Yesterday
1) a 15 mile walk by myself so stopping whenever I fancied
2) public loos seemed to be mostly shut but was able to hang on
3) slipped on a muddy bridle path… into brambles and nettles but no other injuries beyond that!
4) found that the muddy path was indeed a slightly longer route home that skips a horrid steep hill… so will be useful in drier weather!
5) the forecast heavy rain held off until evening.
6) tested my walking shoes for their waterproof abilities and am quite impressed (was stepping in puddles to wash off the worst of the mud)
7) more skylarks (further from home), blackbirds, jackdaws, crows, sheep, one ewe must have just had just had a lamb as it couldn’t even stand up yet, a bunny rabbit, horses in the field.
8) found a new to me park… shame the coffee place was closed but never mind. I have been doing a sort of tour of the parks in surrounding areas over the last couple of years… gives a nice break when you are walking on roads and streets, a bench to sit on and interesting to compare them.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?7 -
Hello - Covid day ... whatever ... 11?
pleasures for yesterday
1. slept well
2. had a bath - kind of hope the steam helped (or was that Monday? I lose track as days are merging)
3. OH made jam - rhubarb from the garden and ginger. He's all better now
4. watched 'the good doctor', we think it's a go-er
5. read some of my book.
Have a good afternoon all.I wanna be in the room where it happens7 -
1. Joe Biden's wonderful and wise speech in Ireland.3. Perfect CS finds yesterday included 2 brand-new long nighties for £5. Wore one straight away. & doesn't do jamas.4. Trekked to deep Fenny elsewhere, for someone without transport. Collected things unwanted, passed some on immediately and the rest probably tomorrow.5. Happily used FW's Tuesday 10% discount card for we who are 60+years young in Town of Horse. Always enjoy shopping there and always praise their lovely, helpful staff. Laughter and jollity abound. More reduced limes, minus another 10%, now prepped with rtc lemons for more L&L marmalade. All now sit for 36hrs, then overnight after quietly being brought to boil. Will be in jars Friday, ready for &'s benefactor.#

Pleasures for today (Wednesday) Quite a productive day, in the end.
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Got many jobs done around the house. All hoovered, stairs cleaned, tidied, bathroom cleaned, toilet seat mended (again) and the washing machine is on.
3) Went to the library to print out the bar code thing for Park Run. My sister says she will laminate it for me. The terrible new printing process is still in place (at the library) and I asked the librarian if it was more efficient and he laughed...
4) On to carpet town and the Greek cafe for a pot of tea and an hour of Arabic. (Or possibly more as the rain was so torrential that I didn't want to walk back to my car).
5) My photos came through the post.
6) Made toad in the hole for tea.
7) I thought bigger son was coming here at 5 and he thought I was driving there. So we both sat around until 7pm wondering what had happened to the other person. Anyway, I drove round and dropped off his strawberry plants and Easter egg from my brother. We put the plants in his garden and I admired his and his girlfriend's new tattoos.
8) Back now and I have finally finished the online training to be an invigilator. I have to redo it each year and it is one of those annoying things where you have to keep redoing all the questions in a section until you get 100%, with new questions being generated each time. In reality, it is all common sense and surely 100 different awful scenarios would not befall you in one exam!

Good morning. Nice and bright today and wind is just windy, instead of extremely windy like yesterday.
Spent yesterday morning shortening the patio door curtains. I decided they would be easier to do in situ, and so I've been hand sewing them, sitting on a cushion on the floor. I keep thinking of ' To sit on a cushion and sew a fine seam' but so far no one has brought strawberries, sugar and cream to feast on!
All 3 DGC came here in the afternoon. The weather was too wild to go out and so the two oldest did a jigsaw while the littlest amused herself spreading lots of toys all over the floor! We also played Who Am I? and Beetle. It was a lovely afternoon.
However neither the strange position for curtain sewing nor the playing on the floor with DGC did my back any good! I'd practically seized up by bedtime!
A much quieter day on the cards today.
Happy Thursday everyone7 -
For yesterday,
Sloggus domesticus in the morning, tackled the airing cupboard and gave it a hoover / tidy, small bag of linens etc filled ready for CS.
Feta & beetroot salad for lunch.
Out to horsey town to drop off bag at the Scope shop, they have a system now where your donations are tracked then you are emailed once a year and told how much they have raised, fab idea.
Lovely friend come with her mobile dog grooming parlour and, like a canine version of Mr Benn, small dog emerged an hour later a very smart & lovely smelling spaniel.
Despite some sunshine it was a very cold & windy day, so much so that the heating clicked on in the evening and I made a dish of macaroni cheese for tea.7 -
Morning! Sun is shining after a quick shower of rain. Have had a chat with DD1 who is fine but sore after falling over the handlebars of her bike. That’s what I woke up to this morning. A few steristrips to her forehead and fiNiger’s strapped together.
Anyway . Yesterday was not a good day. I had absolute zero energy. Like it had all just been zapped.I woke up with a headache and I slept on and off all day. Wondered if it was covid as these were my symptoms when I had it a year ago. However tests say no.Managed to read a whole book in between the snoozing.Thankful the dog was happy to mainly snooze.Hoping today is more productive.6 -

Morning all, nice and sunny here today, hooray!
mhagster - hope you and your daughter are on the mend.
A quieter week, thank goodness. I love my life and it's nice to have time to enjoy it rather than hurtling from one thing to another.
Recent pleasures:
1) It would have been my dad's 97th birthday on Monday and our second one without him. The pleasure was that all of us 'children' reached out to each other and raised a glass in memory of a most wonderful dad in the evening. Very special memories of an amazing childhood, a dad who was always there for us, a family man in every sense - we were very, very lucky.
2) Taking little grandson out and about while he is on holiday, his older brothers doing more 'teenagery' stuff. The pleasure of a little warm hand slipping into mine as we walk along is one of the biggest joys of my life. One day, like his brothers before him, he will just stop doing this, and quite rightly so, but for now it warms my heart and I treasure our time together.
3) My son's very calm and measured approach to dealing with his children and the stresses of being a single dad, working full time, with a new partner and a huge house project on the go. I am full of admiration and respect for him, he is rock solid and takes it all in his stride. He laughingly tells me I can take no credit, he pretty much brought himself up!!!
4) Hubby has taken my mobile to the phone repair place this morning, it needs a new battery and the microphone needs servicing or replacing. Thought it was me getting deafer as I can barely hear it but not the case as I can hear fine on his. The pleasure of not checking texts, emails, What's Apps is very liberating. We don't have a house phone so nobody can get hold of me unless in an emergency when they could ring my bairn but for now the peace is bliss.
5) Packing and sorting today for our couple of days away. My birthday holiday was cut short due to hubby being really poorly so we came home early. Missed a long-awaited trip to the theatre which we were both looking forward to but I managed to get tickets for later on in the tour and we are booked for tomorrow night. Planned a lovely couple of days away with some nice things to enjoy so fingers crossed we make it this time. It'll be the calm before the storm as the roof comes off - literally - on Sunday when the roofers start work so we will make the most of a bit of us time beforehand.
Right, timed it just right for a coffee break. Enjoy your day.

Covid day #whatever...
Pleasures for yesterday
1. watched 'Race across the world'
2. my log burner
3. easy tea of what we call 'Grandad pie' cos my dad used to make it. In reality a corned beef hash. THe pleasure was the ease of it as it came out of the freezer and just needed blamming in the microwave. No pleasure in eating it as loss of taste / smell meant it tasted of nothing. Was most odd
4. OH had a nice day out with mates (might as well have vicarious pleasures)
5. my bed...I wanna be in the room where it happens8
