1. Doblo's baptismal load. & has responded to desperate last-minute call for ambient goods pick-up, store o/n and offload somewhere new early tmrw.
2. More ruggers! & did scoreboard for Colts' Salver match and Yes! 25-10, after being down 10-0 at ½-time and playing entire 2nd half with 14, after opponent connected fist on our tall line-out lad, who swung round to see who'd done it - and was given a straight red! Another very, VERY wrong decision from Sir, seen by all supporters on both sides, about which authorities have already written to the RFU and relevant refereeing body. Not good enough - and too many low-level refs are being let loose 'to practise/gain experience' for critical games in community Clubs. More RFU mismanagement and poor decision-making. Nonetheless, the lads won through and the season's presentations post-match lifted all spirits.
3. Then away in time for Choral Evensong. Just so right and still in natural light, stained glass reflections beautiful on the whole congregation.
4. Oh, the joys of Reach Fair, going since 1201, all the usual, except for the much-loved old-style helter-skelter, missing this year, sadly. The long mile or two - no vehicles allowed - walking and wandering along to reach Reach. Sitting on haystacks. Great amateur rockabilly music, dancing and joining in. The usual Morris dancers too, of course. Rainwear needed as usual - sometimes on, sometimes off, finally more sunny than rainy. Because the entire day has such a good alternative/shades of &'s 60s and hippy-dippy elements and much feel-good fundraising and happy stalls, simple entertainment, & had many wildflowers and feathers in her hair all day:-) Only 12 No More Books this year from the old Chapel:-) - and a lovely cream tea, same place, only £2.50. Some fabulous bits from the woodturners; honey and beeswax things from local apiarists and their usual hive and queen display, always a family drawcard; wonderful semi-precious stones and shaped bits and fossil-y bits; so much else and a huge, 'Help Yourself - It's All Free - Otherwise Landfill' mass of everything en route back. Done, for Church and several CS's. Wonderful day! This is why & always takes a shopping trolley, naff or nothing! It was beyond stuffed for the long trudge back!!!
And this excellent line from an excellent magician/comedian 'Now, are you all ready? For this one, I want to borrow EVERYONE'S imagination.....' He judged the Happy Families' atmosphere perfectly.
5. Today's big funeral over, again a wonderful farewell and church overflowing. Lainey - elements of glorious character and a rich, abundant life so well-lived similar often to DR's.

More busy week business ahead.
A tricky letter sent - hope nonsense stops.
Another long ongoing matter, &'s NZ$ wotnottery agreed at last. NZ MP was straight onto it and a good em rcvd this morning.
Ballon ovale extra - Toulon beat Benetton 23-0 and are through to the final v. Glasgow Warriors:
Very tempting, but very expensive, with the other final, Toulouse v Leinster, next day. Dublin is in for a wild weekend, 19-20 May.

The photos look fun ampers. Where was choral evensong? Glad the funeral went well.
- the weather was a bit warmer walking in - renewed my library book as due back today and reserved the next in the series - hooray for libraries
- convened an event 11 - 4:30. Exhausting but huge fun and I kept to time and we covered a lot. Oh and a free lunch :P
- walking home met 4 friends at different stages - long chat with first 2, shorter with 3rd as her bus arrived, last jogged past me with a smile and a wave
- mum back from her long weekend - sounded great fun and some lovely photos
- phoned dad while i walked the dogs. which means a NSD hooray. And now i've eaten the last of the hot cross buns (out the freezer from Good Friday), made myself a cuppa and about to dive under the duvet with my library book - they're now into full lockdown and getting to grips with lectures on zoom it being April 2020

Quick pleasures for today (Tuesday) as I have just got home. Excuse the formatting, no idea what is wrong with MSE.
- Not a bad sleep.
2) A clean ready for the house survey tomorrow. Tidied, cleaned the bathroom, scrubbed the mould off the ceilings, blackleaded the stove and weeded the garden.
3) Also repotted a house plant and started potting up nasturtiums that have self seeded all over the gravel. There are hundreds!
4) To carpet town just after 3 and had a coach trip to Alfreton…
5) Our football team scored after 33 seconds (!) and has won the 9th game in a row and is still in the playoffs!

Love Reach fair Ampersand and my cousins were often part of the medieval battle reenactment.
For yesterday,
Packed a lunch as knew would be over at the yard for most of the day, didnt forget madam's apple & carrot.
Worked her in the lunge pen and in the school, good girl despite the stable cat taking a stroll in front of her and the mini digger working in background.
She went back out for an hour or two, I cleaned tack, chatted to my pal and waited on farrier. Nice chap, he trimmed my girlie's feet (she is barefoot so doesn't need shoes ) then I held another friend's horse while he checked on her progress from a bout of laminitis.
Home just before 5, rustled together a freezer tea and I was in my PJ's by 7.
Tried to watch the Gunners game but woke up just in time to see the final whistle, a day spent outside in the fresh air and something I would daydream about whilst working in an office for 10 hours a day, every long hour was worth this freedom!

Morning all
I'm doing this on my phone as for some unknown reason can't post on my iPad after 3 years doing so!😉
Lovely couple of days here in Norfolk. On Monday we went to beautiful Ranworth and had a lovely lunch at the pub and a very sedate boat ride in an electric wooden boat on the Broad. Yesterday we had a nice pub lunch at Cley, bought cake at the deli and then had a boat trip around Blakeney Point to see the seals 🦭 Blessed with some sunshine 🌞 on both days. Really enjoying our holiday.
Have a great day everyone

Morning! My iPad was uncharged last night and I usually have it next to my bed…however bed was way across the room from a plug!
Anyway for Tuesday.
Tip run first thing.
Supermarket for a few bits and pieces.
Bought a beautiful wisteria plant with my excellent tips from this weeks work. im hoping it winds it's way up and across my new trellis.
Also a small passiflora.
Home and hung out washing. It was dried.
Remainder of carpet lifted and plonked in car, I'd hoped I could have had another appointment yesterday but none left so I've just been this morning ( and very nice chap emptied my boot!)
Had some work admin stuff to do ( we have a huge weekend ahead) and walked up to boss'house amd dropped it off. Then it was time to do what I've been putting off anf painted skirting boards. Blah blah blah.
Anyway it got done ( as it was always going to be…I just put things off!)Tuesday Tea! We had a very nice salad and some chicken and potato wedges. Then a meringue with strawberries/raspberries/blueberries ( that were left over from platter I made on Thursday) . initially just my friend then DD2 came later ate her tea and left! And a wee pudding sent home to friends daughter. Oh my goodness how we laughed last night. Proper belly laughing!
Then it was time for bed in the wrong place! Weird!
Anyway carpet chaps are in, at first the noise was in stereo as they were doing a room each at either side of the house. Dog and I are hiding in the lounge! There's method in my madness of getting the whole top floor done as when DD2 moved out she took quite a bit of furniture with her so makes sense when there's less to move. And will all be the same rather than a hodgepodge of styles. It will be worth it…I'll keep telling myself that!
Have a lovely day 😊

Did you lie on the new carpet Mhags - it's the law you know!
Pleasures for the last few days
1. A good Sunday logging in the drizzle (though it did clear up).
2. We felt we'd earned half a slice of cake each
3. watched Good Morning Vietnam, for the first time in decades.
4. Getting through the marking - another batch completed yesterday
5. cycling up in the sunshine to deliver a birthday card, and ending up in the pub! as you do.
6. Uneventful train journey back
7. Finished Malpractice and S.1 of Happy Valley
8. Probably one of the last fires of the season yesterday
Have a great day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens7 -
Hello.
Totally agree, Lainey. I too have earned my freedom through long hours of work although I'm very glad I carried on for a couple of years after I could have retired so hubby could finish six years before his due retirement. I, too, would daydream about days like this and longed to finish work but so pleased we had a plan that meant we could both 'retire' at the same time. Three years now and the novelty still hasn't worn off!
Today's pleasures:
1) A visit to a local country park and reservoir this afternoon and a lovely sunny walk watching the swans, geese and ducks playing on the water. Did a brisk three miles of nice, easy walking and then sat in the sunshine with a cuppa, very peaceful and restorative - the cuppa and the walk.
2) Hubby was back at the Dr as he is coughing again and worried his chest infection was returning. All clear, thank goodness, possibly hay fever so nose drops should sort it. He was so poorly last time so I am very relieved.
3) An anxious morning while he was out so I got a lot done to take my mind off it. Didn't really work but all clean and tidy, bathrooms cleaned, washing and some ironing done, fridge inventory done, tea prepped and veg ready for tomorrow and then he came home so I could stop. Phew!
4) SIL has received her Coronation Champion certificate and badge, very impressive. She was delighted with the flowers we had delivered, sent us photos and the Coronation rose is very pretty, a lovely soft pnk with unusual ruffled edges.
5) Just off to have a sit in my new summerhouse for an hour with a good book. It's not quite finished yet and the surrounding area is still a bit of a building site but I've stuck an old, comfy chair in there for now and my dad's old stool is piled up with reading so a pleasurable late afternoon hour or so awaits.
Off I go.......9 -
1 Watching all of the birds around the birdfeeder, with a guest visit from the jay, as long as I don’t move a muscle.
2 Dinner tonight is the last of the leftovers lo pork and rice turned into s/sour with veg – it was not good.
3 Planted some sunflower seeds in the hope they will come up, last weeks were eaten even thou planted undercover in the green house by a mouse that has been getting in via the smallest gap under the door!
4 Planted some rainbow chard, salad, rocket and tomatoes up.
5 I’ve just printed and framed the only photo I can find of DH’s dad with him as a baby in his arms, as part of his birthday presents.

Hello! Early to bed tonight. Woke up a tad labyrinthitisy this morning. Less dizzy than usual but very unbalanced which I didn’t like. And I’ve not stopped since I got up so I feel an early night is called for…with my bed back where it’ should be!Well I have new carpets. Which is joyful. So much better than what was there. Sorry for not star-fishing VJSMUM but I could not face lying on a floor when I was labyrinthitisy! However I thoroughly enjoyed hoovering up all the fluff! A cylinder full from each room…most satisfying!Tip first thing and nice chap helped me. And ( sighing deeply) another one booked for first thing tomorrow .I have 3 massive bags of bits from carpets to go. Already in the car.
Nice chaps. Which always makes a difference when you are having strangers in your home but especially I feel, when you’re on your own.Washing out. Funny kind of non-specific kind of weather. Neither one thing nor another. Mildly blah I would describe it however apart from the odd spot of rain it’s stayed dry. Still needing jumpers on!Met a friend who was passing as I was filling the car so had a nice chat with her for about 20 minutes and bizarrely I think everyone I knew in the street went by. Felt I was constantly waving and saying hello!Had to nip into town around lunchtime to collect stuff from solicitors. Passed on my parking ticket to someone as I still had half an hour left on it. Nipped to Mand S and got some bits and bobs. I’ve not been into town for 5 weeks. Had a wander round charity shops but didn’t see anything ( nor do I need)
Had a very nice M and s lasagne for my tea (part of a meal deal thingy…wouldn’t have paid full price for it but it was rather good) with salad. And a freshly made bed! The chaps kindly put my bed back where it’s supposed to be.10
