Oooft!I was in at work for 4.30am yesterday for 5 hours then back in again at 8pm for 9.5 hours. I need never see a scone again…well until I’m back at work tomorrow 😆
What you have to do to get a day off work…work the night before.Doggy and I were up before the birds yesterday morning , was so peaceful. saw the gentlest of sunrises.Last night was so starry and the most stunning moon over the woodlands.
watched the ceremony. Enjoyed a cake from work and picked some deep pink ranunculus and
muscari and a little white flower as my nod to red, white and blue! Was just a tip of a head kind of nod!Missed my mum as we would probably have watched it together.Dozed and read yesterdayI’ve had a mini snooze this morning. Will no doubt crash later. Reading a nice book so want to finish that and will get up properly.6 -
My mum would have loved it too Mhags... I used to watch such things with her, instead, I
1. went to Aldi at 11.00 in the hope it would be quiet - it was but not as much as i was expecting
2. came back and whisked through the footage of the procession, some singing and some blabbing. Watched Charlie get his hat and Camilla get hers, then just let it run in the background while i did chores
3. did a chunk of marking - 10 left
4. my girl came round and we had a takeaway curry with DS too (OH is away)
5. then we watched a film.
Have a nice day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
Good afternoon. Oh my! It's glorious here. Warm and sunny. Can't quite believe it!I
On Friday DH went for his covid jab (5th). My doctors haven't been in touch but they offered to do mine whilst I was there, if I was old enough. I am! Sorted. And just a sore arm for a day as side effects.
Had a chilled day yesterday. DH watched the ceremony in the morning and I bitted and bobbed, watching it in between sewing, ironing etc. I do remember the last one, and really wish I'd kept my little golden coach and horses that stood on the mantelpiece for years. No idea where that went but I've still got a coronation toffee tin that I keep receipts in.
Met DD and fiance for breakfast this morning. Not done that for a while. We took our engagement present to give them - a big garden candle holder. But they'd cycled there! So we had to go back via their house to drop it off. First calling in at DS house to collect my hoodie I'd forgotten last week. So I've seen everyone today. Always a good thing.
More gardening this afternoon but now I've left that and about to make a cake, do oven veg and think what else can go in the oven whilst it's on! Biscuits maybe?
Happy 🌞day everyone

Hello.
Gorgeous warm and sunny day today, very different to yesterday.
Pleasures:
1) Watched the madness and majesty of history being made yesterday. Another who missed being able to dissect it all with my mum, we'd have had a whale of a time!
2) Our heir to the throne chose his wife well, thought Catherine, Princess of Wales looked stunning, regal and beautiful. And gorgeous children.
3) To a plant fair at our favourite gardens today, was busy but we managed to get to see the bluebells again in the sunshine.
4) Brother and SIL had to queue for four hours to get into the Windsor Castle grounds for the concert tonight but they finally made it and at least it's not raining. They have promised to wave if they see a TV camera so if you see a middle-aged couple madly waving at the concert tonight they might belong to me.
5) Was watering my herb planter and son's partner came out for a chat and to see if I fancied a glass of wine. Felt like summer
sitting in the early evening sunshine.
And another Bank Holiday tomorrow to enjoy.9 -
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep, though a bit short as we had to get up not long after 6am...
2) Coach ride to and from Kings Lynn went smoothly. About 3.5 hours each way. I quite liked the look of KL (we didn't have time to look round) but we were relieved to get back to hills again.
3) The match! 800 of our fans went. It was 1-1 in the first half. By the end, we won 4-1! We are now in the National League North final. If we win that, we will go up to the National League...
4) Smaller son is on the mend. We took all the painkillers and antibiotics with us. I shall say vaguely that matters are "coming to a head", which must be a good sign.
5) My brother just popped in so I cooked some shortbread.
6) In bed now and will watch Casualty.8 -
For yesterday,
Early morning cuddles with small dog,
The clouds rolled away leaving a warm, sunny day, time spent pottering in the garden and checking on my seedlings, carrots and beetroot going great guns, tomatoes not so but potatoes are starting to show through.
In at midday as final day of the season for Utd, we had to win and two other teams do no better than draw, we scored two goals in first half and then it was nail biting time until final whistle but we survived, mostly due to very stoical defending by Burton, phew!
Roast pork for dinner with plenty of leftovers to stretch into the week.
Evening walk with beloved & small dog, looking up through the branches of my favourite beech tree and seeing just a few glimpses of blue sky.

Art'noon, taking a break from (finally) doing some cleaning
Pleasures for yesterday
1. a walk with friend and little dog. At the bird reserve in the sunshine.
2. and a coffee - also in the sunshine
3. Still wading through marking - 4 left as of this morning (now NONE 🥳 - for a week or so)
4. gin and tonic and a glass of wine with my steak tea
5. turning off the coronation concert and watching a murder programme 🤣🤔
Enjoy the rest of the bank holiday.I wanna be in the room where it happens7 -
Worky work day number uno is done! The working week is over. Hurrah! What a day! Oooft! My second busiest day ever. Grrrr…6 more orders and it would have been the busiest ever. My title was claimed a few weeks ago and I want it back! And to get so near yet so far is frustrating 😆
It has lashed with rain all day until about half an hour ago. Good for the garden.Tips were okay. I’ve seen the plant I want to buy with them.Got chips for tea and DD2 was home to dog sit as she was off work today. Dog would be fine but she misses him.
Think it will be an early night tonight.9 -
Hello again - cold and wet again today, what happened to Spring.
It seems very quiet here, is everyone doing exciting things??
Today's pleasures:
1) Hopefully now we are done with all things Coronation and can get back to normal ... whatever 'normal' is!
2) We have sold a no-longer-wanted leather sofa and chair totally by chance to a friend of one of our neighbours and he's already been and collected it. Result!
3) Neighbour came to have a look at all the building work. Apart from a heap of sand on the drive (hidden by the gates so not altogether visible anyway) you wouldn't know from the front exactly what is going on at the back where it is a completely different story as most of the back of the house has now gone and there is a big space where the new roof will go. The builders put more steels in on Saturday and there are virtually no walls left in place in the 'big house' as it is being competely reconfigured. Don't know if said neighbour was very impressed or totally horrified - he was pretty taken aback and speechless for a mo!
4) A very nothingy sort of day, didn't go out as it's been so miserable. Hubby took himself off into his workshop and I have been reading, faffing and totally chilling. Need a day like this every now and then to recharge the old batteries.
5) A busy rest of the week on the cards but all nice things and we are moving forward with some longer-term plans.
Enjoy your evening.

1. With you on your osp 4, Highdays. It's been a very acceptable nothing-y sort of day, reading for lots of it - 'Espresso Tales', another Alexander McCall Smith.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Espresso_Tales
2. Big, big yesterday and early start, with over 100 at Coronation Celebration service and more elsewhere, later in afternoon. Unexpected attendance needed service team of more than the usual 2, & being ½ of it. All still happened and others pitched in.
3. Loved the whole of Saturday and went out for connectivity, 10-17h. It's a marmite thing, clearly.
4. Vile weather throughout was exactly Coronation weather as remembered by &, on other side of world in Aotearoa winter, 1952. Late and beloved Uncle took & to Wellington Opera House to see it all as cinema, the film having been flown promptly back by the RNZAF, especially as Sir Edmund Hillary had done his thing on Everest. We know now that the dates were 'slightly adjusted', but it mattered not, then or now. We played Coronations for a long time after.
5. Ooh, just heard R4 trailer - one of &'s most favely, unmistakable voices, mellifluous, glorious writer and so much besides - Horatio Clare. Will be listening to him. In matters similar yet not remotely :-) have booked for local G&S in 'The Barn' and am checking all the full-sized Spookymen's Chorale August Tour dates and venues. These are what OAP £s should be for.

Frith, that was a fantastic result for your round ball team over here in East Anglia! We have a number of Peahens playing in Eastern Counties' team vs Hertfordshire, ballon ovale, on Saturday.
Happy evenings to all, as something-y or nothing-y as you want.

Surprised that the Admiral hasn't posted for quite a time, especially recently. We cross swords in most ways, but best wishes if you're simply lurking.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
