need somewhere that’s on ground floor and suitable for disabled to shower.
3. Ready meals for dinner.
4. Ds2 apologised for shouting at me.
5. Had a talk with Ds2, telling him I understand how he feels but he can’t take it out on me, pleasure is I think I got through.8
