alright tips.Home. Hello doggy. Hello DD2 and the chap! She’d been snoozing on my sofa! They got me an Easter egg so I had that for my tea!Think it will be an early bed tonight!8 -
For Sat
1 A lot of gardening, a whole tip run boot full of garden waste, cluttering the side of the house now.
2 Also cleaned out the green house and started the pots and hanging baskets.
3 Costco pizza from freezer to oven for tea.
4 Looking forward to soaking in a hot bath as we are aching, we may have fallen asleep and woken up later.
For today
1 More gardening, just a little this time.
2 More tidying of the spare room, getting there albeit slowly, one bag of fleeces all very past it so going to the tip.
3 Grilled bacon sarnie was brekkie and we’ve ordered in a Chinese for tonight.
4 There will be Easter chocolate tasting with Lidl in one corner with their popping candy version, and Aldi in the other with theirs.
5 Caught up with DB, we need to chat more often.

Hello again.
Well, the promised hot day didn't materialise here but a pleasant, still sort of day nonetheless.
Today's pleasures:
1) A lovely lie in, woke up early and dozed for a while, my bed always fits so well in a morning so made the most of it. No builders today so no need to rush up.
2) Youngest grandson came in early - I was still in bed - to ask if he was having an Easter egg hunt or not! Think daddy must have been having a bit of a lie in too, and must have forgotten that chocolate eggs are mandatory for breakfast on Easter Sunday. Anyway, we found out later that indeed the Easter bunny had finally delivered and an egg hunt yielded results.
3) Coffee and the Sunday papers online, lovely lazy morning.
4) Took little fella to our favourite hall and gardens - first visit of the year - and luckily yet another Easter Egg hunt made up for his disappointment that they had run out of fish food. The gardens looked magnificent with blossom and spring flowers at their best, just a faint blue shadow in the woods where the bluebells will form a carpet under the trees in another few weeks. A glorious spot. Tea and homemade cakes in the restaurant with some lovely light jazz in the background. Grandson entered a competition to draw a picture of his favourite part of the garden, no surprise that he drew the fish pond, complete with air bubbles from the fishes' mouths!
5) My least favourite day of the year is nearly over. This is a huge pleasure, I dread the countdown to Easter Sunday every year, the bad memories must be carved very deep as I've gone on to build a far better and happier life than I ever would have had but the scars must still be there. Anyway, it's nearly done and tonight I shall snuggle up with hubby on the sofa, safe in the knowledge that he is the kindest person I have ever known and would never hurt me in a million years - maybe I'll go so far as to share my chocolate egg with him. Tomorrow is another day and there are good things to look forward to.
Enjoy your evening.7 -
Hello all 😊
hope you’re having a great day.
Easter Sunday has been a bit of a write off for me as hay fever has been terrible ! I’ve taken 3 tablets instead of 1, nasal spray, eye drops and Vaseline around my nostrils but have still been sneezing, runny nose sore throat and eyes all day. Have missed the sunshine and stayed indoors with windows and door firmly shut!
have watched 3 episodes of Magpie Mysteries, had left over gammon for dinner and shared an Easter 🐣 egg with OH.
Hope pollen count is better tomorrow and can venture outdoors.
currently sort of watching David Attenborough, think it will be another early night.

Ampersand - when I first looked at your spoon photo, I thought it was a geode!
Highdays - I'm sorry that I have forgotten your story. I'm not sure if it the same as for me but the run up to Christmas will always bring back bad memories.
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep. I am waking earlier and finding it easier to actually get out of bed. In recent months I have woken up but felt as though I was glued to the bed! I think the iron tablets might be taking effect...
2) I went into town to print off some photos but all the shops were shut. I went to see bigger son and his girlfriend to drop off 2 Easter eggs and girlfriend's birthday present. Had a cup of tea while I was there. I sorted the online photo printing thingy.
3) I then nearly got RSI from waving! I saw V (from Park Run), then S (chess opponent, who always waves in what I can only describe as an extravagant and delighted manner, although he is incredibly cool the rest of the time) then a fellow English teacher!
4) I stopped in the museum garden for a cup of tea and did some Arabic.
5) Back home for lunch which was sandwiches made from yesterday's roast chicken and stuffing plus some mango chutney.
6) Cleaned the oven and the sink.
7) Went to my sisters for tea - salads and Cornish pasties made with veg and rabbit.5 -
For yesterday,
Up early and out with small dog, lovely morning weather wise.
Usual Sunday morning routine then sat outside on swing seat reading for an hour or so, it’s in a sheltered spot and I did have a big cardi on but oh I enjoyed that.
Listened to JAM on catch up.
Large lunch, lazing on the sofa then stirred our stumps to walk around the fields to make the most of the fine weather before the rain comes back.
We are enjoying Canal Boat Diaries.

1. Easter Mending Monday - and so much done of all sorts. Most satisfying, especially when interspersed with mini Kinder egg consumption.
2. NPD - joy!
3. Crashy rain has been and gone, so chancing gusty wind blowing laundry dry this arvo+evening, with attentive cloud watch. Some big grey fellows are billowing around over the Fens🤞. & will stay alert.
4. Oldest NH Uni friend msg'g rtn from daughter's finca in Portugal. Our drop-in cuppas will resume tmrw and & will be urging Alison Bruce's 'The Siren' immediately upon her! Just finished it moments ago. Brilliant, local, such fine writing. Lainey - absolutely for you, too.
5. Mmmmm, think I will shortly prep. an emporium extremely rtc Leckford Farm steak and red chicory salad, maybe with a grilled tomato and slice of Simnel cake to follow. Pleasing to have choices.

Frith, was much tempted by several geodes in CS last week, but all too dear for &'s OAP budget. Besides, had spotted a Rehema Project textile-wrapped bangle for 75p, worn ever since, so pleased to be conscious of its significance. OK, 17 attempts later, pic shows bangle with same fabric gift to & from church in January.🙂

Hello ( I’ve had a nap!) my working week done, hurrah!Up early. And in a bit earlier so I can nip home. Was a wild start to the day and forecast was ghastly but actually turned out to be a nice day.
Had a wee fruit scone. Because lent is over and I can again! I usually make myself just a wee tiny one along side the big ones!Home mid morning for about 40 minutes to see my doggy. Then his big sister was coming to see him at lunchtime.A very busy shift, our busiest ever Monday though not our busiest day.Excellent tips! Thank you very much. In the jam jar.And home. Hello doggy. And hello bed for a lie down for an hour! Was just utterly exhausted. Since had a shower and will potter around for a bit.7 -
Ampersand - my googling of Rehema Project isn't bringing up anything helpful! What is it?
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep. I am continuing to wake up at a more sensible time, and actually get up, so am becoming more convinced that the iron is working.
2) Weighed self and am 14 stones. I am tall, but I'm not 6 feet 4! Using stuff up today so had a cooked breakfast (lots of black pudding for the Fe) and I made what we call a roast dinner pie for tea (yesterday's roast dinner ingredients chopped up with a tin of soup and puff pastry over the top). The blood sugar diet will have to be followed but not as strictly.
3) Went to M and S cafe and had 2 pots of tea and did lots of Arabic. Got on a bit of a roll today. Will I remember it all?
4) Lay in bed to listen to our football team on the radio. They have won 3 games in a row, after very poor form since January. Miraculously, they have (or might have? Smaller son would know the statistics) a place in the play offs.
5) Vaguely tidied up and did the washing up mountain.
6) Did some juggling. I learned at university so have been able to juggle 3 or 4 since then. I think this year might be the year to crack juggling 5. I can't do it in the house as the ceiling is too low (it's OK for 3).
I don't know where the day has gone but I seem to have been quite busy.7
